Micah is right to a degree. It can be cleaned first time quite well if you have the attachments, some I've made myself. I always like to get nose to glass for the first clean with GG4 & a porcupine scrubber + a triumph blade. Tucker do some good brushes & you may want to ask when you buy, for an extra heavy duty brush to get at really soiled windows. There is a learning curve to using a wfp, don't think its as easy as washing a car. There is a technique depending on overhead sprays/ through head sprays (tucker) & whether to clean the top frame or not. GG3/4 will help aid the process of changing over to wfp. You will also need to know your average tds of your water (hard/soft) to see if you want a DI system or an RO system for hard water areas.

No he is wrong, you need the DI tank to go straight from supply to job clean. Depending on how soft or hard your water is, you may need to buy an RO system. DI systems are for soft water areas otherwise you would be paying to replenish the DI crystals every month if you are in a hard water area.

Don't you also find that too much brushing can wear away the weave? Thats why looking for the perfect chemical can make life a lot easier. I would like to know more about the effectiveness of this F13, if anyone has used it.

A good scraper used correctly will get rid of most build up, but that means actually going up there - thats a different job completely.

There is a way to make your Unger pole even higher up to 45 foot. Ask Unger, mine was modified by the seller. Its pretty hard going at this height though!

The waterfed pole business is booming in the UK & slowly coming round here in Spain. I think the advancement in the pole side is really looking good in the UK with lighter poles being developed & going up to 60 foot +. The reason for this is the modification of fishing poles. With the H&S getting firm on ladder use & deaths at height, most commercial work can only be done with this method now. Like wfp that has a steep learning curve, I use GG4 made by Titan labs that also has a steep learning curve for squeegee work. The finish is remarkable though. I also find that using Sörbo gear cuts down on detailing.

Hi Ron, you are correct, he never wrote that he power washed them thats why I wrote "I think". He also has a huge power washing wand next to his name & only promotes pressure washing on his web site. Perhaps you are right...who knows...Tony? What signature would you like?

I think Tony is saying he cleaned them with a pressure washer. Its o.k. if you reduce the pressure washer down to a level where it is not damaging the awning. As I stated, eventually the pressure will make the awning sag over time. These relatively small awnings are stretched quite close together so the effect is not noticeable. Try doing a 6 metre stretch of awning with a high pressure washer & see it go! Most manufacturers recommend never to use pressure washers on them, just a pressure similar to what comes out of the faucet.

I'm with bulletproof on this one. I have been through most professional window cleaning solutions including squeegee off(no cleaning power). I find GG4 my soap of choice (GG3 for soft water areas). I also rely on a 6" Triumph scraper - my weapon of choice (and stitches to prove it).

These filters have a limited life and are readily available over in the UK in supermarkets. The life depends on what hardness/softness your water is. Otherwise known as a water fed pole system (WFP).

I prefer winsol products. I have cleaned upteen awnings with them. I like a few of the starbrite poducts such as "black streak remover". Bleach is never good for an awning unless you want them to degrade & die in a couple of years. Go to the Winsol website for guidance on application & sealing. Typically canvas awnings are harder to clean than the vinyl. I did have a few photos on this site a couple of years a go (before & after). I think they have vanished with the website being updated a few times. Try & pick off the bird poo before starting, as wetting it leads to more problems. I never use a pressure washer, just a soft brush and water fed pole cleaning equipment. Pressure washers will stretch the fabric and will lead to unslightly bulges in the fabric.
