I too dont like outside forces telling a biz they have to give bennies, thats up to the company and also up to the prospective employee if he wants to take a job without bennies Its a shame thou that bennies like health care are disappearing for many in the work force. When I was young even most low paying jobs had health care and some other bennies. Now its impossible for some companies to afford to give them. The workers in this country are getting less & less and less pay in many cases My Sister in law works for a large doctors office she does MRI's. $19 an hr good pay around here. She pay almost $700 a month for family health insur. and in 2007 its going up 21% UNREAL and she works for a MD. Whats the figure out to be about a week & a half of her pay a month goes to just paying her health care, not including co pays, thats just wrong In my area many work for around $6.00 an hour give or take and I think the min wage should be increased, Cost of living increases , your congressman gets big ones why not the people they represent

Christians a great guy, good worker. He worked a couple days with us helping us out when we were jammed up with to much work, he helped us get it done. He is worth his weight in gold and he has a real cute new baby too Id use Christians help anytime great guy! Hey if the offer is still good, if your up this way. Terry I figured somebody would bite on the min wage. I understand what you say, I just think a different way on it. I figure if the congress can give themselves cost of living raises and they are doing less work, why not give cost of living raises to the lower end. Gov poverty levels are ridiculous, I heard them back a while ago. Hell a family of 3 dogs couldnt live on Gov poverty levels. I figure more money in peoples pockets the more they spend, the more the min wage is up the higher other wages in the lower end will go up. Im a biz owner, yes, but I believe in helping all people not just myself. If a person isnt worth $5.15, I'd know it in a day and would let him go theres 2 sides to every coin and its just my humble position on it. JL How about stem cell research? When dealing with commercial accounts, PM's etc How many of you do follow up calls or letters after giving bids? I feel doing follow up calls or letters is a great source of infomation and a good way to get work. I generally will do a follow up call on just about every bid/proposal I do, for a few reasons 1) Its a good way to get work. I had a proposal I did and the PM lost it. He forgot my name and # and had no way to get in touch with me. My call to him landed a small but good job and since we did that job, Ive gotten other work from him Sometimes the PM or commercial property is busy and a call from me might get them thinking about the project Its a good way to get the moving and Ive had many say thanks for reminding them 2) A follow up is a good way to find out about your competitions rates. Ive done many follow up calls only to find out I lost the bid. I ask if they mind telling me what the winning bid was. It shows me if Im close in pricing or way off or if my competition is just way to low....low balling 3) Follow up is another way of letting the prospective customer know you are interested and want the work. It shows your professional and care, I think. Its a way, a chance to make a 2nd sales pitch. Its a way to ask them for more work or to bid on more work Anybody else do follow up Just some food for thought on what might work Jeff

I dont think it would ever pass, matter of fact I'd bet on it. I dont think most Dems would vote for it either. Mandated benifits would be a hard sell and a slippery slope to go down Kennedy is a thorn in a lot of peoples side I know, but being from Mass myself, he was usually very good for delivering for the state. I give him credit, because he almost always is for the worker , much more than for big biz. I like that he is for working class and families. I know Chappaquiddick, Big red drinkers nose etc etc, but he delivers for his state, thats why the elect him term after term. Paid sick leave wont pass dont worry. I just thought it was one of those crazy things/bills that go up every once in a while, that are a waste of time

Is that same PM with the company still. Ive called a few times and found out a PM was no longer with the company. One I left messages for about 4 weeks and then I found out he wasnt with the company for over 3 months, they never changed his voice mail

I have 18 month old Titan reels never a problem, I love them, sturdy well built and reel nice, I have 4 month old Hose Tract and they S--K, the locking pins fall out and also break completly. I have one that the core is starting to collapse. Wont ever buy them again

Vinyl on a house is the same as on a complex, you can use the same stuff as you use now. Vinyl is easy. I use for a 5.6gpm machine 1 1/2 - 2 gallons of 12% ( if its cold you can go a little stronger)and some apple blossum Dawn in a 5 gallon bucket top the rest off bucket off with water. Thats if your just cleaning some dirt, mold & mildew . Simple and it works and works great on giving you spot free windows, rinse well and move on. If theres pollution I use RPC Citra Clean Congrats on your largest job ever, dont let it worry you, it will surprise you how easy it will be. Look at it like this, its just a big house! You know I was talking to a freind of mine from my school days, we both smoked pot, got drunk and eventually did drugs. We both did well in the trades union, but we still got drunk & high, all the way through school and well into our adult life. The money & time I wasted in my life is sad. Well we both have talked many times about it, ya we had some fun, lots of fun, but as I got older and now I realized what a waste. There was 3 kinds of kids in our town like many other towns, There was the Jocks, The Geeks and the Burnouts. We both said we wish we were at least a jock and really wished we were one of the Geeks who now are successful and it didnt take them into there late thirties to be successful. I pray that my children never are in the burnout crowd and I already talk to my son about drugs & drinking a little and try to explain to him about right & wrong. I rather have my children be the biggest SO CALLED geeks then ever do even a little what I did in my younger days . I rather they have a 4.0 average then worry about getting a good 4 finger bag of pot. I wish the very best for my kids and all of yours too.

Why don't you take a few minutes and tell us what you plan is? Not what is wrong with my plan. Not what we have screwed up so far. Not how much better it could have been. What is your plan for fixing this situation and in what timeframe does that occur? My last post I gave you my plan, its only one of the plans I could think of. PLAN #1 - Take the whole place over & make it ours, oil & all, takes some big bombs for about 2 years, flatten & kill as much as we can, then start sending troops & engineers to rebuild the oil fields and put up big refineries with big oil tanks that Say USA OIL CO. in big red white & blue letters PLAN #2 NUKE EM PLAN #3 Go in with overwhelming force and block the borders and kill insurgents that try to come in, but we would need about 1 million of our soldiers, which would mean starting a draft, because we would be stretched to thin. PLAN #4 - NUKE EM LOL Phil as I said im not prez or a general I do not have all the answers but Stay the course hasnt got us anywhere, thank god you wont be the next President you'd be another GW and this country needs change and some one who isnt so partisan, someone who can unite.
