Artillery fungus is different. But this is mildew, and it forms that kind of pattern. I agree with Adrians suggestion. It should clean up easily. Beth

Chevron Shingle Oil? Really?
Beth n Rod posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I'm posting a link here. http://www.matweb.com/search/datasheettext.aspx?matguid=60b72a5c075c44659d624a2e346ee048 A home owner called us, just sick over what a contractor had done to her home. It was burned with bleach, then coated with the above oil. It was done by a company that also does cheap driveway sealing from what she could tell after the fact.... Some of what I see here give me great concern. Has anyone here run into this or ...used it? Beth -

You're welcome. If that is the same doc from early 2000's, it's outdated. I would have to open and read it to tell you though.... coatings and chemical strippers have evolved. Beth -

OSHA Quick Cards This link will take you to an OSHA page that is a list of all the down-loadable quick cards they offer. These are safety cards and are in both English and Spanish. Many of them cover topics relevant to us as contractors. Since these are OSHA's guidelines they are straight from the horses mouth. You can't go wrong incorporating these into your training. Bookmark this for future use. Hope it helps you all! Beth :groovy3:

Do you discuss your hourly charge out rate with customers?
Beth n Rod replied to john@AEC's topic in Business Topics & Tips
We line item the services. But we do not break out materials and labor. Think about it like this. You go to a restaurant, you have an item, on a menu with a price. What you do not see are the costs of the ingredients, and the overhead for the facility and the labor. Beth -

It has been a really bad weather year here too, VERY late start, and temps well below avg here too, like they are for you Jim. I really hope we don't have another polar vortex from hell winter. Beth -

For those who do staining in Virginia
Beth n Rod replied to Ryan556's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Having a license actually puts contractors in a better position over the others in this region. People are actively looking for credibility. Rod -
Yay! It's wonderful when your job gets easier, isn't it? Beth

Beth n Rod replied to Ryan556's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Ryan, if it is your state of permanent residence you won't need an resident agent since your office is there. The purpose of the resident agent is to basically be a mailing address. My guess is you will either need the B or C class license. Beth -

Rod - His website has him out of Roanoke. Two offices maybe? In any case Ryan, you do need Virginia's HIC. Beth -

Beth n Rod replied to Ryan556's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Yes. Any type of home improvement work that falls under their classification as such. If you are only doing this from out of state, you will need to acquire a resident agent as well. It looks from your bio that you are in New York. Why travel that far for a deck? Rod -

Depends on the $$$ amount you do on a regular basis. Class A is the highest Class B is the next and Class C is the lowest. https://conlicense.com/ That should help Rod -
