Saver Systems Support is lacking!
Beth n Rod posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I don't rant often, most of you know me, when I DO rant, it is for a damn good reason. Also, we have been caring for wood for 15 years, and are very well versed in applying multiple kinds of finishes. We recently installed a product made by Saver Systems for a high end long time client of ours. They have a busy back yard, lots going on, and the landscapers tracked something on to the deck that the home owner can't remove. At the suggestion of the Dealer we bought it from I called them for support. So far I can't get past the customer service person who keeps giving me the same tired line.....clean it with dawn dish soap. Oh for crying out loud, I understand a few things, I know quite a bit, let me just talk to the damn chemist!!!!!!! GGRRRRRRR!!!!! Beth -

Beth n Rod replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Yes I saw the deck. We do the deck annually. It's ipe. We remedied it the best we could. It was the landscapers who tracked onto it. Last year it was the pool company that boogered it up. Beth -
You too John! Have a safe and happy 4th all!!! Beth

Cell phone text harrasment getting legal attention nationwide
Beth n Rod replied to Beth n Rod's topic in Business Topics & Tips
Your children should not have to be interrupted by or have to read that vile tripe. Bullying is not tolerated in schools, and there are laws for harassment and stalking etc., so it is good to see that there is now something with TEETH to protect us. Beth -
It's that time of year again folks, time to reflect on the season behind us, and make changes for the new year. Having said that, I think it is safe to say we have all been yearning for an oil ever since the VOC laws changed in 2005. Gone are the sealers of old, we are faced with all sorts of things, hybrids, tough strips and the like. So....what's YOUR sealer of choice for 2009? It's multiple choice. Don't forget to vote! :dancing: Beth :sunshine: :groovy3: :cup:

I agree and that is why I posted it. I know many people who a tired of it and fed up, who have told me that they don't even go online and try to have no dealings with this person. Beth -
There is some very bad, VERY FALSE information being spread by an individual who has decided to hold an event right before this one. To get accurate information ALWAYS go to the person sponsoring the individual show. Beth

Precautions with Chemicals
Beth n Rod replied to Stevec48ul's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Those are some very nebulous questions. The answers would be derived from a more specific set of questions. As far as PPE (personal protective equipment) It depends on what you are doing at the time. Gloves are typical, respiratory protection is common andrain gear depends on if you are operating on standing structures vs flatwork. Rod -

This may sound a bit far fetched, but did the key sheer off? Rod -
Looking at the area the steps are installed on and the algae around them, made me think the climate is better for the acrylic. If you are a painting contractor, you understand the why of that. You would also get why the oil might be less favorable. As for brand, well, do you have a professional preference? Go with what you know. Beth p.s. stringers are a pin in the butt. if you have to replace a step there is a good likelihood they crack and break if they are older......

I have moved your post to the DIY area. This is the area for home owners. Thank you. Beth

There are many out there. Take your pick. Have fun with your project. Beth

The only way to never have to worry about a coating again, is to rebuild it with composite. Otherwise, forget it. There IS no maintenance free ANYTHING. Clean it and seal it with whatever you like. Personally, on those I would put down an acrylic. Beth

Want to Start a Professional Operation!
Beth n Rod replied to Stevec48ul's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Welcome to TGS. Please add your signature, house rules. There is no single response that can fully prepare you and tell you everything you need to know. If you could narrow down your questions, and be specific, you could get them answered. Also there is a lot to be found here with searching. Do you know what kind of service you want to offer specifically? Do you know if your market supports it? Do you have the funds you need to support yourself while you are learning and growing? Do you know what tools and equipment you need? Do you have a work truck? Do you have a business plan? Do you have a marketing plan? Do you know how to estimate? Do you have an office set up? Beth -

We do have before and some during shots....or at least before shots. Story about this deck, I quoted it last summer, and it was late enough in the season that I suggested a wash only, since they would not get the best use of all the sealer. So we washed it, and all the patio area beneath, and the patio up in the yard you can't see, and the walk you can't see. This spring we gave it another bath, and this time we sealed it. It had not been sealed in years. They are thrilled. We only did the ipe. Rod and a helper had to be VERY careful around all of the white. This deck was done by hand. We always plastic and tarp. We do quite a bit of work for this particular builder, although this home owner found us on his own and it was through conversation that we discovered who the builder was. BEST builder in the area. Hands down. Beth -

A/C stain looks like it's peeking after less than a year.
Beth n Rod replied to boho444's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Looks great! If you have to apply more always do it during the initial application. If you apply too much you will run into issues, and that is true of any product. Follow the label. Beth -

Yeah I remember that, we were blocked from participating by a local guy who planned it, yet, I was the writer for CT who got the assignment to write about it. Go figure. LOL Beth -
