Over application. Go back and wipe it down with mineral spirits on just the shiny areas. May help, may not. It's your best shot. Beth

Woodrich for redwood fence and teak furniture
Beth n Rod replied to pumpkineater59's topic in DIY'ers - Ask The Pro's
No idea. Don't buy or use his stain at all. Buy HD-80 from Scott Paul, but that is the extent of it. Have not spoken to Russell in I can't even remember how long. If you are that curious, call him. ;-) Beth -
No. HERE, it has stopped. I want to be clear, I do NOT want to see it return. Beth

We use to use Woodrich and those stains made by Extreme Solutions, but we switched to Armstrong Clark. Great product, great service, no distribution delays! Beth -

You are most welcome. The next four issues in total will cover the internet. The first two cover business websites, the second two online resources. Hope you enjoy them, just as I am thoroughly enjoying writing this book. Beth -
Messmer's on Ipe
Beth n Rod replied to Emminz's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Many people are looking for a product that will last longer on Ipe but the problem lies in the formulations that do tend to color shift with age. This creates the problem of needing to strip it each time maintenance is performed because what has aged on the deck will not match with what comes out of the can. We have been Armstong stains for this very reason. Everytime you wash it, the color comes off mostly but what remains in the wood is just the non-drying oils and it helps to keep the wood from developing cracks. Problem is drying time and absorption can be uneven on some grades of Ipe. I add a dryer to help facilitate a quicker set up on decks where this has been a problem. Rod!~ -
My point of the day. Drama comes in many forms for those who look for it and propagate it. Peace comes to those who recognize it and don't participate. Rod!~
