  1. shure -flow setup

Hi all :groovy: Just wanted to clear the air..... Paul will ALWAYS be welcome here as a Forum Leader but did resign to fulfill other obligations. These BBS's take alot of time and Paul never gives anything less than 1000% in anything he does. His posts were always unbiased, and filled with information. As he said he was never compensated. The goal of our forum Leaders is to help our members. I suspect we'll still see him online. ;) About what you can and can't post.... Paul's post is ok with me in that he was spec'ing a system as a user. (unless I need more coffee I think I read it that way) Folks here can always check the store, and yes there are new things added all the time. But if someone is talking How To's or something, it's appropriate to mention all the necessary info. I have seen Paul post a list of possible resources in the past. That's a good thing. Don't we all need to have resources to choose from? What we don't allow is blatant advertising of another product .... name, price, etc...buy here! Those remarks do sting a little. When in doubt read the forum rules. Ok....more coffee. :coffee: Beth
  2. Joe, Please go back and edit out the tags. Thanks. Beth

  4. Artillary Fungus

There is an article in The Library... Just wish it had a solution. Beth
  5. Well, wadda ya think? ;)

This thread was from when we were on version 2.x, and was referring to just after the site was integrated with other solutions. As for the features in 3.0 that allow users to change the look, see the user notes in Hear Ye Hear Ye. I think you'll be pleased to see how robust this version is....but then, I suspect you already know that... ;) Beth:groovy:
  6. Hi Everett, I edited your posts to remove the the font tags. The new version of VB is a little different. WYSIWYG editor.... Beth :groovy:
  7. Try a test spot (with permission) to see if you can remove the stain before quoting the work. Beth
  8. Hi all, We normally use degreaser if it's wet, or plain old mineral spirits, but recently tried Goof Off. Aside from that nasty smell, it works like a charm on cleaning up sealer. Thought I would pass it along. Beth
  9. impressed with olympic maximun

We have gone back to decks this summer, fall and winter that were sealed with Wood Tux and found that they did not blacken, but held the clolor beautifully. Rod was very happy to report that even homes with northern exposure on the decks during this wet season had not had any problems. Homes in full sun held up beautifully as well. This is amazing during such a wet season. Beth
  10. simple green saved the day

Henry is correct. Be careful what you call them. Beth
  11. POLE PWI- what do you pay starting labor...?

Personally, I suggest anyone serious about being in business hire a CPA to help get your corporation set up, to handle your taxes, and to advise you on employee withholdings. Many will offer payroll service or can direct you to one. I can tell you this with certainty... Hiring temporary labor from a company such as Labor Ready, they handle the taxes for you, you are paying them for the service of the person working. If you have a full time or part time employee, you need to be withholding taxes, both Federal and state, as well as social security and in many cases local taxes. Employees work directly for your company and do not have a company of their own. At the end of the year you should be generating a W-2 for them. Subcontractors would have to take money out of the money you pay them for their own taxes (as I understand it, please talk to a CPA) and at the end of the year you generate a 1099 for them. They should be filling out a form W-9 for you when you begin to use them. You should also have a copy of their liability insurance on file. Hope this helps, Beth:groovy:
  12. Waiting for Springtime!

He's not kidding... Our little local paper isn't cheap, but it draws well. Henry has to be spending 1K per month in our local paper based on the ad. We spend half that per month with them. Beth
  13. POLE PWI- what do you pay starting labor...?

Maybe we should post that poll here too. ;)

  16. power washing technical specs

The gentleman who is posting was referred to the BBS by me. He called, found us online, checked out PWNA, and needs help for a spec he's writing as I recall, and Scott wins the prize, he is an architect who is trying to learn for his project. Any help you guys can give is appreciated. He's out of his element here, but we're in ours.... Great responses by the way.... Beth :groovy3:

  19. PWNA Free Trade Show Passes 13th & 14th

Hey it was great meeting you too! We really enjoyed meeting everyone and getting to talk. Just wish we had more time. Beth
  20. The PWNA held it's annual convention in Dallas, Texas last week from Feb. 11th -14th. The convention was held in conjunction with the IWCA's annual convention. As of early afternoon on the 11th, over 400 attendees were registered for the convention. Behind the scenes both the PWNA board and IWCA board met in day long sessions on Tuesday the 10th to discuss business, then got together to review Board Assignments so that everyone knew where they needed to be when throughout the week. This was no small task. Each room change and speaker had two people assigned to it, and some activities had more people assigned to help. Events began as early as 7:00 am and went into the night in some cases, such as the night of the hose rolling and window cleaning competition. Attendees also got to see a rare sight in Dallas as SNOW moved in on Saturday. It's been a loooooong week folks. Let's all share our expereinces with those who could not attend. By the way...mark your calendar now for NEXT year's convention in Columbus Ohio. Beth
  21. I'll check with them this week and let you know. Beth :groovy3:
  22. PWNA Free Trade Show Passes 13th & 14th

WOW! What a trade show it was. The convention had over 400 attendees, and there were rows and rows and rows of vendors. We're exhausted. But what a great way to kick off the new season! Enjoyed meeting many of you from BBS land for the first time and talking. We wish there had been more time! Beth & Rod
  23. Rocco, We leave today for Dallas. I can check when we get back, I'm sure we can get one for you. I'll try to call on it this morning before we go. Beth:cool:
  24. Bellwayne, We use the Decker sprayer. It has a shurflo/flojet type pump. If you like I can get you pricing on it as soon as I am back from Dallas. Beth
  25. Roof work: chemicals and methods

John - What is the % of SH you are using on the roof? I ask this because using too much of it will degrade the shingle. Sodium hydroxide is the most caustic thing there is. It will degrade petroleum based products, and asphalt shingles qualify as that. Any time you alter pH it is necessary to restore the balance of the pH, especially if you are working on a surface that can deteriorate from exposure. Do you neutralize after cleaning a roof with SH? If so with what? You state that you can do more damage to plants with chlorine than SH.... SH is far worse. SH is far better for WOOD at the right dilution than chlorine is. However ideally a percarb would be best on a wood shingle. Now regarding your advertising here, we are not a distributor for your products and our rules state that only those vendors whose products we represent may advertise her. This includes contacting people through the BBS. We welcome you to post and become a part of the community here, but please go back and read the rules. Thank you. Beth & Rod Administrators.
