Paul, Exactly! There has to be someone out there somewhere...... Rick, if thee were any left, we could photograph one. We have been making rough copies since June. Beth

I agree they are a pain to make. We had to resort to that too. Had a GREAT sample come from a vendor, but the hole cut out in the middle was too big, and making it smaller seemed incomprehensible to them. Onward we go.... Believe me, when we do get our hands on them I'll send an email blast and post it right away. Beth :groovy3:

Rob - There are no good sources so far. I have been trying to get VARIOUS companies to make them since JUNE. There is more to this than you think. Don't blame Greg. I don't know what it is aboutthe companies that make this type of thing, but they are impossible to get an order from. We all want them, and I'm still looking for a source. Several have let us down too. Beth

I'm not sure I see it as something you can factor logic or rationale into. But then, I have faith. Faith can be a very peaceful and beautiful thing, but it's someting that lives in your heart and it touches your soul. (to me) Maybe someday you'll find it in your own way. I don't think everyone finds it the same way. And I also have to wonder if it's harder to find, in your line of work. I would think cops, firemen, doctors, anyone who has to deal with alot of death and sensless acts would potentially have a hard time. Beth

Are they rocks or pebbles? I like marbles myself....

Thanks Mike, To me, we are supposed to work, and to find our way here. He gave us earth and the means to do what is necessary. The rest is up to us. If we creat a plane that flies and has the ability to crash, whose fault is it really? God didn't build it. He gave us the room to make a decision to fly. We did. I try not to think about things like why God doesn't end all suffering now. I keep coming back to we are supposed to learn and better ourselves and help others. Beth

John, In my opinion, you have felt His presence. He's there when people pass. Death can seem very senseless. It's easy to ask why a loving God would let bad things happen to us. I'm not sure we get that answer... at least not here, or yet. What kept the plane from exploding as you and any other rescuers helped? If it should have exploded in your professional opinion, then isn't it possible that God kept you safe so that you could help others who might have been alive and also to respectfully care for the remains of the loved ones of many others? Just a thought.... Beth

I have some questions.... have any of you ever experienced..... Holding a new born baby in your arms and seeing the beautiful perfect creation, a life so delicate, and in that moment you felt blessed and found yourself saying thank you? Have you ever been worried or worse terrified for that same child as he/she grew older and was out in the world, and when you got him/her back in your arms and held him/her close you felt thankful? Have you ever felt like you had a lucky day, either everything went extremely well, almost perfect, or perhaps you felt very lucky to avoid an accident? Maybe you said thank goodness? Or...that was close....felt that someone/thing was watching over you? Do you ever say ...Thank God. Have you ever felt good about just believing? Very often we tell our children to have faith. We feel faith. We feel faithful. We can feel faithless at times in our lives. If you tell a friend or family that you have confidence in them, and you say you have faith, what do you mean? Why do you have faith? Because you believe in them? Is it easier to believe in things we see than things we can not see? Why do children believe in Santa Clause? (don't give me that santa in the mall thing either - you never really see him come down a chimney) Children have faith. They believe in us. We are big, and we love them and we are their world. They are in awe of us. I think, God is alot like that. He's BIG. He loves. If you look at all he has given us, as you hold an infant, you are in awe of it aren't you? Faith doesn't have to be about church. It doesn't have to be secular. Those are personal choices that are made based upon what is comfortable to us...where to worship, in public, private what denomination if any. Believing and having faith are boundless. God is bigger (I think anyway) than we can ever possibly define or discover until we pass from here. No offense intended. Just thinking out loud... Beth

Also if there are photos you like online, just call the owner. You might be surprise and hear they are fine with sharing. Some mind, some don't, some only want the courtesy of a call. Beth ;) -

Company website using others pictures
Beth n Rod replied to John T's topic in Business Topics & Tips
This debate is one that some feel more strongly about than others. To some, a photo is a photo. To others, it is a representation of the quality of their service and they are reminded of the hard work they did to give the best possible job. perhaps part of it is pride, but to me it seems evident that it is just the right thing to do to ask. And we also can't get away from the fact that the law does protect the one who took the photo. They are the owners of it. The owner should have the right to say yes or no to the use of the photo. There is also the matter of consent to use the photos that the owner has to get. Companies should be getting the customer's consent to use photos of their property. We're sure many don't. But this consent is limited to the agreement the customer signs. What if someone were to see a photo and come after the company who had consent as well as the one who did not? This issue is more than just about using a picture or two. It's about due diligence and ethics. It's about doing the right thing by asking when you want to use something. It's about checks and balances. Don't assume if you ask the answer will be no. But if you don't ask don't be surprised if it is the answer you get. Courtesy... perhaps you can call it that if you like. Regarding the Admins, Moderators, and Members here, yes we do care. Go back and read through this site. Look at the collection of information. Think about the time it took to get it all online. Think about the responses and the effort that went into creating them. On behalf of this BBS, it's staff and members we would like to apologize if you were offended by the tone of this thread. Further we would also thank you for stepping up and bringing to our attention that another used the photos without your knowledge. We're glad to see you came back and responded with more information. Now..... tell us more about what you do? Start a thread and share about what kind of work is typical in Florida. Welcome to The Grime Scene. We're looking forward to your participation. Beth & Rod -

Ernie, Thank you for posting your side of what transpired. Do you maintain your own web site? Or did you have someone build it for you? We have encountered numerous instances where people's work has been used without permisson. This thread was created to address an issue that is important - ethical business practices - and to bring to the attention of others that there was a site using others photos without permission. Some of these photos could have, and did in fact belong to a member here. We understand that the photo was taken down. We commend you for it, especially if the photo was placed online by a webmaster without your knowledge and had not yet been discovered. If you have an individual working on your web site who would do such a thing, perhaps you ought to consider another webmaster. Both disposable and digital cameras are abundantly available today and are wonderful tools to keep in the field. These tools will help keep any dishonest webmaster from taking anothers photos without your knowledge, by allowing you to supply your webmaster with all of the content needed to create your site. However, due diligence and keeping your own business from getting into trouble from actions such as this, is the responsability of any business owner. With regards to the members here, we're sorry to say we don't share your opinion. Our members and Moderator Staff all strive to remain professional and to uphold the highest possible business standards. We are a community of very helpful individuals. Many of the people here call one another, email and chat in an effort to help both expereinced and new power washers alike. We all work hard to better ourselves and for this very reason, we care. We invest ourselves in benefiting others. On behalf of those who have been effected by events such as this in the past, we thank you for your diligence and corrective measures. We would like nothing more than to see you become an active part of the community here, with a positive and helpful voice. Beth & Rod Administrators -

Why can't he answer to both? I mean sure here in Americal we have a judicial system set up to handle those who break our laws, but dealing with people on a more personal level is up to God to do, and we don't know the outcome of anyones dealings with Him except for our own when we have to face him ourselves. Doesn't seem to be an either or thing to me....seems a both thing... Just my opinion... Beth
