Preferred Colors
Beth n Rod replied to Brian Keating's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Try between 5:1 and 9:1 ontht honey:cedar. Let me know which you like best. We have a fence to do this fall and I'm thinking 9:1 right now, but I may go 7:1 or 8:1. Beth -

Preferred Colors
Beth n Rod replied to Brian Keating's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
On new PT lumber, I LOVE the Warm Honey Gold. The Western Cedar is nice too, but will take on a little more of a brown tone if there is a fair amount of green in the wood you are working on from the CCA. The Redwood looks very nice on Cedar wood, or Redwood wood. It's nice on pine, but I like it better on cedar or redwood. On cedar, it depends on the cedar. If it is white, you really can go either way...Warm honey gold, or Cedar. The Cedar color on cedar wood is very rich. The honey is more subdued, but brings the color of the amber in the cedar out nicely. On OLD PT lumber I would go with Cedar. The Warm Honey Gold on old PT lumber doesn't seem to look as nice, but then I don't think ANYTHING looks decent on the gold family on old neglected PT lumber. Does this help? Oh yeah, you can blend the honey and cedar to make what some are calling New Cedar. Beth -
Wolmans Durastain

Have never used it...only stripped it. Soulds like it would be thick as molasses if they say the coverage is that good. But I don't know. Sorry.... Beth -

looks nice! Turns a brown color. Check out the scrap book area. I'm sure I have a shot in there of the Western Cedar on PT lumber. Beth -

There is an article about artillery fungus in the Library. The link also takes you to photos I think. Some people mistake artillery fungus for mildew. Both have a shotgun pattern, but only one is easily removed. There are probably other fungi that grow on siding too. Beth

Yes, you can. EFC-38 is a percarb but also a light duty stripper. It has a life of a couple of hours after mixing so mix as needed. Beth :groovy:

Sealer coverage???
Beth n Rod posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
What kind of coverage are you getting from which sealer? We are thrilled with the Wood Tux coverage. We did a deck that was about 16 years old and it was in miserable shape. Coverage was about 150 sq ft to the gallon. On new wood the best we have seen is 225 sq ft to the gallon. For the most part we are averaging 200 sq. ft to the gallon. Beth -
http://www.activa-products.com/ http://www.craftbasics.com/casting.htm Hope these help! :) The first one is the manufacturer site. I have not had time to read it yet.... Beth :groovy:

I would be inclined to very gently tell her that you are looking into the best way to remove the odor, and really don't want to bid until you have heard something back. Then I would call the people you contacted again. I would alsop be inclined to call the following, as they might help: kennels vets carpet manufacturer Ask them what they have found to be most effective at removing the odor. The kennels are your best bet I think....but the vets may be on track as well. Beth

Hi John, I'll get that out right away for you. I'll email you the last four digits, but for your security, I can't send you the whole card number. Look for an email...:) Beth

It's called Hang Time. It's $55.00 per gallon and you need only a little, 1 or 2 oz per gallon, to make it with your HD-80 to keep it up on vertical surfaces. If you're stripping it makes your life easier, becuaase it hold the product up there and helps you to keep it moist at the same time. BUT...you need to make sure you only make as much as you need ofr the job, and clean your sprayer, because it continues to thicken. It would be great on a house, if you are stripping it. Beth

HD 80 changed???
Beth n Rod replied to reed's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Reed, The change is due to a specific additive that does nothing more than help to keep the product from creating that fine powdery mist in the air when you pop the pail or when you are measuring it out. It's an improvement that is for the sake of safety. The formula is the same. :) Beth -
John, Call a marble and tile shop that caters to contractors. I'll bet they have the answer. Around here it's a company called Morris Tile in Gaithersburg, Md. But up your way, I don't know. Anyone who has to cut it and installit or sell it to those who do, will know. Beth

Benefits are being addressed at this time. You might want to check with Chris Detter and Everett Abrams (Everett checks in here from time to time) and ask what the latest developments are. I know they are looking at health care. Beth

Tim, I can only change a title for about the first 30 seconds of a threads existance on the board. This thread was in existance previously and then split. I can't change it. I tried. Wouldn't work. This is the title it's going to have.... Beth :(

The only thing I would do is balance the curve on the 'C'. The top just seems to me to need smoothing....on the inside... maybe that's just me... I think it's a nice image otherwise. Fits the slogan too. :) Beth

EFC-38 will leave a residue if allowed to dry. Rinse thoroughly. If you get a residue, remove it by...are you ready for this...applyinh more EFC-38. No kidding. Now, regardless of if it's Oxalic Citric, or Citralic acid, acid will etch glass. Be careful around glass with those chems... Rinse immediately if you get it on glass. Beth
