Ah Oh...The Moment of truth...it was a breeze and a pleasure. I introduce Linda and she talks about her family and her mother. Then her and I give out some plaques with the first one going to Eric Clark The PWNA President.. and along the way I tell the crowd why I did what I did.. I think everyone there got it. Most plaque recipients since they weren't PWNA members and whatever deal they were offered... they didn't show up. They missed a great time but they still received there plaques free of charge via mail... So it was all good.

The Demo's and the rigs were awesome...Hey look who popped in and old familiar face.. who has keeps on keeping on.

The Trade show was solid...and I'd be willing to bet that next year its going to be twice as large. You remember you heard that here first:)

Jackie who saved the day and worked so diligently in getting this convention together. She was a godsend and I think many would agree. To the popular classes that filled up the room..everywhere you looked you see a Convention well thought out and put together. It was aces.

Some more exciting photos. It felt so good to be around so many people that just believe that we all can help each other... I love that. Joe Walters the MC and always the Consummate professional. Robert Hinderliter up on the podium.. just a true inspiration. Just you can see it in there eyes all the happiness that was there. The first 2 pics are of My wife Kathy, Me, Andy Tosetti and Linda Ruth Tosetti. They were so excited to be a part of this.

There were some people I haven't seen in such a long time at the convention. Rory Wilson who is a heck of a good guy, Paul Horsley a past president who received a special Plaque, Chris Detter also another past president who thru Beth asked me to run for a BOD slot years ago(Thanks Beth:) ) and some others. As I was walking alone with Kathy with my suitcase full of plaques...right before I go into the main room...who do I see.. Walking right towards our direction.....any guesses??? A ghost.. Everett Abrams another past pres.He was not far from Nashville for a different thing so he stopped by.. We shook hands, and a shoulder hug (my other hand had the suitcase). A 20 second conversation since as usual I was running late... But one to remember. Then he left and I went into the room. Up on the Podium I mentioned a few names such as Chris Detter, Pete Marentey and some others who were in the room. I also mentioned Everett Abrams. That was a pleasant surprise to see Everett... And in case anyone wants to know not only did I give Everett Abrams a recommendation on Linkedin awhile ago I was going to his RT in August.. But that's when we got that garage in CT where my knee blew out just walking along.. Maybe I should of went to his RT instead :) Everett's doing good and he has never left the business.. But he is involved other businesses outside of Powerwashing also so it's good to see him doing well. Alot of us have buried old hatchets. We lived, we learned, we moved on.. And it's good to see some paths cross again where it's all good. Interesting weekend it was.

We had such a magical fun time at the PWNA Convention for the two days Kathy and I were there. A couple of days before we got stuck with a family unexpected terrible news... But with a chance of hope. Sunday morning my wife gets the worst phone call we ever had to deal with. She had to do a phone DNR (Do not resuscitate) since she is first choice by proxy. Thank God we were able to switch our flights. Southwest came thru huge. My wifes family was there and the question was could we get back in time. For the people who sent us there prayers my wife can't thank you enough(I still have religious issues but there starting to melt away) For those who offered to come out as far as 3- 4 states away to meet us and help us out.. That is completely humbling. Charlie Arnold who is not only a PWNA board of Director and is also a powerwasher just happens to be a minister not only mentioned Kathy's family members name along with some other names in front of the crowd contacted us at the airport in Baltimore when we were switching flights to offer his assistance by coming out to our home. I find it amazing as I move on in years how people really want to help each other out. I am not one to ask for nothing.. But I'm learning that some things in life I just can't do it alone.. To Charlie,Beth,Allison,Rob and many others from me to you I want to thank you for doing this for my wife. Its things like this that drive me to do what I can for others within this industry. That story that Allison has written about the Babe Ruth plaques by his Granddaughter Linda is not over. Linda has embraced this Industry. She has also embraced the PWNA along with the ***** and TGS and many people over at ***. There are good things going on outside of the net within this industry by quite a few.I'm still chipping away on what I can but my family of course takes precedence. Once again thanks for the good Karma.

To the ones that went I'm sure they felt the same way that I have about her. She is as friendly and as given a person one could meet. When on stage she went briefly because she was very respectful to not take away what this convention was all about. I went a little longer but I wanted to make clear what the message was. The show was a success all across the board. There was no money lost and in these days that alone says volumes. If you read Allisons online mag. She made it very clear what I was trying to convey. It was perfect chemistry. Linda last night Read Allisons story and she was so pleasantly surpassed how accurate Allison was that she called Allison to thank her personally. Now to get our lives back.... But I will when time permits continue onwards in the background to keep Linda's mothers dying wish moving and I will also keep the Powerwashers in the spotlight.... And lastly I want to thank In Linda's behalf and my own---Thank you Eric Clark and the PWNA in taking this risk with me. And most importantly I want to publicly thank my wife Kathy who did as much if not more work in this and she continuously did so even when we got some devastating family news. She handled that and this because she is so very special.

The one who has been asked to follow this from the beginning and to start with nothing which had to be hard but she went with her heart and rode it out and now has nailed down the story perfectly is Allison Hester of About Us- Pressure Cleaning Contractor Magazine I wanted her to take this on because from reading her past articles she shows alot of heart along with excellent reporting skills. She has her finger on the industry and to me she is like what a cop might deal with which is a street reporter. Cleaner Times Magazine did an excellent piece on Linda and Myself and they will have more to report down the road because there excellent also but Allison who has taken this on from the beginning has absolutely nailed it. Since I already used Some Cleaner Times Magazines to get where we are today... Allisons story is going to tell it. Man I had so much difficulty telling it....She nailed it. Her story is comming out this weekend and I would highly recommend anyone in this industry and outside of it to read it.....because she nailed it.. A huge thanks to you Allison.. For piecing it all together.

Good. I'm sure this isn't happening but if they did it's there's to do what they want.. And for you to accept there gift shows what type of person you are. You should stop for a second with your stupid remarks and wait until you get your story. Your compliments are aimed for third graders and there are no children in here posting. let's see if you can control yourself enough to wait and see what the truth is... My guess is you can't.

You can accept Williams story as factual because he knows what is going on and it's really about me learning about not hiding behind controls...... That's the net for ya.. Or you can read Allisons Story with the facts in there and then go back to Willams know it all story about this.... And then you decide. Is the net posters like William really know what he is talking about or do the real people people involved here know what there talking about.. Keep this thread open.. So this weekend you can talk soon of what you know....and William doesn't.

I'm going to leave this thread open so now some in this industry can Respond. I would suggest all read Allisons article because it going places. She is truly the messenger for us the Powerwashers.

Rick u gotta love those cedar shake jobs. There easy money except lucky you I can no longer deal with heights.. We did a job just last week that we got from here also on TGS that was a strip and stain job in the Hamptons. It paid really well and it took just two days to strip two decks and a house and then come back and stain it. I'll post pics when I get back from the PWNA convention.

My wife and I are fortunate enough to be 30,000' in the air on Southwest Airlines(amazing they have Wifi up here) after dealing with a family crisis at home. Her family is at my house right now so where able to get away for a couple of days to complete what we started out doing a couple of months ago. Where just about done then we can go back home and take care of what's happening back there. As for the Plaques I really tried to get them out to all around the same time Linda will be giving them out in Nashville. Because of some real positive industry news then devastating family news within hours later has caused a delay. So today I sent all plaques out the best way I can without breaking the bank for us and I paid for second day Air. Most should be receiving them by Saturday. There are around 2-3 who are getting there's next week and they have been notified of that. Cleaner Times has done a nice piece on Linda and myself and I want to thank them for that. They will I'm sure have more to report down the road on this as time goes by. There an Excellent Industry magazine. As for the story as to what is going on the one who has it all is Allison Hester from About Us- Pressure Cleaning Contractor Magazine. She was the very first person I asked to follow what I was doing when I had nothing. That alone is a story in itself. To have nothing but maybe a small theory with no direction known Allison has stood by and listen and waited.... Because I had... Nothing. The one thing I needed was people who have heart and can not just go by brains and common sense but they had to feel it... I read Allisons articles before hand and she shows that she has feelings in her writings.... And she was like a street reporter who stays in touch with the industry so that is why I reached out to her a few months back.....with nothing. Today Allison has it all figured out and since she was the one who was piecing this thing together along the way as I babbled on.... She has absolutely nailed it perfectly. The Ruth family is in for another surpassed when they see how this Industry writer...see's this and then went along.....and nailed it..perfectly. And that leads into the next post on that. Please do not call Allison and ask her because it's a hot off the press story.. Get her online mag to catch it for this weekend. A big hug and thanks Allison.. You did it.

Congress has responded. A national figure has also came thru. Apparently from what I'm hearing now is what I'm doing is in line with a national movement. Interesting stuff. I delayed my flight for one day to see if I can reach in just a little bit deeper so I won't be in Nashville until thurs. Night and then Friday the fun begins. Just to be clear there is no one going that isn't expected to be there. That one could happen another day. What I'm bringing down besides the Plaques and Signed pics from Linda and The PWNA bringing Linda and Her husband Andy down... What I have now is special and it could have never been done without all the rock solid people in this industry and to also the ones on those Plaques.

I'm having fun with all of this even though its at times mentally draining and disappointing. Today I met up with Linda at a Michael J. Fox Fundraiser. Linda and her husband Andy where limo'd in and given a suite to be at this event. The owner of this Company is a friend of Michael J. Fox so he had this Fundraiser in Michaels Name for the cure of Parkinsons disease. Michael J. Fox wasn't there but there's a chance I could meet him down the road. This Fundraiser happened to be about 10 minutes where I was earlier. I went home and got Kath and took her to it. That bottle from the Soprano's show signed and Louie Martini pics were given to us by this guy who is amazed at what is going on with Linda and the Powerwashers. They just love this story. Kath and I did give a small donation because I never go to these without donating a little something. Where I was before that I was there the day before to. I thought I had Peter King who loves this story but yesterday I went into his office to see how things are going and he was in his DC office. This guy is extremely busy and is very important to our national safety. When I met up with him 2 weeks ago he said to me that just make sure his secretary has everything.... So what I find out yesterday is the secretary forward the info to Peter in DC and all he needs to do is sign off on it and she tells me he gets stuff like this all the time. My response was OK...so what happens.. She tells me he is a very busy man. I tell her I really wanted this for the Nashville show. And she says she knows but it probably won't happen. Basically its in outerspace again. I know I am speed balling this whole thing because its just is moving around.. but I am so disappointed and I tell the secretary this. You live and you learn. I said to her that didn't you see us talking two weeks ago? I said do you remember when he was standing in the office and you didn't want to get him because he's very busy(She is an excellent secretary but in this world these guys are very well respected so you just don't interupt them) and then when I see him I yelled out "Hey Peter when You get a moment can we talk" and Peter comes out. Me and Peter talked because we have a very small history together from mutual contacts. We talk about that and our mutual friend who just died(My Union Attorney who I use to Powerwash his house for him and he always paid full boat because he wouldn't take it any other way). We also talked about on this July4th my family was at a firework show where he was heading with his grand kids when he was stuck in traffic where I was at. A young kid on his motorcycle hit this van head on and hurt the father and son in the van. Peter ask how the guy on the Motorcycle ended up... He died at the scene (24 yrs old). Peters grand kids saw the guy laying in the road but they didn't know he died. He was sad about that. He did make it to the firework show as did my wife and kids but I was there for hours and forget the show..this was another terrible call(Reasons why I'm retiring now). With all that Peter tells the secretary "Did you get everything from John" and she says yes. So now its in who knows where. I ask the secretary to tell it straight... it won't get done in time will it... and she said..I'm sorry. I'll send it again but he is very busy. In her defense she sent it again... I should have just closed the deal with Peter King. So I leave from there with Kathy. She says I did what I could... I am so disappointed because I usually deliver when I say I will. Kath and I go home. I also found out right before I went to Mr. Kings office I have rip in my knee over 1.5 inches which is substantial and is causing my knee to keep filling with fluids while it heals. My main guy for the first time in years called in sick the night before so Kathy had to switch some jobs(And of course one lady now cancels). Just a terrible day. So I get home. I tell Kathy I'm going to head out and call a couple of guys and stop in on one of them. She tells me to let it go.. She knows I'm disappointed. But I have to try one last time but this time go thru some people instead of doing this all by myself. So I take my file about all of this good deed stuff and out I go and wouldn't you know it Linda calls me to tell me where she will be at and its not far where I was and will be at again today. Small world. So tomorrow I should have possibly some news because I reached out as far as I can from who I know. I hated doing that but I know I have something here that is big and I just need to get one per with National name recognition to see this. So thats where I'm at. I'm trying to deliver something that usually takes a long time to do or in most cases never happens. I know I can do it but the time limitation is a killer.... but I look at it like I have 5 more days left... and I only need 10 minutes if I can reach the right person.... and this time I'm shooting past any secretaries. If it doesn't happen it won't be for a lack of trying and I am using now my calling cards. But either way I am very fortunate to get Linda Ruth Tosetti to see what I see and because of that..... we have these great pictures and her respect as she has mine. I think all who meet her will feel the same and for the ones who can't make the Convention you'll see her good spirit right in those pictures she's signed that will be in your mailbox and for the ones who I didn't get pictures for and I would have got everyone if I could have....just having her in the industry at this time.....is special. Back to the politicians...Don't count me out yet.

Now it's sit and wait. Today I got a response that one local politician here is making the calls into DC and I have a senator in the mix. Monday night they'll get word and Tuesday morning I should have an answer. I'm learning alot doing this and the more people involved at this stage of the game the better. Doesn't mean I can pull this off but it's sure challenging and fun trying. If it doesn't work this time and I stick around with industry stuff the next time it's going to be alot easier. I'll give the story up next week on this whole thing and why I chased what I did so late in the game. Linda's going to tell what happened about 20+ yrs ago at the Convention and from there I'll say what I tried to do and who I went thru and how it went. The story is solid but to get the powers to be in the game is tough even though it's a win across the board. We'll see what happens.

I just couldn't resist showing a very rare picture for Jeff Lecour who we all know is the Condo King. He may love the South but after he moved to the south his beloved Redsox finally won a world series. Jeff may love the South and who can blame him.. Life is so much more relaxing down there then it is up here where everyone is in a rush to go....nowhere. I was given those two other items tonight because "When I thought I was out...they drag me back in".. That Soprano bottle of wine is rare because its signed..I'll probably drink it this weekend. Louie Martini is a cool dude. Jeff gave the ***** and many others alot. He's no longer pumped up about PW orgs and who can blame him... but even though me and Jeff locked horns a few times because where passionate dudes... I think he was digging it if I can get him a rare picture for him and his brother signed. I think Someone may have called me chicken:) I only seen one of these pictures before. But I told Jeff I would do this months ago and even though I'm trying to deliver to this industry some Powers to be and now I'm locking horns with them to see what I see.... they will come around.... but you have to press on if you believe in something...and I believed Jeff should have this.... so now he does... and soon it will be in his mailbox... The Politicians on the other hand are a battle.... Read that in the PWNA section. I close those because they may be seen on the outside world. Enjoy Jeff....

I reached out to Eric Clark this past Sunday(Don't ya just hate it when I call on a Sunday) and besides very times I hate to call anyone on a Sunday. I felt I needed to talk to Eric about some pressing issues. We never spoke but we did do some phone tagging a few months back. I know what I am doing has many people confused. Tomorrow I'm heading back into Peter Kings Office because nothing is easy until it works. I'm taking risk that in Union life there worth taking because you end up bargening for what best for your members. There's an obvious difference to Unions and organizations. My methods are bang bang bang..to get it done. Organization methods are thru planning and sometimes its thru long term planning. So like what I'm doing on the outside with things I have now brought it into an org as far as risk taking goes. I would never suggest anyone do this because it generally will never work in the "Organization" world. Especially non profits which the the PWNA is. I needed Erik to take a risk if he can kind of see what I'm trying to do... and I can't give him much because its work in progress so when you don't have facts..speculation is just that.. which is hoping,guessing etc but its not facts yet and it may never be. So Erik wasn't offered anything but to just open up his mind and to break away from the norm just for a short period of time. I hated to go this way because I know how hard these orgs plan when it comes to Conventions. Any small thing can rock the boat on a planned and worked out program. So Erik listened and gave some thoughts and we also talked about what some of the risk could be... That was it. If he believed in what I am trying to do with very little info since he is the PWNA president he has to bring it to his board members and sponsors and try to sell them on something that is only a vision. How about taking that back to a structured not for profit group. So Erik came back in half the time he said he needed and said...lets go for it in so many words. Thats the gist of what I'm getting on the outside which is your doing a nice job but on the outsided I still havent got to the point yet of where Erik went. So I want to personally thank Erik for that.... and its things like what he did, What many others have done and what Linda Ruth Tosetti has accomplished that gives me the confidence to go right back in on the outside world and have a go back at it. And yes this has taken alot of work but I can't complain because My Powerwashing business is pretty much self running(My guys stripped a house in the Hamptons today from a lead we got right here on TGS) and since I've been out for a couple of months from my other job on my own saved time.... this has been fun. I am fortunate to have something like this to do since I've been so busy working two jobs for 16+ yrs and now I only for the time being have one.... and the best part is(Even though I won't stop trying until all avenues are exhausted or Kathy tells me to) if nothing else happens I am trully honored to have Linda give these plaques to the ones who will be in Nashville and I am just as honored to mail out to those who can't make it. Its been a fun ride... and if you know me... it may seem like it could end.. but don't bet on it just yet. So thanks Erik and everyone else who is making this all possible. John T.

Hopefully it can happen. The most surprising thing about Linda is she is a people person and on something so small.. I found out.. She is all heart... Very rare and in my opinion an extraordinary woman. She is one of us. There is no airs about here.. None.

This as many know was a sudden twist of fate. This is not any org sanctioned event but the www.pwna.org was gracious enough to allow me to bring Linda Ruth and her husband Andy Tosetti to there convention in Nashville TN Oct 20-22nd. Even though the Convention schedule was pretty much set the BOD's there read somehow my long winded emails about what is going on suddenly and how Linda Ruth was now being connected to the Powerwashing Industry. Linda is going to tell what caused her and I to meet and how we came to where we are today. Then she is going to tell some good and some heartbreaking stuff about her family and what she promised to her dying Mother who never was told she Was Babe Ruths true daugther until much later in her life. Linda will tell you what is driving her to keep Babe Ruths Legacy alive which isn't so much built around his baseball Prowess but more of the humanitarian aspects of his life and some of those aspects are of historic value. Linda may also talk about a Movie coming out next year produced by Tom Hanks Production Company which tells the true story about Babe Ruth called "Universal Babe" in there they plan on setting a few records straight about what Babe did outside of baseball. Its a Doc-u-drama where Linda will be in it. She may also talk about the mini-series that's coming out about Babe Ruth on HBO. Linda has one real goal at the end of the tunnel and that is to fulfill her dying mothers wishes. She has some stories to tell and some history that she has that is documented to talk about. Linda will also present each and every Plaque recipient there "Recognition Plaques" and many pictures of each will be taken. On the special 4 plaques she will give them out but I will tell a quick story about each and why I picked them. I will also say something brief why the other guys were picked. If time allows I am going to try to explain how and why I am going to try to get this industry recognized and hopefully be credited as the stepping stone to a very large story for this Great Country of ours. Past and Current Presidents and other powerful figures in our country will be receiving nothing but good info about this industry and hopefully us as an industry and Linda Ruth can get the recognition that we all deserve. So many guys are so very deserving to get these plaques and Linda was so generous to allow me to pick these 41 guys/gals but no one should feel slighted. These guys and Gals represent a very diversified group all aross the UNITED STATES all the way up to our beautiful neighbor CANADA. But more importantly these guys represent us the Powerwashers and distributors that believe in working together when needed and to help those that are less fortunate such as our war Hero's who come home and don't have much except the respect of us in the powerwashing industry who clean there homes at a very reduced rate which most of the times is FREE. to also cleaning some of American Pastime famous places such as the Cooperstown Hall of Fame Stadium all the way over to The lincoln Memorial Center. So all are invited to meet this great and wonderful woman and in my view "True American Royalty" because besides her fellow siblings there is no other Babe Ruth Blood line left on this planet. This country was sure as heck lucky to have her Grandfather who many consider the greatest American sports hero of all time and he was blessed to have such a dedicated Granddaughter who tirelessly preserves her Grandfathers Legacy which you can see on her website www.thetruebaberuth.com and we as an Industry are so very fortunate to have Linda who believes in the Kindness and the bonding and all the good things we do and Myself, as another famous Yankee said back in the day--"I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the Earth" to have met this outstanding woman who listen and listen to all of my stories and was gracious enough and has a heart big enough(Her Grand Father also was known to have a huge heart) to believe in me and to also believe in Our Industry and for that I will be forever grateful to have met her and you will to once you meet her in person. History will be here and you can be a part of it. Don't look at this as just an organization Convention....look at this as a game changer in our Industry and also in Linda's Life's cause we all need each other.. Linda's -itinerary -she maybe be floating around during the Friday snack and Chat RT's but she will definitely be at the 7pm-10pm Friday night Cocktail hour. First up in there will be the PWNA Contractor and Vendor of the year awards.. then from around 7:30-8:30 Linda and I will present the recognition plaques and she will also tell her story and upon completion she is available for pictures with her free of charge. Linda may also be giving out small Babe Ruth pictures to all that come to the Convention. Linda is looking forward to meeting as many Powerwashers as she can that day because she truly is fascinated about all the good we do and once again where lucky to have her....and she believes in us. As a good internet friend says "Life is Good"... and to that with Linda with us..."Life is good" A quick email from President George Bush SR's aid stating that the President is on board for what where doing even though He can't make it. I'm still waiting to hear back from his son and possibly Bono from U2 and Peter King a Congressman from NY who is also head of the house on Homeland Security. All of your work to recognize these fine people shows a great deal of caring, compassion, and respect and I am glad to see that people are still pulling together to honor those that should be honored. Unfortunately, at age 87, President Bush simply is not attending many events any more and though I know he is thrilled to hear about the good work you are doing he must regret participation. These days he is spending as much time with family as possible which keeps him close to home, either in Maine or Texas.
