LOL....I would vote for your sister also. I'm sure she has done alot more constructive things in her life then alot of the nitwits that are running our country. Celebrity's have always been the newsworthy stories to the writers. Thats life. Its all bullshizz but on this one I can see why they did that with Leonardo. Leonardo went out of his way to sign autographs for these people just to be a nice guy. Not much else he can do there but that. So I give him Kudo's for doing that so these people will have some good memories of what could have been a nightmare. Other Celebs would have never done that because there heads got way to big. It wasn't leanardo's fault that the writers wanted to only report that.

Common your being a little unfair to Leonardo. Give the poor errr rich guy a break. He's environmentally an upstanding individual as is Oprah Winfrey and many of there friends. Your not being fair. These people when not being driven in there 50' gas burning stretch limos or using there corporate Jets to go to the French Riviera a few times a month do for publicity purposes drive at most hardly never those free cars they get that are supposedly better on the environment then what it is that your driving. Stop being so harsh on these people....Jeeesh.

It was the night of Jan 25 1990 @ 9:34 pm. I was in the woods on a house call when this Jet came out of the sky and crashed. It was the Avianca flight 52 that came from Columbia and it was trying to land at Kennedy.There were aprox 158 people on board with many being kids brought to this country for adoption. This was LI NY worst disaster until flight 800 7 yrs later. Nobody new the plane was down. They only new it went off the radar. When I get onto Tennis court RD where John McEnroe and his wife at the time Tatem Oneal lived a cop with 30 + yrs on tells me there may be a small plane in the woods and he asked for 1 ambulance. Since it was a warm day for winter around 55 degree's with dense fog and thunder all around nobody heard this plane hit. The cop stayed at the end of the road to direct traffic up to the site. Me and this neighbor who was a Pilot decide to walk thru the woods and the further along we got we knew it was trouble. You can't see anything because the dense Fog was causing the light to reflect back into our eyes but you could here the screams from the ground up to the tree's. As we got closer with my flash light we can now see a line which is the perimeter of the plane. This is bad. Its still just the two of us. We go closer and now we can see it all. The Plane sheered the top of the trees and crossed over the road and broke into 3 parts. One was right in front of us on the road while the other part was on the hill and the cockpit in someones back yard on top of the hill. I look up I see kids in there seats blasted high into the tree's screeming. The noise all around was deafening and oh so very heartbreaking. So me and this guy do an about face and run back to where the cops and fireman were heading. Along the way we run right thru snapped electical pole wires that if they touch you, your cooked. We did not care. Now on this tape your going to hear my partner 24 seconds in saying what it is that we found. Now remember I know nothing about Jets but the guy with me is a pilot. You can hear me in the background telling Eddie its a Commerical Jet thats a 747 which that Pilot told me it was cause he was in shock. Thank God it wasn't because a 747 is twice the size of a 727 but still it was a disaster times 100. (if you put this link on the big screen you can see me at the 222 second mark in the back of the picture with my sleeves rolled up and flashlight in hand.) At that point me and this Fire Chief race back to the Jet as the fire trucks are coming. We climb into the Jet and walk around. The many kids on that plane were in total shock causing them to play hiding go seek in the Fusa lodge. They were oblivious. In the Middle of the plane many adults were dead. Up by the Cockpit the whole crew died. One of them I was standing on unkowingly at first because I was standing on a piece of metal and she was underneath it. Next thing you know the Fireman drop there hoses and run away like crazy as does the cops and civilians there to help. I get the word in there from the chief that an engine is smoking and now we see it. You smell fuel all over the place because they plane ran out of that. So where in trouble. The plane is going to blow skyhigh and Me and this Chief Todd are still in the plane with everyone else. I look at Todd and I'll never forget what I said "Nice knowing you man". So him and I climb down further in the plane to get the kids out. ThankGod and I mean this with all my heart..the plane did not explode. Some say it was an act of God because an empty Jet Fuel tank and burning smoke= explosion. This story is long so I'll shortened here. From what I understand just about all the kids live. Awhile later some of the drug carriers where pooping out balloons carrying Cocaine. The entire Crew died and they were mostly faulted because they didnt make it urgent enough while in the holding pattern that they were running out of fuel. I look it as they can't defend themselves cause there dead and also seeing the way the Pilot landed this plane they were more like Heroe's cause Kennedy kept denying them to land and they landed that Jet as good as you can in a darkened night and sacrificing yourself in doing this. 85 people died but just about all the kids lived. To get the story as to what happened I found a girl who was ejected at least 100' from the jet and she landed by a tree which she sat up against. I found her and she spoke very good english. She gave the story as to what happened in there. She was a saint and I wish I could have met her again. From what I understood she at most broke an ankle. So somebody else was wastching over her also. K just thought I would tell one of my darkest and saddest days and also one of the most rewarding days because of all the people that we helped by doing our job as Police and Fireman and Civilians should.

Hi Barbara--Thats great news. Your son is also a hero in our eyes. I just can't be thankful enough of these kids. I loved my 4 yrs in the Navy and I was that close back then in making that my career. Congrats to you and Tom and most importantly to your son.

This is either outdated thinking or just plain inexperience. All decks or wood for that matter should have some type of chemical or as we like to say "Cleaning Solution" on the wood before Power washing. A powerwasher is definitely a tool that is needed for decks. To use a garden hose with chemicals will just take to long but a Power washer with chemicals speeds up the process 10 fold and the cleaning itself is mostly done with the chemicals and the rinsing and rinsing again is done with the Powerwasher.

You guys are lucky. Just two weeks ago were averaging 6 days a week of work. The past two weeks have been slow. We worked 3 days last week and two days this week...but I am going on vacation for 10 days this Friday so the break isnt to bad. We do have a couple of jobs booked for when I get back and also have some commerical work but I need to get my guys going again for that 6 + day work week again for at least another 3-4 months and right now it doesnt look to promising unless I get some more calls for some big jobs I put in for. I'll keep my fingers crossed cause I do not like to ever be slow and this right now is to slow for me.

And also to add to what David is saying you better check the town ordinance where your doing this because it may be a Violation. Where I work its a Violation and if you get caught you will be summons and you will have to appear in court and explain it to the judge as to why you trespassed and Violated the Town Ordinance... Oh yea ignorance to the law never works. Besides that I to would not do that because I don't like it done to me. The first person I chase off of my property is the Jehova Witnesses. I can't stand them trying to shove something down my throat on my own property. My attitude to them is to take a hike..

Two jobs for 15 yrs with one always night work and the other one mostly daytime work....so how do I sleep?? Sleeping pills. Sliced and diced for whatever amount of hours I need. IF it wasnt for them I'd be dead and buried by now.....

What Rod says is what we do. I did the downstream thing years ago and it never worked as good as I wanted it to. Today we have a 15 gal tank on a hand truck that has the chemical mix in it and also about 30' of hose and a M5 X-jet at the end of the hose. We wheel that around the house and hook it up to the tip of the wand and presto the chem draw is amazing. No comparison for residential wash when using the M5 x jet and I down streamed for at least 5 yrs until I discovered the x-jet around 10 yrs ago.

As for that Titan Airless sprayer I gave it away free after many years of use. I gave it to a guy that I see at all of Tom Vogles Roundtables and for a year I said I would give it to him for free including the 100' of hose and the hose real thats attached to the sprayer. This cost almost a $1000 ten years ago with the extra guns(They cost over $100) This guy loves the airless and I love the Deckster... We may be doing a job coming up with the two decksters that will net me around $20,000+ a week and thats net. If this job goes thru which is in Corporates hands right now I will do a break down of this job on the net and how you can make this type money. The difference here is this company that makes the stone says you have to use a pump up sprayer and even though there cement making business is huge here and there on there fourth generation family owning it they never heard of the deckster. So once again GET THE DECKSTER....

Rick also look for someone selling a used one. I bought my second one from a Guy named Ray Johnson who bought one of Everett Abrams Franchises that didn't work out to well for him. His was used at most a couple of times and I paid for it with the hose attachments $300. Also I know this doesnt help you now but Pete and Tracy from Sunbrite tends to sell them a little bit cheaper at a Convention or maybe even a RT. A convention years ago I bought the first one. Either way you have to get one. They will make your money back in no time at all. Before then I would use an Airless sprayer and shoot the stain with 2700psi spray that damn near injected my skin a couple of times. So here's a piece of advice that will jump start your cash flow---GET THE SPRAYER!!!

I have two of them and Ive rebuilt the pumps a couple of times..but we've been using them for years and we spray all the time. Big time money makers. You'll be shocked how great they are and your going to say why oh why Didn't I buy one of these years ago. Big time money maker!!

Here is your better path.. Stop doing the physical work and make alot more money and have your buffers in place to deal with some of the bull**** because of the more money your going to make. Those Buffers are good employees with a lead guy in charge who can handle stuff that your handeling now if your doing the work. You on the other hand are out getting the work and counting the money and dealing with your lead guy who is now dealing with stuff that you dealt with when you did the work. Of course he doesn't have all the responsibilities that you had because your the owner but pay him well so he can take on some of those responsibilities.

ummm sorry to say a Met fan. Yankee's are the champs but for some odd reason I like to torture my soul by rooting for the Mets. I also root for the Jets another soul torcher...same goes with the Knicks and the NY Rangers.. all are heart breakers. I do like Hydrotek and Landa's though:)
