John T got a reaction from Beth n Rod in The good old days when Bulletin Boards Rocked!
With Facebook swallowing up everything in its path around the globe making so many platforms obsolete, it never became the beacon of professional information like these Industry Bulletin Boards did at the turn of the century up until about 6-7yrs ago. I had great memories on this particular bb here that came to mind today which is why I'm posting this now.
For this dinosaur these memories I call....the good old days.

No comment as of yet. Last year we used Cabots, Benjamin Moore,Sikkens and Wolmans and none of them was that great.
Like Matt Johnson's says -- every year I want to get away from staining anything but every year we get to many jobs that it's to hard to walk a way from.. And when a house or deck comes out nice there is nothing better to look at in any type of work we do..

If the gutters can clean up nicely with our house wash mix then we spray them. Most cases we just apply our gutter cleaner with a brush.

I can't answer for others, but for us it is for 2 reasons.
In the U.S., making your own makes you the manufacturer and without proper D.O.T. licensing and HAZMAT regulations in place, it becomes a liability situation.
Other than that, it is for the convenience of being able to give that headache to someone else. I enjoy being able to pass the scales knowing I am not
    in violation doing so.
The products we purchase and use also support the businesses that sell them and I believe in that.

Go on Facebook and look me up under John Tornabene . Then hit me up on a PM and I'll connect you over to the "Professional Garage cleaning" group I'm running. There's plenty of pictures of large surface machines on that including ones you can drive.

Jeff welcome to the grime scene. Every area is different as far as fees for cleaning concrete in Missouri we charge 12 cents to 15 cents a square foot. I believe the approach would be to find out what other companies are charging for cleaning concrete in your area. As far as cleaning every one is different and uses products that they like or work good for them. Personally I use EBC cleaner works for me not the most inexpensive but this is what I like the product. There are a lot company and suppliers out there that you choose from. Good luck to you.

From your background, you should already have a good idea as far as chems....it's acids, caustics, or bleach.....the job determines what is to be used. I know what "we" should be charging, the question is what should "you" be charging.....I have no answer to that....only you know. It could be as low as $.05 per sq. ft. or as high as $1.00 per sq. ft......depends on the situation & job....many factors play into pricing......Good luck!

    Thanks for the reply.

Also just want to say thanks to you and Beth for creating this community and wealth of knowledge.  And to all the contributors.

Was reading through this post of cold weather hints and point #2 made me realize we're missing the bypass line when running antifreeze.

We just use a funnel and pour until we see antifreeze come out of the whip.  Now I'll have to make sure to put a gun or a valve on to get it into the bypass.

    That's one headache I now won't have.

I've got limited experience as a contract cleaner so far (5 years, but really only started learning in the last 2), but I am a techy guy so hopefully that's where I can help provide some knowledge.

I'll start a new topic in the next little while and see if there is any interest.

It is my hope that they learn from their mistakes and gather the consistency to follow through to the end with all the

If its above freezing and there's work that can be done we do it. This time of year when it gets slow every job we get now is more money I can squirrel away for those snowy days that are coming.

Tom and Barbra Vogel of ACR Products started this early Spring seminar 12 or maybe 13 yrs. ago. For contractors. A get together, pig roast, pep talk, and education in March to get contractors set and excited about the coming season.
Jack Kramer was involved early on. Wonderful presenter and knowlegible in the business. Last year, Thad and the PWRA got involved. The best industry event I have attended.

This ice damming is for commercial flatwork only for a particular object. My connection has 6000 accounts and I will be covering the 5 Borroughs of NY city and possibly a chunk of NJ. This work sucks but a friend of mine made over a 100grand doing this so with those #'s I'm willing to role the dice.

Gearing up for commercial ice-damming with one of my trucks. I may regret this because I'll be on call whenever they need me. Could even be called on Christmas day. The money side is good because we get paid the minute we leave to the minute we get back.
Right now where doing gutter clean outs and and an out of state Parking Garage thanksgiving day weekend which is going so suck but it will help pay the bills.

We used to do Ice Damn removal as well. Cold work and a bit treacherous in the snow of yards you have not been on before and are trying to find
    good footing for ladders.
God I hate getting snow down the back of my jacket...

    You where right Rod,
I could suck air through the top left check valve,it was also the dirtiest one,,I replaced them all.

I believe that one leaky valve caused the problem,,will find out tomorrow.

There's a big difference between drilling out a red tip and using a "shooter" tip. Its like going to a shooting range with a handgun and a rifle to do some long distance target practice. The barrel of the rifle makes a world of difference in target shooting for long distance as does the barrel of a shooter tip.
$30 for a pinpoint accurate shooter tip that give you excellent distance as well is money in the bank every time in the powerwashing business. Its also great for safety reasons because it keeps you off ladders and saves your back because you'll use your extension wand much less often so it's a "win win" in my book!

Although we needed to rent a lift for this job ($2000.00 a day) just think if we could've done this job with just a shooter tip.......check this out..... https://www.facebook.com/1481593435427740/videos/1629547223965693/

No that's not normal. First off you don't want to starve your pump for water. If your running into issues where the spigot on the houses is not supplying enough water then you should have a buffer tank setup where your powerwasher is running off of that. Starving your pump for water causes it to cavitate which you might be feeling when you squeeze the trigger. If you don't correct this problem you'll eventually have to rebuild your pump.
Also check your filter to make sure the screen is not clogged because that to can cause your pump to cavitate as well as any air in the water feed line so check that as well.
If everything checks out fine & your still having problems then most likely you need a pump rebuild.
