  1. I've been reading all the posts on estimate sheets. It seems that everyone types them then fills them in by hand once on site. I was thinking about taking my laptop and printer with me, and type all the estimate. Does any one else do this? Or am I going too far? Thanks.
  2. Concrete cleaning with Oxalic

Kinda what I've been running into. It's been months since I've even sold a driveway cleaning and my prices are more than fair, but once they hear the price, it's all over. "just the house will be fine" is the normal response. O well I hate doing concrete anyways.
  3. super sud sucker

I get the $15 fixed ones from pressure tek. They work pretty good. Never tried the supersuds suckers, couldn't justify the cost.
  4. machine shutting down

The first time I changed my oil, I was told by the guy at the store it took 1.5 qts. Wrong. There was so much oil in it that it came back up into the carb and soaked the air filter, choking the engine off and ruining a new filter. That's what I get for listening to the guy selling me parts. Ha
  5. Gutter cleaning ?

MAX pressure. And aim it towards the house.... Just kidding... Get on a ladder scoop that crap out by hand and rinse it with a garden hose.
  6. Site Glass

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be half way up the site glass when not running.
  7. Looks good! +1 on the signage. What is that behind the reels? Do you need the gate or could you take it off? Taking it off might make it look less like a utility trailer, and might free up some space for a small diamond plate tool box. Just my $.02.
  8. Found in winter storage.

    Oh that's very cool.
  9. How long would this take you?

1 hour? Geez now I feel like the slow one.
  10. How long would this take you?

JUST the house, no driveway, walkways, etc. 3 hours maybe. Based on those pics, and those trees. Trees are NOT your friend. Oh, and I have a 5.6 with a buffer tank, and Guy's shooter tip (quickly becoming my favorite tool.)
  11. Payment

Very cool. I fear by the time I can say that my grand kids will be wheeling me around, haha Seriously, big congrats!
  12. Commercial accounts

I was wondering what was the best way to start getting commercial jobs, like fast food, banks, gas stations, etc. Is personally approaching the manager/owner effective, mailers, or some sort of specific advertising like business journals best? And if/when I do get some comm. jobs, how often and what kind of repeat bus. discount should I offer?
  13. That is so cool. Congrats!
  14. That's pretty cool, Rick! Is that a TR6? Those things are a blast to drive. I restored one for a guy a few years ago, fun fun cars.
  15. Thanks Rick, it took two weeks, but I was working on other cars along with it. It was neat to do something custom, fixing everyday wrecks has become very boring.
  16. Thanks Russ! It was definitely a departure from the usual wrecks we fix every day.
  17. Here's a picture of it finished.
  18. My current day job. It was a total that the owner bought back from the insuance company. He brought it to us in pieces.
  19. Rick, very neat. I bet they are worth a pretty penny when your finished. I love to see old things being restored, its keeps history alive.
  20. hose barb?

What's the msrp gonna be Guy? (I pay cash for new toys.) Seriously, hows yours different than an 0040?
  21. hose barb?

  22. Do you have pics, Rick? Sounds pretty cool. (of the radios, I hate snow.)lol
  23. Should I walk away?

I would run, not walk. Do a google search.
  24. Why don't you just buy one haulmark, renegade makes some real nice totor homes and trailers. They are purpose built for racing, so just order one that is gutted so you can put your equipment in it. http://www.renegadedirect.com/index.html
