If you sell price, you will price yourself out of business. No disrespect Guys, but you have to charge a price that makes your Company a profit. Sell yourself and the benefits of using your Company. -

John Deere pressure Washer?

Offer $500.00 -
Knock on the door and do a Face 2 Face. Sell your service.

I use all those points, when selling. I think the homeowner just wants reassurance when they want their property washed. The better question is "Why Should I Use Your Company???" I'm starting to see this question more every year. I sounded like an Idiot the first time I was asked that, caught me completely off guard.

Should the PWNA have an active Bulletin board again??
Guy B replied to John T's topic in PWNA News, Events, and Information
Oh I totally agree with Celeste & Henry!! There are enough boards out there to spread the word. If PWNA puts up a board it should be private, but I think it would be a mistake. It seems the PWNA is rebounding rather nicely without a BBS! -
If you're ever in my neck of the woods, give me a holler, I keep 20 or 30 of them all the time. If you need a few, I got'em.

Looks like I will be getting 2 or 3 this year:)

Starting a new company, would you recommend this package?
Guy B replied to Alan Lindo's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Mark, William loves Kohlers. He puts 1000's of hours on machines every year, so he's just expressing his view on equipment. I disagree on the Honda issue from my experience, but I don't put near the hours on equipment as William. William didn't put his website together, that pic looks snagged from Northern Tools, I can tell that he doesn't use "Yellow Noodles" -
Hey thanks Man!!! Yea we're slow too, getting ready for warm weather! Working on our marketing for spring, money going out and a little coming in, but thats what happens this time of year. But don't worry spring is right around the corner, then we'll be rolling in the dough!!!!!! Good talking to ya Buddy!!!!

need help picking new unit
Guy B replied to premiumpowerwash's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Mark, having heat is a tremendous advantage, especially if you live in a cold climate area like you do. Degreasers are a case in point. Most degreasers have Sodium Hydroxide in them, SH works better when heated. Most chemicals react better when heated. I feel everything washed with hot water, washes faster and better..........and some will disagree. I look at it this way, if you have dirty nasty clothes, what temp do you wash them in??? Got dirty, greasy dishes? Do you wash them in cold water? Only thing I wash with cold water is wood. Just my .02 -

Kory's having a NCE event right there in Fla. you might want to check that out. Rig price is high IMHO. Again please do your home work before buying equipment. I understand you can't sling a dead cat, without hitting a Pressure Washer in Fla., just food for thought. -

More gpm = faster washing= more money period. Does 1 gpm make a difference "Yes", big difference "No". I started out with 5.5 Alkota hot water skid. I have 2- 8 gpm hot water skids, and will never go with anything under 8 gpm, ever!!! Whether it's heavy equipment, houses, building, decks or whatever, more gpm = more money in your pocket. If you're buying new or used look at Alkota & Landa. Best Of Luck!!! -
I will be joining this month.

Got it running! No pressure?
Guy B replied to jgotterb's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
You can get a tach/ hour meter combo from any small engine shop. With 16hp you may only get 3000psi 5gpm. I have an Alkota 20hp 3500 psi 5gpm it has the same pump. Is this a 12volt unit or 120volt with a generator? Might want to consider dropping nozzle size to #5 -

What size nozzles are you running? How many feet of hose is on the machine? What hp is the motor? Motor should be running 3400 rpm. -

Yep, craigslist, ebay, local, I've purchased equipment from both. I would strongly suggest Phil that you learn as much as you can about running a Pressure Washing Business before you purchase equipment. Washing is the easy part, running a successful business is not. You see the reason there's so much used equipment out there is that people thought it was an easy way to make money, and I guess to a certain extent it can be, but the phone needs to ring every day. Threre's a saying in the Industry, "Pressure Washing Is The Easiest Business To Get Into, And The Fastest To Get Out Of" Thanks! A Company here in N.C designed that for me. I need to tweak the SEO a bit.
