  8. Hey thanks for the reply. I'd love to come to Rocky Point and watch you do your inlaws house. What type of blasting material are you using? Let's work out the dates and see if we can get together and do this. I kind of need advance notice so I can book a hotel room. I'm pretty flexible this time of year, and I'm really interested in learning how.

I know all the guys in McClellanville that shrimp or fish and I'd been up to Moorhead to go bluefin tuna fishing. Again, thanks for the reply, I didn't think I'd get one. Send me your phone number and we can talk on the phone.

    Thank you.

  9. Dinnis,

I just bought a Pro Blast pot for log home work and whatever else.

I have cleaned one house Using A Clemco, that had a latex stain. Worked good.

I have not tried the new pot yet (bought it used ) but going to asap. Probably experiment on my in-laws house.

Im in Rocky Mount, NC. you are welcome to come up. We will have to work out the time to do it.

Also, I grew up in Morehead City area, have alot of fisherman family and friends. Some used to go th Charleston and McCullinsville shrimping....back in the day.

  10. Hello. I have really appreciated all the sharing of knowledge on this board. I have greatly benefited from it in the past. I'm hoping you can help me now with a question I have. I want to try soda blasting, but all the sites I have checked out are not very informative. I want to blast wood, but am not sure if cob blasting or sodium bicarbonate blasting is better for wood. Also, all the equipment sales sites just want to sell me the biggest and best stuff. What size compressor and hopper are really needed for this? I'd really rather be able to mount it on a trailer, and not have to mortgage the house to do so. There is a lot of boat hulls down here on the SC coast, not to mention all the rust everywhere here from the salt air. I think these 2 things show a real need for soda blasting. I am in Charleston, SC, and would be interested in offering free labor in excnange for some training on soda blasting. Is anybody within a 250-300 mile radius of Charleston interested in helping me out? thanks again for all your help over the years. Now I just want to have a blast. Dennis

  12. Ipe Cleaning and Staining

Why don't you two take it outside, to the backyard. Quit your bickering and act like a professional. I hear enough of that from my kids, I don't need to hear it here as well.
  13. I need some help please

im going to give it a try. any body ever had this happen? jump in on this thread.
  14. I need some help please

I'm Dennis, and I have a company in SC that does both residential and some commercial work. I have been a member of the Grime Scene for almost 2 years, mostly lurking, posting occasionally. This has been a great site to find answers to problems, and I greatly appreciate everyone's knowledge and expertise. Here's my problem. I have two tanks on my shurflo rig. One tank has a clear braided hose, the other came with a black automotive heater-type hose. I think the black hose slightly melted on both the inside and outside of the hose, from contact with the SH, 12.5%. I discovered this after washing a house, and finding black residue stuck on the windows. The house had aluminum, not vinyl, siding. I don't know if that makes any difference. The house wash mix that I use is Steve's RP Citroclean, with the proper mix. My problem is removing the black residue. I tried scraping with a razor blade, using standard window cleaners, including Windex, and a vinegar and water mixture. It won't come off. I even tried a foam bathroom cleanser, but that didn't work. Oven cleaner doesn't work. Has anybody else run into this problem? How did you get the residue off? I am definitely going to change the hose on the tank. Could it be that the aluminum oxidized, and that is what is stuck to the window? Or do you think it was from the hose, like I suspect. This is a great place to learn. Thanks for all your help. Dennis
