Adrian replied to Adrian's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Wow, great idea. I have heard of Ritchie Bros auctions. They are probably in Houston as well. What a steal you got. I would love to have a floor sander. Then again I like that they paid for themself with the gear you sold. -
yep, let their ins. cover it.
-
Where ya at? Whatcha doing? Staying busy in DFW or IAH. How's the PW biz doing? Selling alot of spas? Stuck in traffic?
-
Study, but I want more woooooooooood. ....and a walk behind sander.
-
Why don't you land the work and sub it out if you don't want to do it? Make money for governing the project.

We will Start Stenciling everything in sept
Adrian replied to Ron Musgraves's question in The Club House
I think it will bring additional business. However, I also feel you will be fielding calls with potential customers being angry until you pacify them and land the jobs. People tend to have a high and mighty attitude, and may feel you have undercut their ( self imposed) authority to do stenciling without their authorization. I still feel it will bring in business once they have the sales pitch Ron will throw at them. Good luck Ron, keep us posted. -
Yea I said to him he is just doing his job early on. That was befor he spanked him/her. But you could see in the guys eyes that the dog was annoying him and it was making him mad that the dog was scratching the door up from the inside. It took me a few attempts for me to get up the cahoonas to say anything at all. I started packing up before I said anything. Then.... caboom. " Hey Honey, guess what, I called my first customer an A hole today" I have friends on doggie forums here in town that can send me in the right direction with this. Did I say friends? more like doggie mercenaries.

Drive-by cleanings? Customer sees the stencil and wants the rest cleaned. Calls the number, Ron throws the sales pitch and fills them full of candy jars and BAM.... another cha ching with a chicken wing. ...sign on the dotted line please. -
Right on
-
That's the absolute funniest thing I've ever heard you say Dan. I run because I have respect for the racoon. I have no respect for my ex-customer. No higher than the mold I came to clean.

Wow. Nice project Ken. Pls. post pics when done.

Have had a pair of Besingi's over the years that were "Human" smart. It really sucked to lose them. I said no more broken hearts to dogs dying. I bought myself a Parrot almost 3 decades ago, who has been the best pet I've ever owned. He will live to be around 100 yr. old. Hopefully outlive me. However, I don't think any critter should be spanked. Spoiled but not spanked.

Some jobs are just perfect!

....that actually looks fun Rick. It's a 1000 degrees in the shade here. -
You're right Rick, I know. The resi was in a nice upper tier urban downtown neighborhood. All the houses and people were "Stepford" pretty. Looking at the guy and initially talking with him went well. It just went downhill when the dog started to annoy him. It's all good and I'm less tattered now but none the richer except in mental taxation. .....this to shall pass. lol.
-
Thx Pat, The whole thing just sucked at any price.

Well Rick, He is a Service Magic customer who has the option of rating & reviewing me. Plus I am sure he has his version of what went down. He probably saw a contractor who had a seemingly bad attitude and poor customer service. The good thing about SM Rate & Review is a feature that allows the contractor to respond to the customer comments, which I have used a 1000 times to say a positive word about customer. Imagine his bad review amongst all of my 4.0 - 5.0 star ratings. As well as my "not so kind, but professional" response. One could only hope , I guess. I have already found out that Houston P.D. can not do anything about it except take notes on a report and ad a file #. Plus hopefully it was a one time thing. I have always made jokes about the breed of dog as being a "Drop Kick" dog. But it was all in fun. I can't imagine the little guy taking it like that on a dailt basis. He was a real small pooch. I do not like this guy and he does not like me. And we both know it, now. ........breeeeeeaaaath.
