2008 contracts, disclaimers, etc...

I saw this site on a tv ad. legalzoom.com all kinds of forms and such. -
it really depends on what you are cleaning off of the concrete. There are different applications for different types of cleaning. No 1 chem is a do all clean all. For general cleaning, sh12% soap type mix is most common for molds and algaes.Among others. Most would say. Most important..... do you have a surface cleaner for cleaning concrete.

Best Sprayer For Stain Application
Adrian replied to dperrin's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
"D", you will have overspray with just about any sprayer. Sometimes it pays to take a little extra time to tarp areas prone to overspray. I think we all end up with a roll or two of poly plastic in the beds of our trucks for that reason. I started with a wagner and ran a lomger hose directly into the 5er's of RS. Worked great and still will!!!! Then I purchased a Deckster. The dif is like night and day. BUT get a varible degree cone tip instead of the fans. Much better in my opinion. Deckster, Titan, are all great. Take a 15 ft clear poly hose and attach it to the wagner and do any with the little cup. Then draw straight from the 5er. Probably only cost 5.00 find out. Once you start getting slammed with deck work you will want a Deckster or Titan. By the way, the guys at Sun Brite are super. I dealt with them in person for several years. Get with Tracy. He wrote the book. -
John, your passport is in the mail. You have been nominated, "mate"

Real difference between 4 and 5 GPM?
Adrian replied to Peak Mobile Wash's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Jeff.....Bottom line...... straight from the manual ( if there is one ) words of wisdom. nice!!! my .02 is this.... as a one man op, there is a very prosperous avenue with wood resto as well. Since I am sure deck washing will be included more often in the resi market. You will see alot of it. Might as well learn the resto side of things. Not that commercial doesn't pay well. But, there can be an overwhelming fatigue whereing so many hats int the commercial side of things as a 1 man op.What always feels best to me is that wood resto has never been on a Net 30, 60, 90. I have actually done better $$$ with resi than comm. But that is just me. Decks pay better. I guess I just like it simple. Best of luck in whatever direction you go. Happy New Year to everyone as well...... it's been a while. -

Bring your trailer with you and give a demo. Some will hire on the spot, some will start the chain of events for you. Remember that whoever you are speaking with on the phone or face to face, make them feel that they are the most important person in the world. Beause they are!!!! They are the ones that will send you in the right direction through " first contact". Chain businesses will take longer to establish vs. a stand alone business with the owner onsite. Follow up and keep asking questions. Main question after demo and follow up is "when can we schedule" and "are you still interested. Direct and up front with your questions will save you time and cut to the chase. You can concievably make 1200 cold calls on the phone in a month and it will at least yeild SOME work. Depending upon your sales pitch. Cold calling requires alot of smiling and tough skin. follow up follow up follow up.

Great idea Jon. Iam all about having a round table here in Houston. Starting to mill the idea around in my head a bit. Maybe by Spring it could happen with proper planning. side bar........ I was hoping to contact you while I was in ABQ for the balloon fest. Did you make it this year? I thought it was awesome this year. Crazy schedule I had. Maybe next year we can meet up.

Not everyone knows about the Grime Scene. But there are ALOT of contractors in our area alone Gene. At least 50 ads in the yellow pages. Plus there are many who offer PW as a side service. There is alot of competition ( if you actually look at it this way). Most I have seen are newbies and there are several well established firms out there as well. I certainly wish they would all chime in to show an interest in a Round Table. It could be a quarterly event IMO. Help us all stay current with the technology and continued education.

Black spots on locust?
Adrian replied to Neil_Asheville's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I took picture of one today that I stained in April with Bakers that has the "black bumps" on several planks and has pushed through the stain. Deck is 5 years old, so it would not have been recently imported. But, that does not mean that it is limited to new wood. Or could it be more airborne after the fact from imported wood. Back to the labs. -
ready seal on blacktop driveway
Adrian replied to jnoden's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Hopefully the asphalt and Ready Seal (being oil based) will pull into each other. I am guessing that the RS did not discolor other than making it look darker???????? Maybe you are on the right track with warm water as the other chems we would normaly use ( more than likely) break down the asphalt. Might try the warm water with soap surfactant and stiff bristle it for a while to see what happens. -
That is sooooooo sweet!!!! Details pls.
