  1. African watering hole

I think I just saw Baloooooo
  2. I just sold my tank because I won't need it for the move back to Texas. Simple trailer setup really. 2 summit hose reels 2x8 planking. Really thick steel tubing all the way around. It has a long tongue on it which would have been great for a tool box, but I mounted a spare tire instead since the suburban has a tool box inside the size of a football field. Heavy duty leaf springs that barely depress with a full tank. 15 inch 60 series tires with alot of meat on the road. I also had a welder mount a ladder rack on the side above the fender. All in all a real find. Simple and basic as compared to the big boys, but it gets the job done real fine. I am very pleased with the truck and trailer setup I have now. A bit retro looking and not too modern at all. But I've got my xjet and a good ride to use it now. i will get a new tank when I get to Texas. They are a dime a dozen there.
  3. African watering hole

I saw the gazelles too, it was pretty cool to see them practice fighting.
  4. What did you do before becoming a Pw'er?

Transportation logistics and brokerage for the freight industry. 25 years started behind the wheel of tractor trailer and eventually ended up behind the desk brokering commercial aircraft. Lots of Customer Service, lots of money, lots of headaches. ........ oh yeah, can't leave out the fact that I have been a signed musician in Texas for over 20 of those years and still jammin. PWing has been a really good business for me. I have applied my previous experiences to this field.
  5. Acorn Stains

I'm with you Michael. SC the flat work first then spritz SH light rinse if any . roll up get paid move onto the next. A time or two I have used lithium Hydroxide (photo chem) on super stubborn stains. You have to babysit this stuff and not let dwell too long or it will alien blood itself to the core of the earth. Not recomended except for last resort in my book. But it lifts ,pine cone and needle , acorn, oil etc.
  6. Restora

I spoke with Mr. Carter yesterday and he told me that some were getting as much as 25.00 per shutter.
  7. African watering hole

Cool site guys. My Parrot is from Africa and when he heard some of the animals noises from the other room ..... he went nuts. Could be he heard some of his relatives.
  8. Married for the night.

Praying to God a man asked the question, God, what is a million years to you. God replies and says, " it's the same as a second". The man then asked, "God, what is a milliion dollars to you?" God replies and says "it is the same as a penny" The man then asked God, " well ( heh heh) can I have a penny?" God replies and said " sure my son,..... just give me a second"
  9. I landed a resi from Service Magic last week from a lady that was being told by the city to comply with appearance codes. The city has been sending everyone with dirty homes letters for compliance. This area is not part of a H.O.A., just regular small properties in the city. There were other PW firms on the block behind me. My back hurt so much watching them work their knowledge with their wobbly 15 foot wand and 40 degree tips hanging from ladders and such. And little 'ol me with just my trigger handled xjet. Kidding. This is the area for the "Deadliest catch" right now and I did 2 more resi's today from referrals in that area, 2 more for Sat. ( what is wrong with me working on a Saturday?) There are others firms getting business as well. It's like this area is a hotbed, I thought Summer was over. Here's the question: I had never considered researching what cities are enforcing this code. Is there a way to find out what is being enforced at any given time? Website? Technical name for the dept. superviser of codes enforcement? Pelt the neighborhood with postcards hard and heavy before the ice forms? I thought the season was taking it's last breath but it is putting up a good fight before the holidays. I am stacked up for a lone ranger. It is starting to get a little chilly but I will hold out as long as the season does. Any thoughts? Suggestions? I am already a registered vendor for the county that is doing the enforcing, and would think that the county would implement their current resources, but I must have missed that phone call. I know once Dec. hits, that's it, put away the deckster and start loading the moving van. The resi's will be spending $$$$ on the holidays. The ads run out at end of Nov. I just want to take quick advantage of this compliance thing. Then I will pack the xjet in it's custom stainless steel case with retina scan entry.
  10. Any real estate gurus out there

Philip Doolittle is in this field as well. He may be able to help you.
  11. Restora

So if I were able to up sell an entire vinyl home restoration job. Is this product able to be applied with a Deckster, or must it be rolled on? I know this may seem like a silly question. I am just considering the time on the job if I had to roll it and what to charge, which would probably be significantly higher than using a Deckster and saving time.
  12. Water supply question

Your length of hose from the bed of the truck to the pw will be a factor. even with the amount of drop. The shorter the length the better.
  13. Restora

Hi John, Welcome to the board. Atlanta will be having a round table on Dec 2 2006 ( 90% confirmed still need location). Would you or one of your reps be able to attend? I'm sure that it would be well worth your time and investment as many of the Ga. contractors have expressed an interest in your product. I myself can hardly wait to try the sample pack you sent. By the way, thanks for that as well. It seems like a great product to upsell onsight. Please consider the ATL Round Table. Philip Doolittle has assumed control of the logistics and planning for the RT. He is on this forum quit often. Again, thanks for the sample.
  14. Residential Compliance

They do have a code enforcement branch. Cool. They send a scout out at one time period to evaluate. The reports are then pushed through the chain, stats and write ups, and dispatch. That takes about a month or so for any given area, for the notices to be sent and start the clock???????. I think , depending on the situation, repair or cleaning etc. they are given 60 days. For the homeowner, it has got to be a pain, esp. this time of the year. Keep in mind that these H.O.'s have no idea the direction they need to go to even get things started. This is not ghetto areas like some of my favorite places downtown, but they are not upscale homes. Some in serious need of various repairs also. I was however unable to get a list of upcoming notices and areas. My guess is that they are covering quadrants. I think it would be a real crapshoot to guess what area to hit w/ postcards. But the referral business is great. So I could at least eliminate a % of advertising cost since they are referrals. Which would bring me a step closer to closing. At least with my being in the same area for a bit it should bring more customer for the last boom of the season. I am considering one of the boxes that you can mount on your work truck, that holds business cards and they can simply just get a card and call me. Anyone ever hear of the box. Where can I pick one up. I know, I know, check the forums.................. Off to the trenches. Everyone have a great day! I love my xjet
  15. Restora

I guess I will try it on my own shutters first. Seems like a good point to up sell the shutters vs. entire house. I am getting an extra 40.00 with carnuba on the house and that seems pretty painless for the customer. But, I am sure I can upsell shutters. I'll give it a shot.
  16. Sodium Hypochlorite Prices

Yea, I love Sunbrite and their staff, but it is a 95 mile round trip for me and I make the trip for stains and strippers, but go through so much SH Ga. Chem. is about half in mileage. Time was everything this Summer for me. Both places are great it just depends on what I need. Hey Jeff call me about the ford, I really need to unload it soon.
  17. Sodium Hypochlorite Prices

Hey Rob, same here. The new truck is great. It's amazing this school bus has so much freaking power. 454. 10 gallons to the mile. lol
  18. Sodium Hypochlorite Prices

Hey Rob. Georgia Chemical 85 N from perimeter exit Beaver Ruin turn right. Go through next 3 lights Big blue sign on the right hand side. just back in fill up and pay. Those guys are painless to deal with and have only raised their price .15 in the past 2 years. pretty great selection of toys.
  19. Sodium Hypochlorite Prices

  20. You can never be found. How's the hunting been? Probably getting just right in the mountains.
  21. Ill pimp it modern, just give me a little time. Going to install electric lock pumps and alarm first off. There is a key for the door which is a seperate key for the ignition, and then even another key for the electric window in back. Then gun turrets and sheilds, and a cattle gaurd. I just got through installing the "whip" cb antenna for the real retro look. Gotta run, Charlies angels, Dallas, Dynasty, and 3's company is on.....
  22. LMAO Ken, coffee through my nose. What an excellent rumor. 10 gallons to the mile!!!!!!
  23. Worker dies in PW related accident

I'm with Carlos, know your limits!
  24. I should break even with the sale of the ford, it's more recent. Right at 3k$. As far as preference to vehicles, my preference is my mini 500 revolution helicopter, as for work trucks and performance, if everything works and gets me there, it doesn't matter the vehicle. I prefer to be airborne anyways. Less traffic up there!!!
  25. Good point, I thought he had it that way to draw more air. I will put it the right way. I just got back from a couple of bids that literally would have taken much more time in the 4 banger. Keep in mind I rarely saw 70mph in the 4 cyl. Now I'm at 80 and don't even remember getting there. I found myself behind some slower cars this morning and my heart went out to them.....( for about 3 seconds) then I merged with the flow ( which is generally 75 to 85 mph when everyone is bahaving, without any effort at all. anyone want to buy a Ranger with relatively low miles?
