  1. annual or quarterly?

I am sole, and have never written myself a paycheck. Although that statement may negate itself I just use what I need for basic needs and sock the rest.
  2. Home Depot Business ToolBox

This is very helpful. thx celeste

Hey Paul, I have to take this week off per the Dr.'s orders. (kidney issues). But I still want to do a ride out with you one day and check out your deck equipment. Maybe in two weeks we can plan that as I will be scampering to get all my resi's caught up. I want to still get better deck sealing equipment than what I have. The resi's are picking up quit a bit, but I need to get that wand back in my hands. I am going stir crazy this week being the domestic bum. Serious want to do the ride out though. You really helped me get things going in the deck dept. last year with all the info., but I still want PW as main income. But I have been declineing on some staining. I just prefer cleaning decks and sealing and getting it all done in one day. in and out, collect and move on to the next. I have your # and will get in touch real soon after I get caught up.
  4. Need Help Asap

If you use a hydrant , you will need a meter from your county or you could face some serious fines from them if you are caught w/o one. If you are going to risk it ( not suggesting) then you will definately need the right equipment to tap and also filter the h20 or it could damage alot of supply hoses and your PW unit. Just a ball park guess ( not gospel ) on the bid. 8 ft high on a linear ft bid. around 050-.70 per ft. and cover the cost of chems as well. Are you filling your tank or just running 1/2 mile of supply hose. Not trying to sound silly but that's alot of supply hose, plus the pressure from hydrant will mangle a garden hose and you will have to have plenty of back up. I really hope you have a tank on trailer or you will lose $$ in supply hose. The cost of the bid could cost you just as much in supply hose.

Both sides = 1 mile or Both sides = 1/2 mile.... when you say," you will be doing".... does that mean PWing? If so , how high is it? You already have the length. You can bid by sq. ft. ( length x height) or linear ft.( a price that covers 12 " length and the height as well) My guess would be to bid by linear ft. for a project that long. As for the cost per L. Ft..... give this thread a few hours to boil and let Mr. Williams or James chime in they know their business really good and I believe are down in your neck of the woods. BUT you need to get some exact #'s on square or linear footage to come up with an accurate bid. Plus possibly be prepared to shave a few cents off of rate if you are competing with others for the job.
  6. Referrals

Hey Paul, It's been a while. I sent a few referrals your way last year. I'll be in your neck of the woods next week. I managed to get into a HOA newspaper for resi cleaning. Helps to know the Pres. of HOA and be in a band with him. I still keep your # for that very reason. Although we never had the coffee stop yet, the offer still stands. Adrian
  7. Your biggest job

makes my back sore just reading your post Mr. Stone! I used to run a route for Coca-Cola when I was alot younger so I know it can be tough running a route. Just an example compared to how poorly equipped I was when I first started. At least we have learned the right choice by working for ourselves.
  8. Your biggest job

35000 sf of a strip mall. It was luckily my very first commercial job. I didn't know of the Grime Scene at that point or surface cleaners and I used the chem injector that came with my pw out of a 2 gal. bucket and 6% shelf bleach. 15k of job was sidewalk and I cleaned with a turbo nozzle. I actually creeped down the sides of the bldg. with a ladder to reach 15 ft heights of store front with a 3 ft wand. It took me 3, 12 hr days. My bid was pretty close to standard, but still a little low in terms of what I charge now. I seriously considered becoming a milkman instead. My bones ached and I was sleepwalking by the time it was over. I know better now and am better equipped for large commercial jobs. I have also done some pretty large resi's. The largest being a 15k sf mansion that Mr. Crossley farmed out to me. It was a great job. But getting paid was alot harder than the job itself. Those bigger resi's , I swear would be laughing at me as I pulled onsite. But like I said I am better equipped since I found out about TGS and my beloved X-Jet and chem two wheeler. Now I am laughing at those larger resi's.
  9. Smoke, What do I use??

I cleaned a crematory where I live and just used 12% mixed with dish soap. I was going to just see if that worked in a swatch area and it did fine. So That's what I used for the rest. I did let it dwell for about 25 min. or so but it came right off of the bldg. and smoke stack.
  10. ebbs 3500

is it hot or cold h2o unit? If it is hot then I would guess that it is a good price used. Ifit is cold I would guess that you could get a new one under warranty for around the same price.
  11. Floyd fans

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/events/davidgilmour/index.shtml go to "see concert now", it won't be up forever. There are some very special guest' in the show as well. Rick Wright ( keyboardist for Floyd) and Guy Pratt ( he replaced Waters as bass player for Floyd). Turn your cookies on your pc on so you can view it and possibly record to dvd if you have the software. BBC rules!! Hope everyone has a great week ahead.
  12. Big Guy skirt

Hey Jeff, Georgia Chemical sold me mine for 60.00 bucks with hardware. You will have shipping cost' added I'm sure, but it might be worth investigating . 770-921-0397. They wanted another 60.00 bucks to install but I declined and did it myself. It was not as hard as I thought it would be. I have a Simpson surface cleaner so there may be some variances in price, but like I said it may be worth investigating. Not trying to shoot anyone's advice or prices on this thread, I just had the same situation as you are having. It was not hard at all to install it myself.
  13. Floyd fans

Thx Neil, cool info, I do not have serius setup and have not researched the station. I have heard about it, just never listened. I did however find out that I am not the only Gilmour fan through this thread and I think that is so cool. I was the first in line to get the cd on this past Tues. Met a few other fans as well from the city I live in. Cool to know that I am not the only one. I really hate to sound so fanatical about this guy, but he is just a genious. #1 on the UK charts for new releases in the first week and I'm sure he will be up high when the US charts are compiled. It has been an extremely rough week for me and I am very glad to have purchased the cd as I am so very tight with my $$$$. I had a 15mm kidney stone removed from my body on Fri and it was no cakewalk and am still in alot of pain aside from the vicodin and other meds the Dr. put me on. But I truely am glad I got the cd before hand as that's all I have been listening to up to the surgery. Yes 15mm is very large. I still cringe at all the blood and after effects. As crazy as this sounds, that 61 year old musician has made the recoup alot easier for me. Music and PW is my life. What a combo huh? But I will be jamming to it until the laser burns through the cd. 12.00 dollars was well worth the price as tight as I am and along with the cd packaging is another single cd of the radio single "on an island". But that is only distributed in a limited #. Get a copy if you guys are interested in that sort of music. It is very mature and not spacey like floyd music is and it is well worth the purchase. The stones are not what they used to be, Robert Plant is not what he used to be, Springstein and Daltry are not what they used to be but Gilmour is still shining like he never took any time off. If I am dating myself, that's cool, I don't mind. But like I said, this cd is a work of art. I will go to my grave being a rocker. Maybe I will sell my kidney stone on Ebay like Captain Kirk did. Then I can use the $$$ to learn how to become a real PWer. Thanks for the babble time, it's probably the vicodin just kickin in.
  14. I have had various results with cleaning windows and the different products out there as well. I have learned that when using a squeegee one would think that more pressure is the way to go. That is not true in all cases. I know that less pressure on the squeegee and a steady hand brings better results than a heavy hand. I try to keep the glass as wet as possible before using squeegee. But I truely belive that a light and steady hand brings best results. Rain x makes a pretty good glass cleaner for auto accts. But again I do not believe in any one product as being the best. Alot of them have the same ingredients but are just a different name brand. A light hand and wipe the squeege blade after each pass. This is not gospel but it works for me on auto's and resi's and helicopters ( which generally have plexiglass).
  15. Storing chemicals

Tie downs and tight lids. Maybe even build a cabinet for them to travel inside of and just lift the lid when you need access. I have seen rectangular tool boxes that mount on the tongue of the trailer so no space is lost on the inside of the trailer.
  16. Sex Offender Map System

This is the first time I have ever seen this. I have heard about this, but never seen it. I have never really put any interest in this (not that I'm not concerned) but mine is in college and knows Kung fu pretty good. But the fact that there are so many in my area actually bothers me. I always thought my neighbors might fall into that category as they are very twisted and I am on gaurd everytime I see them outside. They think jesus is coming to some secret location in North carolina. Star mountain if that means anything to you in those parts. They shaft the gov't for disability checks each week and I really thought that they may be the type that would be involved in that sort of thing. It's good to know that they are not on the list, but I am always on gaurd when they are outside. What a way to live. I feel so much better now knowning that the closest *** offender is only 0.89 miles from my home. Whew. Am I wrong in saying that I think that there is just as much bad as there is good? I hope this service is helping alot of children not become victims. Thanks for the info.
  17. Nothing against painter's, but PWing is not their forte' and they do not bid properly. The mindset is to PW what they can and not do a thorough job as it is just getting covered with paint anyway. Nonetheless, I still hope you close on the bid regardless of the education the painters have given the customer.
  18. Floyd fans

Well today is the day I have been waiting for , for a long, long time. It's the release day of David Gilmour's new solo albumn. I doubt that there will be a line or anything like that to get into the record store ( considering ATL is the dirty south..... land of hip hop ughhh!) but I am sure I will be one of only a few who actually know who this icon of a guitarist is, in this town. I have seen the daily vid's that have been posted on his site and the daily sound bites of the releases & it amazes me the zeal & flare this gentleman still posesses at age 61. It sounds as if there is a bit of floyd feel and signature to the recordings but it is all Gilmour without question. All of his concerts in North America, Canada, and the U.K. are sold out, with no expected added shows at this point. I can't say that I blame him for not performing in ATL, because there is just no demand for his stylings in these parts. What a shame, as I would be there like a teenage girl fainting at an Elvis concert. I have seen him performseveral times and he is truely one of a kind. On another note..... Joe Satriani has a release coming out today as well called "Super Collosal" another brilliant guitarist (instrumentalist). If you have not heard of this gentleman, then do yourself a favor and pick up anything he has ever recorded. You won't be disappointed. Openeing up the "Joe" shows is my hometown hero ( Austin, Tx) Eric Johnson (5 Grammy's). What a priveledge it has been to see these greats as many times as I have. As a guitarists myself I have been humbled and even considered using all of my seventeen guitars for firewood after seeing these guys. They truely have been an inspiration to my playing over the past 2 decades. What would our lives be without music. Some don't even realize that music sells movies. commercials and just simply helps us ( me esp.) get through the day. And yes...... all my amplifiers go to 11. I hope everyone has a great week ahead and thanks for letting me use this space for my fanatical whims.
  19. Power Wash Management Guidelines

I am interested as well Carlos. If you are able to post it on this site to download, tha's great. If not please make mention of it and I will send you $$ and address for the cd or manual. Whatever. It sounds great.
  20. my computer

Penguin bounce should work pretty good on your pc.
  21. Drought conditions

If it is a civil rationing then yes. If the rationing is for residence only then you can use their water to perform a service. That's the way it is here.
  22. Flyers

vistaprint.com has some pretty good do it yourself deals.
  23. You will probably have to take the whole thing off and replace with the 3/8 q.c.. I have one of their twin turbo wands and it has the large round screw on sleeve that attaches to the wand. Don't really like those kind of connectors but the wand works great. Hope that helps...... and how ya been. It's been a while.
  24. Most DISGUSTING housewash to date

That's one you can puff your feathers up about. Nice work. Good advice about the pics as well . they are a good selling tool. Esp. if you show the pics you have shown us. From "yuk" to WOW! again.... great work.
  25. CAT X-Jet?

I have only been PW in ATL, but never in Texas (YET) but you live in a virtual goldmine area. With the airport right up the road as well and all those freight companies you can clean up in the Truck washing biz. If you ever need any contacts in the port america areas let me know. I used to run freight company in Grapevine and still have alot of friends who have trucking companies. I don't know if you offer that service or not. Not much of an investment for the turnover that you can get.Not to mention all the companies that have sprung up along 26. My wifes mom is the #1 to the Denton county commissioner and is running for Denton county J.P. in march. I know that you are not in Denton county but I am always happy to do some name dropping for you if it helps. Austin native myself and am looking to start another branch when I get back home ( big echoe after home) some day. Best of luck, if you ever need anything, you know where to find me. PEACE THROUGH SONIC DISTORTION
