  1. Rust on concrete

Did you clean it with a mix of some kind then use the Ox acid as a post spray and let it sit?
  2. I am tring to edit my signature to include hyper links to my website. I have tried all three editor options in the General settings and all I get is a basic editor and not a editor that allows me to highlight a phrase then link it to my website. I tried to write the code as I saw it on youtube with no luck. I left it up so someone might tell me where I went wrong. And my signature preferences say HTML=no. Could this be the problem and how do I change these settings? Thanks in advance.
  3. Need advice on customer scheudling and communication

Did you give the customer a courtesy call to let them know that something came up and you would have to be there later than expected?
  4. Need advice on customer scheudling and communication

Well in my opinion a few things are happening. You are getting to a crossroads where things are getting to big to handle alone, but you may not be big enough that you FEEL you should bring in a full time person to field calls and give homeowners the warm fuzzies. And also in my opinion the customer shouldn't run you over but they do have the right to know when you will be coming onto their property. Give a time frame of two hours like the cable company. Some ladies don't feel safe alone with a man or group of men. And your clients are everything without them you have nothing to do. You could also decide not to take smaller ($500 or less) or sub the job out to a smaller company just starting out for a percent and make money off of their effort. Have them look at the job, give you a number, add something to it. As for the policy changes I think make sure it is on your next bid sheet you hand out and highlighted. I have taken payment from under the front door mat. If a homeowner wants to inspect the work they can be there at our agreed upon time.
  5. Where to get accessories?

Russ is a stand up guy. You can trust him to come through for you.
  6. I'll try that. Thanks Roger or Celeste.
  7. 26 views and not one persons has any ideas on what to use.
  8. I am bidding a decent size job that has a lot of natural stone with some large heavy rust spots, and the rest is covered in mold and algae. And ideas on a effective product or products? I'm considering OX acid on the rust. But I worry about SH breaking down the stone.
  9. Concrete stain removal?

I have a customer that wants to remove an old stain that they rolled on three years after the slab was poured. They are going to restain it with a similar stain so I don't have to worry about shadowing. I hit it with my pressure washer to test and it comes up but takes some time to do even a small area. Anyone know of a chemical I can use to speed up this process?
  10. Should pressure washing companies be licensed???

I think there there should be a license required and a test.
  11. As contractors I would like your opinions on any changes I should make or a better way to blog something. Two pairs of eyes are better than one...and a whole forum of professionals is awesome www.texaspressureclean.com
  12. Oxalic Acid to water mix?

Well the label on the bucket of oxalic acid doesn't say anything but oxalic acid. I bought it from a soap company that uses it in other chemicals cleaners they make. I took on this friends fence with the understanding that it was my first attempt at a fence project and was told to charge between 5 and 7 dollars a panel to clean the fence. I didn't consider that I would have to fight the sealer from a year ago. I know now know this isn't the best way or even the correct way, but due to time and money I wanted to use sodium hypochlorite to clean the fence then the oxalic acid to neutralize it. But in studying some more I find that the combination of these two chemicals does some pretty nasty stuff. In the future I will have pre-ordered wood stripper and wood brightener and will hopefully learned to better estimate and price the project. 220 dollars for 1600 square feet is not enough.
  13. Does any one know the ratio of water to oxalic acid mix that I can use to neutralize wood?
  14. I have tried to find a good wood stripper for a fence job I'm doing. The fence was sealed about a year ago with either Thompson's or Berh. I've tried to order Rip it but I don't think it will be here in time for next Sunday if the order is placed tomorrow. Does anyone know of a mix that I can create to lift the sealant? Or anything good that can be found in San Antonio Texas? Speaking of which what type of store do fence and deck restoration professionals use to get their chemicals? Paints stores like Sherwin Williams had no clue. Thanks in advance, Jason Yahner Texas Pressure Clean 210-374-0093
