  1. Thanks man, I appreciate the positive response! I wasn't sure what kind of reaction I might get.
  2. Building your own price

In the 3 self employed industries I have been involved in I have seen more people screw this up than you could believe. They ALWAYS want to know what others are charging. You pretty much nailed it when you said "figure out what you need to make." There are so many variables involved here its unreal. Are you gonna price yourself the same as some guy who does low end work and tons of volume? Same goes for some guy who is a total craftsman and just lives it one day at a time. My advice is figure out your expenses, and figure out what you need to make an hour.
  3. I agree completely by the time you strip everything and try a new stain you are just asking for trouble. If you are happy with what you have and just want to refresh it, go for it.
  4. I was hoping I could get some input on an idea I have been kicking around for awhile. I am considering adding pressure washing to my services. I have a carpet cleaning company in the SLO area of California. I have done quite a bit of pressure washing in the past both as a contractor and for property management and always really enjoyed it. I would like to get a trailerable heated pressure washer (which would actually help me on some of my natural stone and tile cleanings). I feel like this could be a service that would be a good addition. Have you guys seen this work out before, or does pressure washing need to be a full time gig?
  5. Job looked fantastic! I am curious what is causing the SNL to fail too?
  6. I like the facebook! Social media is huge when it is utilized correctly. Have you seen much of a jump in the rankings of your website since you have had the page up?
  7. ipad2

I use my iPad daily for my business. I have an owner operated carpet cleaning company and it proves to be priceless to me. I also used it when I was doing more pressure washing and PM work. I find it to be fantastic for scheduling, taking credit card payments, locating houses, emailing invoices. I honestly love it. I suppose it is someone dependent on how much you like tech. If it frustrates you, then probably not a great addition to your day, but if it utilized properly it is priceless.
