black streaks on gutters! what do you use to clean them with?
all star pressure washing posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
I wonder what everyone has been using to clean there gutters, just the black streaks on them not the insides. Ive been using la awesome for years and it works great on a car wash brush and a little scrub its gone. only bad thing about it is when its colder than 60 it wont work unless the gutter or the brush has hot water on it. If you dont know what la awesome is they sell it at most 1.00 stores and dollargeneral, family dollar and i think walmart sells it to, its 1.00 for spray bottle or 3.00 for half gallon! works wonders with carpet cleaners and just as a general cleaner, been adding it to all my house washes for years. back to the question what is everyone using for cleaning those streaks on gutters? -
xjet makes my chemical injector spray water!?? other tips/attachments dont, HELP
all star pressure washing posted a topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Well got a new m5 xjet in the mail today and went to try it out to make sure it worked and I have a wierd problem. when I put the xjet ( 13 orifice for 3-4000psi) on the dual wand it causes the chemical injector port on the pump itself to spray up alittle water! not gallons but little spritzes!!! If I decrease the pressure with wand it stops shooting water from chem injector port!??? So I instantly turn the pressure nozzle on pump and no differnce! I have been using an envirospec thruster nozzle ( rated for 3000psi, 3.5gpm) with no issues, and all other tips and nozzles work fine, with no injector water shooting up ever. pressure washer is a 4000psi 3.5gpm with comet 4040 pump, around 10hrs on the unit so its pretty new IM baffled other than the spring or ball is getting stuck? why would ONLY the xjet cause this to happen? I called xterior they are baffled as well and we thought to call comet and ask if this is a pump issue, seeing as the pump has around 8-10 hours at the most on it its def still new and under warranty. anyone have a tought on wnhy this would happen? I would think it would do this with any other tip or attachement but it doesnt. -

when i use the xjet the engine runs alittle bit quiter than with the other tips or nozzle, its like its not using as much pressure/power to run the xjet. Im baffled but hoping to find an answer and I finally figured out that i didnt have anough water in the tote to give the pump enough water, Now i know i was starving the pump and thats why it wasnet working right, lol hate how simplicity is always the best answer, pump doesnt blow back from injector so atleast i have that figured out so far. Now have to get my tank higher up above the pump or just use garden hose for washing from now on and since its only 3.5gpm it should be fine and ill use the tank for wells or wheres theres no water. guess i need to know how much higher the tank needs to be than the water outlet, this is why i knew i should have bought a belt drive like my old unit :( -

I removed the injector and inspected the ball and seal and spring, they seem to be good to go and clean, no rust etc. put it back together and still does the same thing xjet leaks everything else good. the ball has to be dropping in order for it to be blowing out water correct? Im convinced the xjet is the problem since other tips work and no problems on full pressure blast. Is this gods way of telling me to go buy a allison suds sucker nad already selling the xjet lol i have used an xjet before on a 5.5gpm 4200psi machine and it didnt do this. and i even hooked up the injector to see if it worked and it did without issue, never used it before until now so im really bafled lol -

Painting a ibc tote frame and plastic tote, anyone ever painted theres?
all star pressure washing posted a topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Anyone ever paint there tote and shark cage before ? Im putting together a new trailer unit and Im wondering if anyone has painted the ibc tote and galvanized frame. I figure a coat of metal etch primer should stick to the galvanized surface!? Cant remember ever painting galvanized anything ever and have been painting for awhile lol. and for the plastic tote itself what to use? I have painted plastic plumbing pipe and other plastics with the krylon fusion but it not sure about the tote, maybe a quick deglosser or scotchbright pad to dull it up some and paint away? any help is great, thanks! -

since i havent been able to find a smaller tote i cut down the 265 ibc to a 165g tote, installed my hudson float valve so it will only hold around 150g. since cutting its a hell of alot shorter and much better for view out the rear of the truck lol. I have never seen anyone cut down a tote but after i looked at it i figured got to learn sometime! Heres a few pics of the tote and frame and painted frame to, looks alot better than old galvanized cage lol yes thats a quick connect on my tote filter so i can connect directly to machine so i dont have to wait for water to fill for a quick clean. Yes this a very small, very simple or as Im sure I will hear cheap 4x8 trailer setup! Since I have hauled around a 10x16 trailer for years until it was all stolen,it was time to downgrade some weight and make it easy on me and the truck! Havent painted the tote yet but for now it works great and thats all I need! whole setup has already paid off itself in 2 weeks so im pleased with the results! put right at 2750.00 in the whole all new setup, trailer,pw,tank, plumbing, hose, wands, everything and has came put pretty good for the money and its all brand new. still have to mount the water hose reel, chemical pump and wand holders but im almost done! still waiting for the rain to stop so I can paint the top of the tote and not the sides just to cover up the ugly brown stain at the top. I'll post pics of the tote after i get the pattern ready and its painted and done -

all star pressure washing replied to all star pressure washing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
the awsome will take the black streaks off 100% usually but sometimes theres oxadation and its comes off about 90%, in sure the f13 will take it all off or everyone wouldnt brag about it so much lol -

ill def. give the f-13 a try since ive been wanting to try the simple cherry from PT anyway! I dont charge to clean the face of the gutter with an average size house clean unless its 2nd story or a ton of gutters. Its my added freeby to sell the job usually and people like to hear the word free. -

lol sorry jason we were posting at the same time. 20-1 wouldnt be to bad for cost. i see f-13 20.00 a gallon plus the 10+ shipping and think 30.00 a gallon is not cheap compared to 6.00 for the awsome lol. but at 20-1 its resonably cheap So used to using what i can get locally instead of ordering cleaners! -

all star pressure washing replied to all star pressure washing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
i read up on the f-13 what is the normal mix for it 20-1 or 50-1 for cleaning gutters. if you cut it as much as 50-1 i see wheres it not expensive for gutters. My cheap self has been using a 1.00 bottle of awsome for 4-5 houses but if the f-13 is about the same 1-2.00 its worth a try. -

I know not to paint the corners so i can still see the water level still lol. Im looking for a 100g tank now so maybe i can find one and turn this ibc into a fish pond -
Generating Business
all star pressure washing replied to ShowMeShine's question in Residential Pressure Washing
signs and business cards sell alot for us! every time you do a job ask the home owners if you can leave a sign in the yard for 2 weeks or so , i almost always get business from signs in neghborhoods. neighbors get jelous and clean there house to lol. signs- if you need some cheap signs go on ebay and buy them for much cheaper than everyone else locally usually! I just got 50 signs 2 sided 1 color 18x24 for 140.00 without stakes, i have stakes, but you can get 100 signs with stakes for 282.00 or 50 signs with stakes for 174.00 shipped locally there around 5-9.00 each for 50or100, so save some money on ebay! just go red graphics on the white board! simple and sticks out great! call around for business cards locally, they will go from 100.00 for 1000 to 40.00 for 1000 from the right guy i always put some cards at my church, gas stations i go to often and bulletion boards i see around town, when you get 1000 cards you have a few to throw around lol And then theres the phone book, expensive to get a nice business card size ad in but its worth it in the long run! cost around 2000.00 here for a card size ad but you can make payments and it will make you money in the end! Dont give up on the work it will come when you get your name out there the calls will come! -
