  1. Rick the mahogany deck looks great. Is that RS Medium Red or do you make a blend? I love variation of the wood tones in mahogany and my customer's eventually do also. When you do a deck that looks like the one you did, you can say to the customer while smiling Kinda looks like mahogany, doesn't it?
  2. Restora

Do you have to remove the shutters from the house to restore them?
  3. Has anyone ever had to deal with mold in there homes? I have a small problem in a damp basement and I have been trying to find a product I can use myself to clean and kill the mold so I do not have to hire someone and pay the big bucks. Any suggestions or Info would be greatly appreiciated.
  4. thanks Jarrod. Could someone that works with TWP give me some insight on the maintenance of a TWP finished deck. I have never worked with it and I have a new customer that is looking for maint. Can you just wash and recoat or does it have to be stripped everytime you do maintenance??? And what would you wash it with?? This just for the flats
  5. Jarrod, How easy is the TWP to maintain? Can it just be washed lightly and recoated? I just looked at a deck that has TWP gold on it and the customer wants the flats recoated. She said it's been 2yrs, the deck still looks great.
  6. Fuzzies on Cedar Poll

Jim what brand of floor buffer is the "Defurno " that you use?
  7. I'm with Rick, Phillip & Scott. It's not always about the money! Good going guys!
  8. Jim, woodcare is great but the rain does suck! I was praying for a drought this year, started right in April now this the long range forecast (10 day) up here in NE does not bode well for woodies, I don't think we are going to dry out for a while. Time to get serious with playing the lottery or move to Texas, I just read that Shane can't handle all the decks there by himself! Go figure.
  9. I agree with what every one has already said but I would like to add a comment. When my customers ask me how long the stain will last I mention all of the above comments made by you, I also tell them that the deck is not going to look this good next year and use an Example like if you park a new car in your driveway and don't even use it what will it look like in a year, not like it did new. I also ask them what is most important to them having the wood protected or aesthetics (the look) after staining their wood will be protected for 2 years but it will not look as good as it does now and they will determine their own maintenance schedule based on their answer. However I also will go an do a free wash & stain to a good customer if there is a problem I determine is not natures or my customers fault. Gotta keep some of em happy"
