  3. Is there going to be any round tables in New Jersey this year. I enjoyed the one last year which was my very first one. Can you please let me know if there is going to be one. My email address is spiker2005@verizon.net Thanks Ken Spicer K& R Seal Coating and Pressure Washing page1
  4. I recently got into roof cleaning. Personally after I apply the applesause to the roof and let it sit for a couple of minutes I start to rinse the roof off. I have had great success because of everyone's support and help on this forum. But the question is what do you do with the product after you rinse the roof with water. I have seen on this forum that others rinse off the roof and also rinse the surrounding areas before, during and after the solution is on the roof. What I do personally is I have 2-100 for hoses hooked up to the downspots so when the solution is getting rinsed off it is going to the street where it can't hurt the customers grass or shrubs etc. Then I started thinking the other day while I was doing this job, (What if DNReck sees this solution going into the street and then down into the rainy water sewer? What then a big fine. So I was thinking of recovery the rinse off solution or catching the rinse off solution so there would not be an issue. Can someone give me some feed back on this protential problem. Thanks
  5. Here is the first house that I roof cleaned. Then 3 houses later my pump crapped out on me.
  6. Since my last post I have figured out the problem with the pump situation. I now have a rig all set up for roof cleaning. I did my first roof the other day on a brown roof applesauce cleaned it right off. I used the same mixture on a light grey roof the black stain came off but left a yellow stain in place. I put the application back on once more but the yellow stain came back lighter but still there. I have a 65 Gallon tank my mixture is : 35 gallon of water 20 gallon of 12% 10 pounds of borax 10 pounds of tsp Does anyone know if this is close to the mixture. I thought I read in past post that the applesauce is really suppose to work in like 5 minutes. I usually wait like 10 minutes before rinsing off. If anyone has some advice I would really appreciate it.
  7. Dont know who to believe

Iam going to change the hose from the tank to the pump to 1" for more flow. Iam going to still run 1/2" from pump to the wand. Also Iam going to use 100' of hose instead of 200' I can just move the trailer where I want it, because it is so light.
  8. Dont know who to believe

when I hooked the rig up first for the hose reel I used a garden hose reel ( dont know if that matters or what). When I sprayed the wand the chemical shot about 15feet from the gutter out of the wand than slowly sprayed down to 6 foot. No pressure and seem like it was spitting and sputtering, then decided to hook up 2 pumps same result.
  9. I invested about $600-$700 dollars into a tank which is 65 gallons, and 2 surflow pumps. I read the boards ask questions and even talked to people on the phone about roof cleaning. I had hooked up the pumps which are surflow that had 60 psi of pressure and was rated at 5.7 gpm, made the applesause mixture and flopped. I bought most of the fittings and wand from pressuretek. I dont know what went wrong. These boards haved help me out alot through this past years with ideas and advice. This time I just dont know. I feel I have to get this right know matter what it cost because what I have spent all ready. So I bought a 4' X 6' trailer with 200' of 1/2 " poly tubing on a 65 gallon tank with a transfer pump rated for caustic material. I am getting ready to hook everything up. I tested this pump before I bought this one, it shot the chemical about 28' on the ground. All I really need is 20' from the gutters. I am going to change the hose going from the tank to the pump from 1/2 " to 1" for more flow. It gets me so mad that I had everything others use to clean roofs on this forum and it didnt work. I used one pump at first seem like it always had air in the line and it never seem to clear. Than I put 2 pumps together same results. I guess I am asking for help but also blowing off steam at the same time. Thanks
  10. Sunoco gas stations NY,NJ,PA

Tom can you send me the information, or email me at spiker2005@verizon.net
  11. In my area in Delaware, Ihave seen thousand of roof that are dirty bad. I looked up the pitch witch but seems to me that my pressure washing rig has to much pressure 4000psi to put on an asphalt roof. ( unless there is someway to ajust the pitch witch with tips. Or should I go with the Devanle pump ( this is not spelled right sorry) Also I saw the Bleach bandit but the rig is like $1500.00 I really dont want to spend that much. I have an x jet can I buy the right chemicals and use that to shoot the roofs, and have the same effect. I dont want to buy a short cut way of cleaning roofs were the rest of my equipment is actually what I need. What do the rest of the grime scene think. I know when I start doing roofs there is going to be a market for it. Also just wanted to know of any safety equipment out there for roofs. I can get on roofs alot but I want to know if the rest of you get on the real steep pitch roofs or work off a ladder or stay on the ground Thanks for your help
  12. x jet really not all that

We wash houses, wood, trucks, everything. If it is dirty we wash it.
  13. x jet really not all that

Ok I started to pick up what you were lying down. I will by some simply cherry for house washing, but what is 12 %, and can I buy it from the same place I buy the simply cherry. I will be honest with you I clean houses I use the extention rods and a rotary tip the dirt and mold comes off fast with the heat. But if I can use the simply cherry with 12% and the heat without using the extention rods, it also being faster so be it.
  14. x jet really not all that

Ok I have the wrong chemical Iam using through the x jet. As far as the x jet itself I thought they were universial ( orfice what orfice) I know this sound stupid but I know you need to match orfice with nozzles but with the x jet I didnt know that. Also I believe my gpm is 4.0 and psi supposed to be 4000 but I been looking at the gage it reads about 3600. Also where do I buy the house wax
  15. I have be using cold water pressure washer for 4 years just bought my first hot water rig from northern tool last month I love it. The hot water really made the difference, but I have talked to some power washers in the area, like in Jersey at the round table they had in March. These powerwashers do not use extention rods to get up on 2 story houses, they use chemical and the xjet to get the house clean. I have what I thought the best xjet out there but it seems not to shoot that high. Maybe I am doing something wrong, I dont know. Maybe Iam using the wrong chemical. I use pro blend envirospec said it would be good on house cleaning along with truck cleaning. The x jet will not reach at least from the ground all the way to the top on the 2 story house. I would like some feed back from the members here. Also Iam looking to find out where to buy house wax to put on houses. Those guys from Jersey say they house wax along with pressure washing. thanks Ken
