i have agreed to clean out some gutters for a client and i noticed that on one of the seams there is a leak. what do you gutter guys use to seal up the leak from the inside? thanks, rando

    thanks,

    randy

  7. hey chad,

i'm randy taylor, owner of douse a house low pressure exterior cleaning in fayetteville. i am assuming you are a "hoodie" since you are on this thread. i am really wanting to expand in the kec part of the business but naturally i'm green as can be. do you clean any hoods in fayetteville? i really assume that you don't so i am going to ask you if i could spend a day with you on the labor for learning plan. this may not be something that i want to get into but i wanted to see what it was all about first before i started investing money into it. let me know what you think.

    thanks,

    randy

  9. stain on vinyl siding

you're probably not going to get a good answer without pictures. can you post some please? are you talking about stain from a fence or deck? krud kutter and elbow grease have worked well for me in the past if that is your stain. rando
  10. Intro, The best rookie you ever saw!!

good info little buddy but i would not say that getting into roof cleaning is a "massive investment". go to pressuretek.com and bob has roof cleaning packages that are very affordable and efficient. you can get your money back on the smaller package with very little effort. if you buy a diaphragm then my choice is the fatboy. it has served my needs very well. good luck, rando
  11. i watched a video that you posted on youtube and was impressed with the foamer you were using. i was also impressed on the job you did. i am looking to expand my business to inclulde hood cleaning and it appears to me that you may be one of the leaders in that field. do you mind if i call you sometime and get a little info? thanks in advance.

  12. new idea! bout gutters.

me too william. i especially love the way the water beads up on the grey wood 3 months after cleaning. the homeowner then knows he spent his money wisely and will recommend you to all his friends. rando
  13. new idea! bout gutters.

hey will, where are you getting the barlox and what is the equivalent you are talking about? it's good stuff but expensive unless i am buying it from the wrong place. are you getting local? i i know x-terior does sell it. thanks, rando
  14. new idea! bout gutters.

okay, i don't know who you are but i want the real william back. rando
  15. new idea! bout gutters.

william, remember that movie starring jodie foster about the girl named nell who was found in the north carolina mountains? didn't gutterdog say he lived in north carolina for a while? i think we found her brother. rando
  16. new idea! bout gutters.

the reason i include gutter cleaning with my house wash is because dirty gutters can and will take away from the beauty of a freshly washed house. i do not like giving the customer the opportunity to take away from my work because he wants to save a little money. i get a lot of calls from people who say that they saw my work at mr. homeowener's house and liked what they saw. what if they saw dirty gutters? how do they know that were not included in the service agreement? as far as the roof cleaning is concerned i advertise them separate but do offer the customer a discounted price if the two are combined. how ya been ken? rando
  17. new idea! bout gutters.

works well for me too william. i sell the whole package up front so the customer knows what they are getting. rando
  18. house wax

watch your step gutter mouth, you may be on somebody's toes. this is the second post that i have read from you that calls us "bunch of liars". if you want positive feedback then i suggest you show a little more respect on this forum. rando
  19. Who uses the "Ladder Saver"

sodium hydroxide can remove paint off metal surfaces so if you have not already done it then don't do it. i used a sodium hydroxide roof cleaner once and got it on the metal gutter covers. it took the paint off and i ended up sanding down the covers and repainting. don't use your customers as guinea pigs. try stuff like that on your mobile home first. good luck, rando
  20. house wax

you may want to start smaller with maybe something line a hamster or gerbal. let us know the end results. rando ...me to adrian...
  21. Help with pricing

guttermouth, you talk a lot about people not wanting to pay what you ask. my question to you is do you present yourself as a professional to your customers? i am thinking that maybe your customers do not see you as a professional and therefore expect to pay the hack price. why do i think that? looking at your pics on roof cleaning your company displays a shirtless individual with bleached jeans spraying a roof with an inexpensive pump up sprayer. there are no ppe's in place, especially a respirator. i have a feeling that your work is good but if you look like a hack and act like a hack then your customers are going to think that you are a hack. and guess what? hacks do not get top dollar. this is just constructive criticism so don't take it to heart. believe it or not i am actually trying to help you solve your problem. good luck, rando
  22. Who uses the "Ladder Saver"

hey william, i had heard some of the guys talking about bob's newest injector. when you visit his store is it the adams injector that you are talking about? thanks, rando
  23. Switching From X-Jet M5 To Downstreaming

i use 12.5% but there are times when i run out and have to use household bleach. i make sure what i get is 6% and i usually buy it from big lots for 1.50 per gallon. if i have to use household bleach then i do not dilute it at all. i just add my own little goodies to it (sc, dawn, etc) and spray away. my downstreamer is basically rated at 10:1 so i am hitting the house with around .06% as far as i can estimate. this is actually a weak mix but has worked well for me when i need it. good luck, rando
  24. Help with pricing

yes i did. i left a message on his voice mail but never heard back. thanks anyway for the referral. rando
  25. Help with pricing
