US govt buying properties

Question

Since the US Gov is "bailing out" aka buying the mortgage company's bad debt properties and holding them for a year or three until market stabilizes, WILL they need maintenance? YES! We need to figure out how to get in the position to clean these properties. It should be an easy sell if you can get next to one of the management company's controlling this. Question is who are the company's? Has anyone heard anything yet? I bet it would be a good idea to figure this out and quickly! This would be VERY LUCRATIVE if you could figure this out and should be plenty of work for everyone minus the hacks without insurance. If anyone hears anything or has knowledge of "how to" please share.

Also I guarantee you that 810 BILLION dollars will be mis used and they will catch people paying people 1500.00 to mow a 50.00 single dwelling lawn every week, kind of like the 1200.00 toilet seat or 400.00 hammer from back in the day. Not that anyone here,,,,,,,would take advantage of something like that but this could be a way to keep or drive the premium up and keep us all here in buisness during the tight year or two to come. Again if anyone figures this out please get your share but share with the rest of us. Does anyone else see this idea or am I just day dreaming?

Just a food for thought in planing 2009. That is all.........

Niiiinty Niiiiiine Dollars,,,, even throw in the windows. LOL

Ron you think this is viable? I would guess they are going to hire private mngment companys to oversee these properties. Some of your regular prop companys might go exclusivly to these contracts. Others will crop up I'm sure...Good time to have a big list of prop mngmnt companys and contacts on hand.

Its sad but many of the asset companys we work for are in China.

There money is green, and they dont care about our economy. They are long term investors.

When the dollar goes back up they are out again.

Well that makes sense,,given it's American tax money I'm sure they'll (govt) make sure it goes everywhere except back to us AMERICANS. "Thank you Sir may I have another".....:lgbonk:

NWBOC - National Women Business Owners Corporation

When I was working on the bridges on I-85 in Greenville the majority of funding come from the Federal Government. In order for us (the bridge contractor) to be granted the contract we had to assure that a certain percentage of the total contract go to Disadvantaged Business Enterprise's (DBE) and to Women Business Enterprise's (WBE). It was actually a pain to meet the percentages and often the work we subbed out didn't even go to the lowest bidder so we could meet the governments goals set on us. Also, there were plenty of times when these DBE's or WBE's wouldn't show up when we needed them so we would have to do the work our selves to keep the project on schedule. Worst part of that was we still had to pay the DBE or WBE for work they didn't do or we would jeopardize our contract if the percentage (dollar wise) didn't get to those Subs.

Point is you may be onto something. If the Federal Government takes over housing and contracts out maintenance aka pressure washing I'm pretty sure they will guarantee the work goes to a DBE or WBE contractor.

Unless you have a greater proportion of minority blood in you, filing for DBE status may be out for you. What you might have to do is turn over 51% of your company over to your wife and get her certified as a WBE. The link above tells you about this. Actually, that would be a great shoe in for any city, state and federal work.

I don't think my wife would settle for a 49% cut in pay.:p

Thats funny. My wife didn't want the company in her name, but we are still talking about this topic. There are alot of potential benefits. It's not like she doesn't run things already. She takes care of all of the office stuff while I do the estimating and the jobs. We just lost a city job to a landscaper that happens to offer PW when things are slow, just because the company is owned by a woman. Hers was the only woman business to bid the job.

I spoke to our Town Manager about the maintenance of the properties the Fed buys up. He said if he hears anything, he will pass it along. So, if I hear anything, I will pass it along as well.

In Socialist countries nothing goes to average people. Everything goes to big guys.

Goverment will own private properties ... it will be like in Russia , Cuba or China ... No difference at all ;-)

But it looks like it's the only way to help little bit for our economy.

It's just beginning . It will be more requests from auto industry to bail them out .

Japan and China owns us so we have a good back up plan :)
