Rust on Vinyl

I have searched for about 2 hours and can not find a thread for removing rust from vinyl siding..... Any suggestions?????

+1 on the oxalic acid. I use Envirospec's Rust Away (which has oxalic in it).

+2 on the oxalic. I use F8 from pressure tek and on really bad rust I have used safe restore but its quite a bit more spendy.

We use citrilic acid. if you are in a pinch, go to the super market and buy clr (calcium,lime, rust remover)

Oxalic. Safe Restore works too but as mentioned above is more expensive. I have used both on vinyl.

I tried Oxalic yesterday..... Maybe I did not mix it strong enough? Thanks for the ideas I will give it a shot.

For me, about 1 cup of oxalic crystals per gallon, mixed with warm water, works best. In a pinch, HD sells Rust Aid for about $10/gal. It is oxalic.

Be sure to let it dwell. It won't come off right away. Let it sit on the stain.

I'm guessing 10 minutes of dwell should do the trick. It still may need a little pressure rinse after the dwell time, but you shuld see it lighted considerably before rinsing.

Oxalic works although just spraying it on has not always. At time we have to agitate/brush the surface areas.
