My winter project

Question

Here is a project I started thanksgiving. just finished last week.

Considering that I cant cut a board straight for the life of me, I am pretty proud of myself!

My wife wasnt real happy when she found out I couldnt stain it for 6months or longer. She wants solid balustrades.

Here is the finished project ones. I started tearing this apart with no plan whatsoever. and 3 weeks before our big Christmas party. I got the stairs and walkway done in time and just finished the balustrades this last week.

What a difference that makes, opens up the whole front of the house. In my opinion stairs are so difficult but maybe it's just me. Several years ago I redid my interior stairs with hardwood and black concrete...OMG! Fifteen years ago it took me almost 2 years to build this house. I thought is was going to take another 2 years just to make the new stairs. Nice work you did there.
