Google spam phone calls

Question

I am getting too many phone calls from Google wanting me to sign up for some program of theirs. I have asked the numerous salesagent to remove my name from the phone list. Usually they hangup at that time. How I do I get google to take me off their list? I am about to get the whistle out, that has worked with other phone spammers.

If they say, How are you''? & you know it's some tosser trying to sell you something, Just say ''Busy'' & Hang up. Or if you want say just say'' City Morgue''.

I get those google spam calls every week also.

I also don't think it is actually google, I think it is just a seo or telemarketer trying to sell some outdated seo service, just more spam but on the phone.

I tried to tell them to take my number off their spam list but they also just keep talking to try to keep you on the phone or just hang up.

It is at the point now when it is an unknown or blocked number I just don't answer, sometimes even the 800, 866 or other numbers also. If it is important they will call back or leave a message.

Yeah, it's SEO people. I don't answer out of the area calls any more unless I recognize (or think I recognize) the number. If its a customer or a contractor they either leave a message or not. When I used Service Magic I got hammered by those companies asking how SM was doing and then trying to sell SEO.

I have two responses to them now.

When they start talking about how much more business I can get I tell them that I don't want any more business.

Nope. None. Not one more call.

Don't you make more people call me!

Or, if I'm in a hurry I interrupt and ask if this is about the internet. When they say "Yes!" I tell them

"Oh, I'm saved and I don't believe in it!"

That stumps 'em.

Here's what I'd like to know. How do these IRS lawyers know you are going to get a notice weeks before you get the notice?

We have a recurring issue with one of our 09 returns. This is our fourth go round with them on it. We always know when it is about to start up again because we start getting calls from lawyers a week or two before we get the notice every time.

How is the IRS allowed to ***** out our information like that?

I try not to get too wound up over people calling trying to sell me stuff. I politely tell them the money's just not in the budget, but thanks for calling.

Heck, I'm doing the same thing every day.

A smart guy would use common rejection lines on them to see if they use any creative ways to overcome them!

My little sister worked for one of those phone outfits while going to college. The callers had to make so many calls per hour, supervisors would walk behing them to make sure they were talking to people. My sister would talk to them about anything, kids, job, weather. That way, it looked as if she was trying to sell something.

It must work on some people or they wouldn't keep doing it. But it doesn't work on me. Most of my customers have my cell number. There's nothing worse than being in some kind of precarious situation inside a unit or on a roof when you get the call that starts with "Can I speak to the owner?" or "Hello, how are you today?"

There should be a button to push during the call that instantly blocks that company from ever calling again.

You misspelt a couple of words, I fixed it for you.

Whooooops....did I just hang the phone up abruptly in your ear for wasting my time?

I had one (different spammer, but a spammer just the same) call me back three times in a row trying to argue a point and be heard. It was not good for him at the end of the third call.

Sometimes you can hear all the people in the background and know it is a telemarketer, other than that you have the asking about the owner or they say their name, what company they work for, blah blah blah. That is about the time I hang up because I don't have time to talk to them.

I use privacystar. Costs $19.95 per year. It has caller id, call block and number lookup. When I get calls that don't leave a message I look them up, and if they are not on privacystar then I go on the internet and usually they will have a complaint log somewhere if they are telemarketers.
