Best Three Guys in Wood Restoration in the Industry

Question

I'm not starting this Thread to have conflict or arguments.

I need to know who You think the best three contractor are.

Please do not include yourself, if you want to remain private PM me.

If you can't come up with three please list who ever.

Be respectful to everyones choices.

If the person is not here on this BBS thats ok, please however include a Facebook or Email if I should need to contact.

Yes it has something to do with promotion and story. If you list someone expect that you might get a call about why you selected them.

Thanks for all your help, TGS is the place for Wood restoration Specialist.

I have respect for many in this industry who have helped to further the knowledge and raise the bar for the standards of service.

This question without any parameters is completely arbitrary and only serves to invoke argumentation without any benchmark defined.

This is very serious to a lot of people to depend on the opinions of others who do not have first hand experience of anyone's work, service quality, ethics or principles of business.

There are many models for business and many are dictated by the conditions, circumstances and demographics of where they were developed.

I personally, do not have the time to look into the aspects of another contractor to base my 'opinion' so therefore I will not take part in it.

And yet, you knew straight away that it would evoke just that. Personally, I find it rather cloak and dagger to be so secretive about why you are doing this, and who it is with. So tell us Ron. Tell us what this big secretive mystery project is.

Adrian Carrier, Kingwood Texas, ABC Deck Rescue has done great work and has posted pictures of some of his jobs.

Shane from the Houston area (forgot what company he is with and he has not posted much in years) posted a lot of great pictures throughout the years and has some excellent wood restoration pictures of all kinds of projects like Arbors, decks, fences, etc...I remember he was using Baker's Gray Away and introduced it to everyone out there.

There are others out there and I will post another name later on, have to go to work but these 2 guys have always posted pictures and their work has always been great.

Beth & Rod,Jim Foley and Rich Petry are the first three who come to mind. Whenever I talk wood restoration with anyone there the first three who stand out. Out of those 3, all three are absolutely great with decks. I never seen better pictures in a continous bases with those 3 on the beautiful restoration job they do with them. They're true wood restoration "Artist"

But the two who do the full spectrum of wood restoration for a homeowner which includes the house , time and time again continuously show high quality work and they also have done volunteer work with wood restoration would be in no specific order because I consider them equals are Beth/Rod and Jim Foley. For the full package I haven't seen better.

Shane who hasn't been around in awhile and Adrian would also rank very high on my list.

I just re-read the rest of Rons post that we may be called upon as to why we picked who we did. There are some more names I can add to this list and some of these people I know well. Because of that I have to respectfully decline to be a part of this story outside the bulletin boards. -Thanks-

When you include your answer it could be with Scope. I realize that Wood professional can have Many arts, fence, decks, Logs and all other aspects. Simply just include this if you like. I'm sure there's a Few you respect enough to mention. Please Keep it private if you like, this will cause no issues.

Secrets?? I hardly think I would come onto a BBS full of my peers an ask such a question if there was any secret back door deals going on.

Beth its will serve as a Multipurpose tool, I'm the president of the United Association of Mobile Contract Cleaners , as president I want to make sure I have a bearing on who in the wood restoration business by there Peers are the top guys. Its not a Contest there are not winners or losers. I kept it to three only for the simple reason I do not just want a list of wood care people. I'm looking for the best, I figure that if 20 people include Three names I'm sure that some will be duplicated. But that no one if mentioned are going to be not mentioned in this Article. The article is just one aspect of this, we are also attending shows all throughout 2013 needing these pro's to assist in building a great programs of awareness to large groups to help Members build there business.

Of course anyone who wants to be involved can help, But I need a guideline of a place to start.

The article Tittle will be the top 50 wood care people in the USA , No one will be number one or 50. An yes there expertise will be included if they choose to provide an cooperate.

I have a other NEEDs to know that are also not top secret.

I'm finding that the United Association of Mobile Contract Cleaners has been a real Lead Generator. As the head of the association I want to find a fair system to pass these leads. If the people are members they will get the leads First of course. I do not feel that someone looking towards the association for help shouldn't be given a great referral regardless of membership.

YOu see this can work Both ways, the customer is happy an continues in the future to look to the org for needs. The contractor who is not a member might just decide they should join.

I hope that helps you!!

Most view it as just disrespect-able Behavior. Its purpose to insight exactly what your accusation above suggest.

Sorry Ron. I was just joking. I didn't even notice who had made the jab. Now I see who the source was I realize it was just another serious disrespectful jab.

John Thanks, but I only wanted three. Don't you do wood care?

Of course I would put Everett Abrams in there also. The reason why I did t mention Everett and a few other is because I'm not sure what your looking for and I'll explain. Rod and Beth lead a crew but there involved with some really cool projects that have been on the cover of mags and there also doing some of the "Artist work" as does Jim Foley etc. I can't answer for Everett but I haven't done wood in at least 5 yrs. My guys have. They do probably at least one wood project a week such as decks, fences, etc.. Maybe every other week but I don't do any of that work anymore.

So I wouldn't consider myself.. Everett may still be out there doing it some like Beth and Rod but last check he had his crews doing the wood restoration. He was a teacher and still is on wood restoration..

Myself I had a couple of projects in CT etc that showed a wood house we did.. And we do still some high end homes in the Hamptons because of the Money"" but I would never in my right mind put myself anywhere near the above mention people....cause the artist. My guys are pretty good but nothing like the above list.

Quick question are you looking for guys who actually today do the wood themselves with a crew or by themselves etc.?

Or is it there business your looking at?? Still either way I shouldn't be in there class. Beth/Rod,Everett and Jim Foley showed me how to do it..because years ago I never used any chemicals.. These masters showed me how...and there still masters-- and still are above in quality to most I know...,including myself.

Hmmm....I don't bother judging others. How good they are is determined by THE CUSTOMER, not me. Perception is everything, and if the customer perceives them as good, they're just as good as any so-called top dogs from internet forums.

All the guys here do good work from what I've seen, and I wish them the best of success. Rock on fellas, and ladies (nod to Beth, Celeste, my better half and some of the others out there).

When?

Why do you address me like I have to do this?

You need to learn to take 'No' for an answer and respect the persons reasons given.

Just because you have your panties in a wad in general about Thad, doesn't mean it wasn't funny. It was. In fact, I'm still smiling about it.
