The most influential person to you in this industry & why?

Question

The most influential person to me in this Industry Is Robert Hinderliter.

I bought his tapes around 1998 after I was 2 yrs in the Powerwashing business to see what else I could learn. Those tapes for that time were pretty good. I studied them and then sold them to another contractor. Then around 1998-2000 I use to be on Roberts Delco Bulletin board that for years was by far the most popular one on the net.

Around 1999 I called Delco to order there Big Guy Surface machine and to my surprise Robert Hinderliter answered the phone. I was shocked that a person as successful as him would actually go out of way to take a call. I was almost speechless because back then to actually talk to someone who made successful Video's was like calling Hollywood and getting a star on the phone.

I joined the organization that he founded "The PWNA" around 2000 and have been a member every year since. i also joined the other org. that he also founded "The *****" around 2007 & stayed a member there until 2011.

As yrs went by I became more and more interested to see what made Robert tick and also what made him so successful. Robert is a Genius and has been the most influential person to me in this Industry for all these years now.

How about you? What Industry type person has been the most influential to you?

Yeah, what that guy said. I bought my third PW from him in 1999. It finally failed and was replaced in Dec. That machine made me over One Million Dollars during its life. Robert was always good for advice. Once the PW was not building pressure, I called him from the job. He told me to replace the feed hose, or at the least, tighten the hose clamps. I knew, just knew, he was wrong. After an hour of ignoring what I was told, I replaced the hose. He diagnosed the problem correctly from his desk. I finally met him in person at an IKECA meeting. He is truly an amazing person, and an outstanding person.

Ron **********. I don't think there is anyone who contributes more to this industry. I have learned a ton from his vlogs and BBS posts, and he is always available to call or text if you have any questions. This guy has made millions pressure washing, and has nothing to gain by helping others succeed, but he does it anyway. Doug ********** is a close second for me too though.

Too tough to pick just one. The thing I like the most is what you pick up from guys you hardly ever see on the boards, just answering and asking questions.

The guys who always post 'look at me' stuff and feel they have to prop up the boards with inane garbage can learn a lot from those guys.

"Our Industry" has a couple of branches. The only part of this that interests me is the "Contractor Industry" and those that are advocates of it and help protect the best interests of the Contractor. There are only a few (that I know of) that do this.

What we see here on the net is not a "Majority" of the PW Industry, only a small group. Knowing the history and the "who, what & why" should be known before one labels anyone.

We talk about industry Leaders, the one man who comes to my mind the most was Dave Olson. Dave Past away dec 2011 and he is missed for sure, I select Dave because I know Dave helped people, he was also innovative in the way he invented things and then shared them.

I think without Dave Olson's in this industry we would have not had the lead on fostering this amongst one another. Dave was the leader and pioneer when it came to this way before BBS or the NET.

I think My list is has many, but Dave Olson is a stand out and if your talking with anyone he is someplace in the Top of the heap.

I Think your right, to tough to just say one certain man unless that person had a great influence on you. After Dave I see many great folks who have contributed to my outlook and success in this industry. Many to many to list, each day goes by I learn something from someone.

I can tell you its good to see new guys stepping up and doing there part to help foster a better future. I'm grateful to many of them.

Nobody has had more of an impact on the industry I can see other than Cris Tucker Apple Roof Cleaning. He created a new industry within the industry . We now have roof cleaners for every 5 houses in the US. He truly has been an influence in this area. Other people are leaders within the industry but I don't know if there are influential. Other people our specialist within the industry.

Yes David Olson was at the very top of my list as one of the most influential person in this Industry who had a tremendous positive impact on myself and many others for sure. I miss his mind.

There is the most impacting person on my life but he would not fall into this "Industry category". I'll start another thread on that one.

So who else has an industry type person that had the most positive impact on them and their business?

Who::::::I have to go waaaaay back for this one. But they both still ring true in my book with the most knowledge in their craft.

Doolittle and that cajun dude named Shane. lol.

Why:::::: because they really know their chit. They imparted their knowledge in a way that would stick with me and make me money.

Can't go wrong with that.
