Round Tables Pull Record Numbers

Recommended Posts

This years round tables far exceeded last year's events, with record numbers of attendees in most all areas, most notably, New Jersey with 40!

Many BBS's out there ran threads with information regarding attendance. Folks are planning now for the fall series.

To view information on the recent events, surf the BBS's on the Hot Links Page to find photos and information about recent local events and their sponsors.

Special thanks goes out to Everett Abrams for his hard work and dedication to making them grow, and to the PWNA for supplying kits to those holding the meetings. These weren't PWNA events and it's wonderful to see the support from our industry organization. Huge thanks go to Jack and the office staff at PWNA headquarters for their efforts.

Thanks should also go out to Ron ********** for bringing the concept of the round table meetings to the electronic communites out there. While other informal groups have met in various places, none have been promoted or publicized until Ron began to do this with the round tables online. His efforts year one, made this year, year two, possible.

Beth,

I appreciate the recognition to the Roundtables. I do believe that we have made a statement that "Roundtable Meetings have a place in our industry." These meetings should only continue to grow as they are so positive in creating community as well as support for our industry. I also believe the education factor as well as raising the bar on professionalism increases from these meetings. Further , I believe that we are at a critical point with these meetings on how organized they become and what the content should be moving forward. I think everyone should post ideas and let's see how big these become! The key is "this is our industry and to be responsible to it means to take ownership in it",we all need to put an effort out to be more recognized and professional. The Roundtables help us to do just that.

Beth,

I agree with everything you said above and I would also like to say that Everett did a great job with the NJ Roundatable.

The only thing I would like to add to what was said above is that Ron ********** should also be thanked for starting these Roundtable meetings in the first place and his time and effort in promoting the hell out of these meetings all over the net.

Looking Forward to the next fall Roundtable meeting.

John T.

YOU are the real stand up guy! Exactly right about Ron M. he is the pioneer. Thank you for bringing that point up as I should have. By the way I am still working on an excuse for you wife. I am thinking of having Ed McMahon or somebody show up at you house and tell her that you guys have won a trip to "Beautiful Las Vegas!" Let me know what you think!

You are both absolutely right! Ron is the one who breathed life into them online, and made them a reality. He continues to push for the best for the industry.

John, tell your wife it's tax deductable. It's not going to be all "boing business stuff" either... I am willing to bet there will be some fun after hours, with groups doing different things. I know some folks are going to casinos... I have heard some discussion of renting a limo to get a group around... I know Rod & I want to go dancing. There is TONS to do.

How far these roundtables have grown. Celeste had over a 100 at hers and Tom and Barbara from ACR continuously pull in around 70-80 people.

The one thing I miss....is Everett Abrams posting on the bb's but I respect his opinions and understand his reasoning behind it.

Man how these years fly. I wish I had some of my old photo's Ron From these early RT's but I've been thru a few PC's since then that crashed and burned and of course I didnt back them up. These RT's table today have grown to be events that so many enjoy. Still the smaller ones are just as important and fun to all that attend them. Can't wait to see how the future holds up with all these RT's scheduled. Its exciting times ahead.

Everett,

Thanks for the old pics. Can recognize Tom Vogel, looks like Rod Rodriguez, and John Tornabene in the 2nd picture. Was that one of the old get togethers you organized down at the Indian Chief or something restaurant? What year were they taken?
