Cleaning Tile

I have a job to clean restrooms and showers at a new YMCA. They are tile and the dirt is mostly just rugular building dust and plaster compound. There may be some grout that needs cleaned off of the floors. Can anyone tell me what to use? Is Sre Kleen safe on tile? We will be doing this job this week.

Lenny go to a board called dirtygrout.com and you can find all the anwsers to your tile cleaning there. There are mfg's links to order what you need from dealers on the east coast.

This is an easy clean, nothing out of the ordinary. I'll ask Rod to give you the scoop here. We have done quite a bit of this work. You're always welcome to call us as well.

Vacuum the majority of the debris first. Then bring in a hose and rinse them down (if there is a floor drain. S.B. because of codes). Dam the door threshold to contain the water. Once you are done, then attend to the smaller details that are left i.e. plaster mud, tile grout tags, marks etc. Use a Glass cleaner (diluted) on the wall tile to bring up a polished look. Mop with a neutral cleaner and keep people out till the floor is dry.

Thanks Beth,

There is a cleaning crew coming in after us to do the fine detail. We only need to do the pressure washing. I'll remember this advice down the road.
