  1. I am getting ready to replace my hose for the year and was wondering if anyone has seen a noticeable difference in the longevity between the 1 wire Spira Flow hose and the 2 wire standard hose? I have been doing quite a bit of concrete lately and the benefits of the SpiraFlow seems to make sense if it lasts. Thoughts?
  2. Making shutters shine

I tried the Flood Restora sample on my own vinyl shutters. Granted they weren't as oxidized as some I run across but boy did they come out looking brand new. I have mentioned it to a couple of people I am bidding with but so far no bites. If it doesn't involve too much ladder work I am including this in my Platinum service this year. Only takes a little time per shutter.
  3. removing stain off vinyl siding

Home Depot carries Krud Kutter products but I have never seen their Graffiti Remover there. Call these guys near you. They carry Krud Kutter products and if they don't have the Graffiti Remover they can probably get it for you quickly. CUMBERLAND PAINT198 FORSYTH STREETFAYETTEVILLE, NC 28303Products Carried: Gloss-Off Prepaint Surface Preparation, House Wash, Di-All Paint Mildewcide, Pressure Washer Concentrate, ">Gloss-Off Prepaint Surface Preparation, House Wash, Di-All Paint Mildewcide, Pressure Washer Concentrate,
  4. I have 2 100 foot sections of 3/8' 2 wire non marking hose. They are about to be retired to backup duty as I am getting new hose after the first of the year.
  5. Regular in everything. I read an article that basically disproves the whole Premium thing except for very high performance engines. Since I don't race Formula One I will stick with regular.
  6. red dirt on vinyl

Had a job yesterday where the owner called and said "I need some rust stains removed from a walkway" so I packed up the oxalic and the X-jet M5 and headed over. Turned out to be red dirt which is odd for this area so the fill for the foundation was brought in from inland somewhere. The oxalic didn't do much at all and I forgot my F-18. Just ordered some more and will go back to test that on it. Did pick up five hours of work cleaning the garage floor, two decks and all the walkways as well as the paved drive.
  7. leaf blowers

Great pics. I can't say I have ever seen the spanish moss growing like that here in SC but we don't have many tile roofs. It grows on the big oak in front of the house and I like it but if it started growing on my roof I might get upset.
  8. vinyl siding cleaning revisited

I don't rinse windows right away as the area under them can get diluted and weaken the chem too much IMHO. There is always a "hot" side of a house and I just work that one a little more carefully. I just stand there and make sure it all stays wet with chem for what I think is enough time, just keep misting it. Then a big rinse.
  9. I have Suttner ST-1500 on most guns but my short wand has a Suttner EZ Pull that I really like. If I replace the others I will probably get more EZ's. Both are great.
  10. I myself would rather pull a long hose than wheel around some sort of Hotsy unit with wheels. Especially when you have stairs and terraced yards.
  11. how to handle non-paying customer

The property management company hired you and it shouldn't make a difference what the HOA has in their account. Get the PM to pay you in full right now. The fact that the HOA has no money shouldn't matter to you at all as the PM hired you.
  12. 2 questions.......

I have an AR pump and like it. From what I have heard the Cat pumps are expensive and parts are too. My next pump will be a Comet, General or AR.
  13. Restora

Stephen, Thanks to you and Flood I received my semi-gloss sample today. I too am in South Carolina and as you know the sun down here can trash a vinyl shutter in just a few years. Very impressive packaging. While I have vinyl shutters on my house they are not really that faded yet but my neighbor across the street has some of the most faded green ones ever. I am hoping he will let me test it out on them. I did use the cleaner on my shutters and after rinsing they look really good. I will do mine anyway as customers will see I have nice glossy shutters and realize that I practice what I preach if I add this to my list of services. As for contractors using this product for shutters what are you charging per shutter? Just want to see a ballpark of what I should be quoting if I decide to add this to my arsenal of services.
  14. Have I Been Duped

No, I don't believe they should have.
  15. Everytime I use Sodium Hypochlorite

I just read the part where you had the same vomitiing and choking while wearing a respirator. If the respirator is new and is rated for chlorine fumes then your health issue is most likely caused by some other factor unless you are bathing in the stuff. Gonna take a good doctor to figure it out.
  16. Everytime I use Sodium Hypochlorite

That is a pretty dilute solution and if you are downstreaming with a 20% DS injector you are looking at only %0.625 SH to the wal and if using a standard injector you could half that amount. I would have a hard time killing the mildew and mold I run across down here with that. Considering this, and the fact that you don't report a allergy to household bleach perhaps it is something in the Emulsifier Plus that is causing the allergic reaction? I know lots of people with allergies to detergents and when I was a kid my dad had restaurants and there was one type of dishwasher soap that would cause me all sorts of discomfort. Haven't run across it again but now and then I will sniff some detergents and get a bit of a sneezing fit. Hope you figure out what is causing it.
  17. Why give THANKS

Jeff, Great post. We all have a lot to be thankful for and I wish you and your family the best of holidays. I have a feeling next year in SC is going to be real moldy so we are going to have a great one! :lgbounces Keth
  18. Douseahouse:What is shc?

If you want Espec products I suggest getting them from Paul Kassander. He sells their full product line, has a website with a shopping cart and provides excellent customer service. In my opinion Envirospec is a strange company. Running a business of their size using PDFs and a bizarre website that has no shopping cart just seems odd to me. Go with Paul, he will answer questions and ships promptly.
  19. Restora

Interesting, had thought about trying this stuff. Wonder how they got their mailing list. Must be doing business license searches or something.
  20. Sorry about the typo. You are correct. This is pasted direct from his site.... Downstreaming: 3.5 gallons of 12.5% chlorine, 1.5 gallons water & (2) 8oz scoops of Simple Cherry. X-Jet or M-Jet: 2 Gallons 12.5% chlorine, 3 gallons water & 10oz of Simple Cherry.
  21. I think the recipe for a 5er on Bob's site is 3.5 gallons of SH and 1.5 gallons of water with an 8 ounce scoop of Simple Cherry. Couldn't be easier! I don't care about the smell of bleach cause I love it.
  22. I had this happen recently. My belt guard doesn't give me a good view of the belts and I peeked in and the belt looked fine but after testing all the other stuff I pulled the cover off. The belt was broken but it was sitting in such a way that it looked fine through the inspection port. I felt like an idiot since I spent about an hour testing everything else. Doh!
  23. who's good at math?

If I read the math correctly you are getting a 20% draw rate which equals most hi draw downstream injectors without having tons of hose. If you are happy with the amount of chem you are putting to the wall I would save yourself the bucket carrying and just put an Adams injector on your rig and downstream. Unless of course I missed something. Need more coffee.
  24. Yes, here in the South we need SH to kill the crap that grows wild on houses. I am still trying to find the best combo of Eplus and SH but right now I am using it 50/50. Equal parts Eplus and SH downstreamed at around 17 %. I run 200 feet of hose and imagine I am not getting the full 20% that the injectors I use are rated for so I downgrade it a bit.
  25. I can't comment on Power House but so far the Emulsifier Plus is working for me better than the Sunbrite Citrus house wash which I was using. Not dissing the Citrus, which I thought was good, but the EP just seems to have more punch. Shipped I was paying close to $160 for the Citrus and the EPlus shipped is about half of that. I would consider EPlus to be equal to Simple Cherry and the only reason I went with the Eplus is price.
