Any suggestions on how to leave windows looking clean after pressure cleaning a house
POWERMEN INC posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
Does anyone have a trick, or add anything to the rinse to leave the windows without any smears or water stains? I just clean with chlorine and rinse with plain city water. -

Detergents, soaps, added to chlorine= do they weaken the chlorine's abilities?
POWERMEN INC replied to POWERMEN INC's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Is there a product name you can give me, that has synergistic sodium phosphate or metasilicate and a surfactant? I still need something I can buy and a place to buy it. :) -

I can get 55 gallons for $44.94 pluys shipping. Anyone tried this stuff? I am still looking for a simple brand of surfactant and a place to buy it. :) -
Below, I got a suggestion to use a surfactant with my chlorine- got a brand name?

what is Barlox and where do I get it or other additives that you recommend for adding to chlorine. I would only use it on heavily mildewed roofs. -

POWERMEN INC posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have read here many times, the benefits of using additive soaps and other products to chlorine, yet, my son, who has pressure washed for me now, for 14 years here in Florida, always says that, anything I add to his chlorine, just weakens it's abilities to disintigrate molds and requires more "on target" poressure. He says, that using straight chlorine, through the pressure washer's chemical injector-with no additives- kills and removes the mildews and molds we have here better all by itself? What say ye? -
Is a kohler engine as good as a Honda in 13 hp?
POWERMEN INC replied to POWERMEN INC's question in Residential Pressure Washing
You said- Believe it or not but I change spark plugs, filters and oil every 50-75hrs. I believe you, but see no benefit in such frequent changing???? I change spark plugs in my 13 hp Honda's every year or 2 at best. Oil, I change every 100 hours or so. Filters, when they begin to deteriorate. -

I have always used 13 hp Hondas for many years now. I read in the new E-Spec catalog, that his opinion, is that for 40 hours of work or more a week, a kohler engine is better than a Honda???? What say ye? -
5.6 gpm gear drive. What is your opinion of these gear drive units?

Double Gulp type chemical injectors. Anyone tried these?
POWERMEN INC replied to POWERMEN INC's question in Residential Pressure Washing
What does a post about hippocrites or cheap, have to do with a double gulp chem injector? I just ordered over $200.00 from a sponsor here and a $20.00 double gulp from E-spec. Like I said, you lost me on this one???????????? -

POWERMEN INC replied to POWERMEN INC's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have never tried gear drive and i'm interested in what pumps you suggest. I have 13 hp hondas and now use 5.6 TS2021 pumps on them. I would like to get as much gpm as possible and I know my 13 hp's are pushing it to run 5.6 pumps. I have done this for many years though, with very few breakdowns. Still, I want to hear about gear drive comparisons. :) -
5.6 gpm gear drive. What is your opinion of these gear drive units?
POWERMEN INC posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have 3 belt drive units, that put out 5.6 gpm. What are the pros and cons of a gear drive? I haven't bought gear drives, since I started this business in 1989. At that time, without much knowledge, I killed myself daily, washing big tile roofs, etc, with a 5hp 1500 psi 3gpm gear drive. Within a year, I went to a 9hp 4gpm gear drive and within the next year, I started with the 13hp 5.6 gpm 3000-3500 psi units, I use now. I really don't remember much about the gear drive units I had, but I now know I was way under powered for some jobs and more importantly, way lacking in gpm! If they make gear drives, that will work and last as long as belt drives, they would be more compact and not be breaking any belts! :) I went from working with a minivan in 1989 to a open trailer with 2 machines and chemical pumps and tank in 1991, to the same equipment in an enclosed trailer in 1992 and have since reverted to a small open, solid steel trailer, with 1 machine mounted permanantly on that and a double chemical pump arrangement [sureFlo] and a 65 gal tank and I have another pw'er mounted in my Nissan Frontier truck. If i'm not doing any chemical work that day, I just use the truck. That's my story and i'm stickin' to it! :) -
