  1. Hi Everyone! I would like to hear from anyone with personal experiance useing any of the newer types of pump systems such as PT's Zeta Bandit or even just the UDOR 40P pump with a gas engine. Interested in how it performs in daily use; cleaning roofs. How much pressure does it produce & how HIGH can it shoot "the recepie" . from ground level ? what volume of liquid can it handle ? (GPM). what is working "head" distance? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys. Jimbo

  2. Hi Guys;Need your expert advice, I want to use a clear sealer on my own deck so as to see the natural beauty of the wood. It's 12 yrs old, but wood in very good condition. Had no sealer for last 5-6 years, only pw'd. I just recently pw'd it & am thinking of useing Cabot's 3600/SPF on it. They claim very high UV resistance and that is the most important feature I'm after. As I specilise in roofs & not decks I need your input if you will. Any replys appreciated. Thanks. Jimbo

  3. That price is too low for anyplace within 150 miles of Raleigh! It happens, though. I recently quoted on an upscale home of 3300sf just outside Raleigh for a roof job & house wash. much MUCH shrubbery all around house. I quoted $700 for roof ( just front half of house) & $650 for house wash. It had HUGE amount of shrubbery & all gutters to be bagged etc. Upon scheduled call-back three days later, some local Idiot had booked the job one day behind me, for $375. for BOTH!!!!!!!!!!! The customer took it too!! Jimbo.

  4. They should be arrested on the spot because they are illegal & therefore don't have the right to assemble a public protest! Go back to mexico, then apply to come here to work leaglly. PS; when you go back to mexico, take Bush, all his cabinet, all the so called democratic leadership & 95% of congress with you & keep them!!!!!!!!!! Jimbo

  6. Kevin/Scott. Thanks for the information guys, it is much appreciated. Will try some small test-applications today & see what may work. Any/all ideas appreciated.Jimbo

Just a "follow-up".6-20. tried several types of cleaners, simple green, purple stuff,"right stuff", aluminum brightner, couple of de-greaser types, & NONE eventouched the stuff! All these were spot tried @ full strength. Tried some of Xterior's gutter-zap and where it hit the wall at full strength, it DID clean, but where any ran down the wall, Nothing happened. Added some joy soap to help cling, & did it the hard way (runing out of time to finish). We used hard plastic brushes on handles, diping in bucket filled with gutter-zap & scrubbed

like heck!!!!!!!!! NEVER again!!! Even that just cleaned acceptable, not outstanding work at all. Still not sure what we were fighting, but think units had been in a local beset by heavy industrial fallout. Never saw anything cling as tough!!! Customer was satisified with outcome, as they had someone

try high-pressure on it, & that didn't do anything either.! Hope I never run up on anything like it again, if so, someone else will clean it! Jimbo

  7. After cleaning a roof today, stopped by to look at an office trailer customer wants cleaned. It just looked like regular grime, however it isn't. The only thing I had with me was some "roof -receipe" IE; ( 12%SH) so i fired up the PW & x-jet just to hit it quickley & see how hard it might be to clean. At 2% hitting it, nothing happened, so switched to undilueted 12%/6% thru x-jet & still nothing moved it at all!! My helper tried a shot of WINDEX & rubbed it with a cleaning cloth & it lightened it up a tiny bit. It is somewhat dark narrow streaks (vertical streaks) which appear to be regular grime. Any ideas for best product to clean this? totaal 2350 SF. Thanks. Jimbo.

  8. Ant (Hotshot) gave good advice. I remember on a past post he used foam on a building exterior and asked why we didn't use foam on residential work. I had a chimney that was baked with soot at a home I washed today. The foam ate the soot away. Orange streaks slowly ran down. I didn't think it would come off but the foam did the trick & it got me a $50 tip on a $350 house wash.

What "soap" do you use? I am looking a good soap safe to use with "love". Thanks. Jimbo

  9. Need your advise ! Have a home ( 2500+ sf)to clean next week,: clean roof & wash exterior &-large drive & walkways. Calls me today & also wants me to clean a 10X12 storage bldg that had a water leak months ago & now has very heavy milldew inside a cedar-lined closet in the bldg. He thinks the cedar (its in 4x8ft sheets) is not solid, but spliced /glued together. I have not seen it yet. What process & materials would you use on such a project so as not to damage the cedar material? Thanks. Jimbo

  10. I had not done a roof at time of original posting, but have since found the answer to my question. At that time I was prepared to ( & did do so) apply

product to roof useing a 5gpm elec pump mounted in my van. It can pump

app 30 ft from outlet end of 25ft garden type 5/8 hose. I have recently switched to useing an M5-Xjet (so far I love it) useing 50ft of 3/8 hose from 5gl bucket & it does pull with no problems. I have used it cleaning one two story house (not includeing roof) & it works great. I do have one other question for anyone though. What will work best cleaning cedar shake roof and sideing? Have many many homes in one of my areas curently working & most are app 20 yrs old, & need cleaning badly. Any comments appreciated. Jimbo.icon7.gif
