Water Tank
Lightning Gene replied to We Wash Concrete's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I have used these 275 gallon totes for a year or better.Never had one bust and I just keep about 50 gallons of water in them with no tie downs and they don't move.Just need to rinse them out with bleach to keep the algae down... -
Sure wish some of these seminars were closer.

WHAT To Do With LOWBALLERS?
Lightning Gene posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I recently bid on a vinyl fence cleaning after researching past threads.I think I gave a fair estimate of .20 per linear ft x 2 sides of a 3 board fence. The footage was 2800 feet for both sides and I bid 600.00.Also was to haul water to the ranch to do the job.The ho said he thought that was fair and would call me Monday...I called today and he informed me he found someone who would do it a whole lot cheaper.I guess my question is after I find out who shredded my bid should I call them and ask why they work so cheap? Should I just remember who it was and meet or beat their prices in the future?Or just chalk it up to experince. I own everything in my business with no loan payments and very little overhead, and I can really bid jobs cheap but I hate to work for nothing....Ok I am thru venting but would like to hear what others would do....Thx -
WHAT To Do With LOWBALLERS?
Lightning Gene replied to Lightning Gene's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Well I read alot of responses and I agree that I should just let it drop and not pursue the issue. Its just hard going full time in January with no other income to let these jobs go to a Lowballer with no overhead, a 300.00 washer,a box of tide, and a bottle of clorox. May The fleas of A Thousand Camels infest his armpits and I wish him Good Luck ! -
surface cleaners / which one?
Lightning Gene replied to rj242's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I look at the price this way.If it saves me 1 hr on a decent size job it will pay for itself fairly quickly. -
surface cleaners / which one?
Lightning Gene replied to rj242's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Yes that is the one I tested and bought. The gum buster is mounted on the side of the front caster. It has about 6 orfices about 2 inches off the ground. One handle operates the broom, one operates the cleaner....quick disconnect one and hook up to the gumbuster to remove tar, gum ect...I was really impressed...PRICe?....retails for 1295.00 I bought mine 1100.00 out the door at the show...Broke my surface cleaner today on a job so I will be looking to try my new one monday or tuesday when I pick it up.... -
surface cleaners / which one?
Lightning Gene replied to rj242's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Well after trying the steel eagle and the Hydro-tek ant3 contractor model The Hydro-tek out performed the Eagle hands down.Dual controls,Water broom that actually works great, and a added bonus of a gum buster mounted on the side. You can actually clean with a side to side motion which cuts your work time ........ -

How long can I run pump to ck unloader without causing damage or heat up the belts? -
Also having a pressure gauge helps you lower the pressure to what you want...

insurance just went up
Lightning Gene replied to douseahouse's question in Residential Pressure Washing
After reserching several companies I went with J Walters.CCC insurance is extra under an edorsement...don't think most people know that....If you leak water in a window and ruin something inside general liability will cover it.But use the wrong chemicals and burn up their shrubs or stain their siding you better have the ccc endorsement..... -
I have a new construction very expensive aluminum roof to clean. It has been coated with brick or mortor dust and discolored the brown to a dust color that I cannot find anything to take it off and restore to original condition. It is also very steep but I have a 50 ft snokel lift that can get me fairly close. The only way I got it somewhat clean was on a test patch was hand scrubbing it with roof cleaner...Anyone ever ran into this problem and have a solution to this problem? Thx....in....Advance
