  1. Hey there.... You guys are a big help ! I had another question, I want to get a unit with 2 hoses comming off of it ... How does this affect the pressure and GPM ?? Is it recomended ? Is it better to just get 2 seperate units all together ?? I'd like some insight from those who have "been there done that" and from those who have worked these type of units ... - As always, Thanks so much ... - John
  2. Truck units or Trailers ?

That's what I was thinking ??? Aparently I must be missing something.. Where does the burner go inside the van for the hot water units, what about the relief valve where the water is gushing out, what about when the hose reel O rings go out and the reels leak water, and all of the gas and diesel fumes, plus exaust ??? How could you run these type of units in an inclosed van ?????
  3. Hello again, I'm about to wash a home for the second time in the last few days that has some (hard to word it) it's this crud that's left on homes after you pull vines off the homes. Like the lil. attachment footers that hold the vines to the house... The last house I did with this junk on it was brick so the hot water and pressure wasn't going to hurt anything ... Man I put all kinds of pressure and heat, and chems on that junk and it would only come off in certain parts. This next house has this stuff of a masonite siding (can't put the same force on it) is there a chem. or trick to getting this junk off ??? ps. I wish I had a picture :{
  4. vines growing on homes ... ???

Thanks for the confirmation. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some trick or chem I didn't know about.. I did tell the home owner up front that I could get all the dirt and mildew off her driveway and home, but those vines (That picture was exactly the same thing) were going to stay unless she was planning on painting that area, and even then I wouldn't use pressure to get it off considering it was a masonite ... So yeah, this is all good to know for future referance as well.... Thanks again, J.W
  5. Truck units or Trailers ?

Yeah, I was thinking about making a skid that mounts onto the bed with clamps and having a hoist system to take it off with if I want to put it on a trailer for some reason or just have an open bed on my truck .. I'm leaning more and more with this idea... This way if the truck does need maintenance I can just place the system elsewhere on a trailer or what have you untill the truck is running again ....
  6. A "Spy" called me yesterday....

I had the same type of phone call a few days ago from a Guy though ...
  7. Hey guys, anybody out there know of something that takes permanent marker off of driveway without leaving an uneven white mark on that area ??? I have a client who wants me to take off some purple perm. marker his 5 yr. old daughter had a "fun time" on the driveway with. But he doesn't want the whole thing cleaned, just the marker w/ no "Bright spots" where I worked.... ?? any ideas ? something easy to get as this job is on Monday (feb. 26th) thanks again,
  8. permanent marker on driveway ..

ahh, this driveway is pretty big.. No way could I clean it for free, I'll think about the 50% off deal. He may go with it ...
  9. permanent marker on driveway ..

kool, I'll try it out... Sounds good to me, will it leave a white spot ? "30 bucks" - Nope this is a house wash (2 story 4K sq. ft.) I told him I would see if I could remove the marker while I was there, take a few min. if it works I'll increase my chances of getting repeat from him next year. A simple "freebie" goes a mile...
  10. Heavy Equipment Washing

Thank you guys so much, TGS has been good to me, saved me time and money ... You guys advice is Golden ... !!! Woohoo, spring time is near !
  11. I was thinking about what moves the typical person, what catches thier attention ? I figured they were not much different than I am so inorder to better draw them to action (call my number) I should make their decision making process very easy for them. I don't think people like to think to hard when they come home from work (and see a door hanger) probably just look at it and chunk it.. But what if that door hanger had a price on it already to wash their particular house (of-course you could "up-sell" driveway, patio, etc etc. after they called) but I believe a simple door hanger with a blank on it where you could write in an estimated figure would go much further than (joe blows pressure washing service, yea.. just one of your 20 choices in this area .. but call us anyway) Of-course you would get more calls if you gave them a good price and they saw you took the time to estimate their particular house... I've never done this, just wondering if any of you had ??? Do you guys think this would be better than a simple door hanger ???
  12. New Door Hanger Idea.. Good or Bad ?

Yeah, the 10% approach didn't work to well on my last hanger. People always call and the first thing they ask is "How Much" ? So in my neck of the woods (louisiana) people want good work but they want a good deal as well. And I have to be honest, I'm someway new to this field ... So I can't say "Yeah I've been doing this for 20 years" I would have had to start when I was 4 years old ... This will be my first full season to be in business, so I have to get into it somehow.. I am insured and have hot water, and surface cleaner which should help me out as well... I'm not going to low ball by anymeans, but just give them a good job at a fair price so I can lock in some repeat clients ...
  13. Ok, I'm humbled before you guys, because I'm quite new to this business and would love to know (not how to do the work) but how you guys are getting all of this work.. I'd also like to know what you guys spend so much money on ? I only pay 100 / month for insurance, and gas and maintenance is not that expensive on machines, your workers are more assets and not liabilities .. .. i must be missing something.. but then again, I'm new...
