  1. Adjustable flow?

John, Can you reduce the flow or just the pressure? Can you still run two guns at a time with the flow unloader?
  2. Adjustable flow?

I think I am getting it. Unfortunately my machine is in the shop. I have a Hydro Tek 5.6 @3600psi. It claims to be a steam machine. So it probably already has the valve. And it has a gauge. Does that mean I can tip it down to reduce the flow. It came with a #5 tip for steam. THANKS, Todd
  3. Adjustable flow?

Excellent!!! I definitely want a flow unloader... I'm new to working on these machines. I not sure where you mean by "opposite from the unloader line". I'll have to give you a call when this becomes closer to a reality. THANKS for the heads up!!!! Todd
  4. In GOD we trust no more?

I think Adam is right on that one...
  5. I just did a bid for a guy that lives on a really steep hill. And his driveway approach is even steeper. Can I run my machine on a hill? I know my little portable machine won't run on hills. WHATDAYATHINK?
  6. Hydro-Tek skid on a hill ?

Thanks I'll give it a try. I won't be able to side hill it. But I can bring my portable for back up.
  7. Ok, I went by to do the job and it was all green. (Washington). Has anyone used bleach on Wood Tux? I'm gonna have to clean again....
  8. sodium hypochlorite

Everyone knows what bleach is. If I use Apple sauce I tell them I will be using a roof cleaner with bleach. If I'm using bleach on a house I tell them I'll use bleach to kill the mold. I've heard it said that bleach turns to salt when it hits the ground. But ??? I do tell them that I haven't seem it kill anything yet. But you never know with them fragile type flowers. Cleaners are easier on the house. That's a good thing ey? If they really don't like bleach Landa Matrix is a good house wash.
  9. I applied wood tux to a deck that had frost on it when I arrived. By the time I got done with the railing the frost was gone. The deck looked great, but the one day this winter when it actually dried there were many white spots around the knots where it didn't penetrate. There is a picture on my website under wood. Still waiting for another dry day to second coat it.
  10. Best Compact Trailer Rig?

    :lgbouncesYep !!!!!!! Gotta start somewhere...................:groovy:
  11. Best Compact Trailer Rig?

I agree with Richard about setting up your own. However I chose the skid because it was all there with a warrantee and a local repairman, beings I was busy and new to the whole hot water thing. I figured it would be easier to replace parts as needed. Had a couple of small blips with the machine and the dealer fixed it the same day. I think the appearance of the unit has made up for some of the money I would have saved by setting up my own. I call the skid my salesman. I have mine set up in a 7x14 inclosed trailor.
  12. Best Compact Trailer Rig?

You probably should check out Hydro-tek. They are out of Calif. I have the "Ultimate" skid. But they have trailors. Has a 24 honda and 5.6gpm cat pump. Hot and cold with steam. Great unit and it looks nice too.
  13. Moss removal

We can do it NOW with Applesauce. But if you live in the trees or near by, gonna need zink every year.(maintaince program)
  14. cwf uv5

Rod I stripped the years of Behr off it b-4 I sealed it... Just a note - This was before I knew about oxalic. So I only stripped with sodiumhydroxide. Saw the owner the oter day and he wanted to know if he need to seal again? But the deck still looks great.
  15. Thanks, I'll have to try one of those. I've got a new one on right now and it sucked suds 200' yesterday no problem. Have to put it to the test. But 500' is incredible.
  16. Welcome New Members! ..Introduce yourself

:lgwave:My name is Todd. I've been washing for two years now. But thanks to these forums. And mostly this forum. I am making good money and doing way better quality than folks around here could ever tell me how to. Stepped up to the Hydro Tek 5.6gpm 3500 psi Ultimate machine. Well worth the money.
  17. Joel, How do you get your chems to pull so far? I'e got 5 gpm @3500and I seem to max out at 150.
  18. Moss removal

Zink sulfate is a powder and can br purchased at the feed store. Sprinkle it on thick and the moss will be dead in 5 weeks. Zink cloride is available at most any garden type store and can be sprayed on. Mix acording to the lable. 5 weeks also. Bleach tsp borax is also another quick method. but zink is a better maintaince product.
  19. I use 1 150' blue hose. No couplers to scrape on the corners of the house. It seems to be just about the lenght I need, but I also have several 50'ers for back up.
  20. More x-jet advice

I never even figured out how those proportioners fit in the thing. Just mix it the way you want it , or how it works best for ya and shoot. I mainly use mine for strong dilutions or high stuff. Down stream the rest. I think you just get use to not turning those adjustable nozzels down too far.
  21. cwf uv5

The uv5 out performs the old by far. Stripped two decks used uv5 redwood two years ago and except for the planter spots, looks like the day I used it. (Incredible) However I used uv5 base on my one of my decks and it held better than the old stuff. Not as good as the redwood. Mine needs done this year. His is going strong. They told me base was cedar tone, but i bet there most be some color close to cedar tone. As color is suppose to be UV.
  22. WTW tips

Thanks Beth, Russel gave the same advice with the mineral spirits. I should have known that. But I will have to try the "Japan dryer."
