[WTW tips]

I wish I would have read this last week. I stripped two decks on Mon. Sealed them heavily with WTW on Wed and they are still wet today. Any suggestions?

[Problems with cabots??]

Looked at the log house and you could tell it was actually the cabots molding black. It was moldy on the deck where it dripped and the rest of the deck was fine. Hd - 80 full strength stripped it easy. I told them to get rid of the cabots. A painter friend sold me an cabots a few years ago so I used it on all my own decks. Stripped it off soon after. No good in wet climates. In fact he was at the coast this week fixing cedar shingles. The home owner had them dipped in cabots b/4 installed , 6 months ago. Failed already , imagaine that!

Very nice!!! Hey where do you get that boost for the stripper? My first two

deck jobs this year took two times stripping with hd-80 full strength. However

I do like it better than the SH jelly I was using before.

[Problems with cabots??]

We have lots of problems with Cabots in the northwest. I'm looking at a log home that's just totally failing and the black mold covers whole logs. Any ideas how to get all the black out?

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to try it for maintenance.

Is there a time for percarbonate and a time for hydroxide?

Maybe one for solid stains and one for non-solid stains?

Hydroxide seems good for black on solid stained decks.

I used it on a way weathered deck last year and it looked great. And I think

PWNA recommends it for cleaning decks. I nornally hear sodium hydroxide on these forums. That's what I've been using. But I thought the percarbonate might be a budget option. I used oxyclean. Also a chemical dealer will see it to me with sodium metesilicate in it. I'll just have to keep the experiments going.

When to use and when not to use? It works great on decks that haven't been stained. And it seems to work on a deck where the stains are weathered off. Can it be used to strip a weak/old stain?
