  1. Pressure Washer question

Simply put (from someone who has researched but never washed a hood to date) if you don't know how to properly clean a kitchen hood/exhaust system then you are not ready to pick out equipment. Some of the pros don't even use a pressure washer these days. You have to learn then decide which style you'll be using to clean. I have a large trailer mounted hot water machine and I wouldn't take it on the job to clean a hood. It's really a specialty in itself. There's a company in Oregon I saw on craigs list that will pay you 10 bucks an hour to clean hoods all night. No experience needed as you'll be working with an experienced crew to teach you. Just a thought.
  2. What would this most likely be related to? Just picked this small cold water machine up used. 5.5 hp with small CAT pump. Going to use to spray chems to save the "good machine".
  3. You can't get hurt too bad for $400. It was most likely used hard by painters but it they changed the oil etc it should run for you for $400 bucks worth. As for the cold water portable units (which I just use for application of chemicals) you can always find some homeowner that has spent $2200 and used it a few times and lost interest then sells it for 4-700 bucks. If the pump is good you did ok. Change all oils before using the first time.
  4. Window cleanings insurance concerns

The folks that insure me demand lump payment of 1100/yr period. That can be tough for us little guys.
  5. New twist in marketing or been there, done that?

Ya, nothing new under the sun applies to marketing too...
  6. New twist in marketing or been there, done that?

I like the thought of a limit on the time of sale preceeding payment. Also, and I should have thought of this before, the owner/seller would be easier to get payment from and I like the idea of drawing up a contract. Researching the time of homes on the market is a good suggestion. I would like to give it a go with some of the forums' advice and see where it takes me. Thanks much, Bill
  7. So, the economy is not all that. How am I going to market? Then it came to me. What if I were to market real estate agents like this... It's a tough time to sell a home so what is the cheapest way to make your homes more attractive then the rest of the homes out there? Nobody wants to spend money on a place with black and green flatwork etc. But it gets better. I'll clean your home for sale and won't accept payment until you receive your commission. I know there will be non payments involved and some homes simply won't sell. If 5% of jobs don't pay I would still be happy. But is it a good strategy? I am not sensitive so gimme your opinion and thanks in advance. BTW, I hate marketing but love to clean!! Bill
