Wood Tux Vs. ReadySeal
Tmrrptr replied to fireandrain's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Tinting your own is not such a big deal... We've done it the night before a job, and, on the job when we had run short of product. No Fear! Do it! r Oops! Forgot myself... I fear the foam. -
Wow! That Irobot looks like lots of fun! I could sell my violator, the RC-10s, the savage, duratrax, Mini-t's, and even some of the others... Go to work and play w Irobot and tell my wife I was working all day! Now, if I can just get clients to pay for me to bring Irobot to their homes... r

torsion or leaf spring
Tmrrptr replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
For heavy duty loading, leaf springs. For a soft ride, torsion suspension of one sort or other may be employed. The trailer mfg may like torsion because they have a neat little axle package they can install quickly on the frame. ...Try fixing a broke torsion bar on the roadside. I did, once. Jacked up the truck and stuck wood blocks between axle and frame. ...It got us home! Other methods use rubber snubber things that eventually slump. No fix but replacement... if that flavor still available. In most leaf spring stacks, (I think by law) there are at least 2 full length leaves that will hold things up if others get cracked. r -
Oh c'mon, it all depends if Tuff took the red pill, or the blue pill. But they're both symbolic, anyway...you say? The search button IS extremely valuable! r

Remote Cup-HVLP
Tmrrptr replied to Stuart Nabors's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
It will probably work fine for the ballusters. ..Look in a cheaper place if 300 is best deal on guns. Harbor Freight has em down to $8 bucks! r -
Alan, how small a tank would you consider using for an 8gpm machine, figuring there was actually water on every site? r

Remote Cup-HVLP
Tmrrptr replied to Stuart Nabors's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Stuart, I use hvlp a lot. Mostly a capspray 9100 4 turbine w a pressure pot or 2qt cup and remote line for the gun, and feed pressure to the pot w an import compressor cost less than $100... The prob w hvlp is it is slow... NOT for production speed. and, you need an 8-9cfm compressor to get an hvlp conversion gun working at a speed where you don't have to wait for the compressor to build up. I do not know anything about the cheap turbines, never used one. Harbor freight is a good source for cheap guns, press pots, and hose. r -
Black ?Mold? on rock house????
Tmrrptr replied to dcoronado's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Hello D, Doesn't look too bad to me, (I like to tell people God made it that way), but you might try some phosphoric acid and let it set a bit before rinse. r -
any1 use F-8 Nuetralizer/Brightener from Pressuretek
Tmrrptr replied to xpresscleanups's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Welcome Xpress! Even MORE from CA ! ...Don't quit that govt job just yet... Based upon your locale, I would strongly advise you run a search here on water recovery issues before getting real active. It will be important. r -
Glad to see more CA people aboard here Sparkle! Yeah, when you get to the music thread, click on the red button for the metal feed in Quad, if you got it. r

I think you would be better off with a used 3/4 ton pickup to pull that much trailer than trying to use a full sized suv. Well, other than an excursion... but they are in a class by themselves. A trailer that drives the tow vehicle is a recipe for disaster. r

I put pump saver in one of my airless pumps the other day, that had not been run in a week, and a bit of rusty water came out as the pumpsaver went in... not great. So I figured it would be a good idea to run some through my PW pumps, also. While at HD on another project I found PVC fittings that would do the trick. The 3/4 male <<hosebib>> thread to slip fitting was just the ticket, and threaded into the filter inlet. HD also carries the street 90, which fits right into the other. No glue, I just turned it up, and the volume was enough to get some coming out the pressure side of the pump when I pulled the motor over a couple times. Ingredients in pump saver probably same as antifreeze. For the 2 bucks spent, I feel better! r

Wow! This is a long thread! What was that about an F-150 getting pushed out to middle of hiway by trailer? ...That was just driving too fast... all vehicles equal when brakes locked on ice! I once had an articulated John Deere motorgrader chained up on all 6 sliding sideways down a hill on the ice... Scary to be helpless. r

Cedar House Restoration
Tmrrptr replied to Scott Paul's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Those folks got a wonderful looking home! Their lives will be improved for years... and all they had to do was cut loose w some greenbacks? What a bargain ! r -
I like the 5.6 bought from Envirospec, one of our vendors that help support TheGrimeScene. It is night and day from the smaller machine I used before. 8gpm would be awesome! Name of the game is production. Only way to do that is gpm's. r

Reducing shock/vibration on homemade skid unit

Cut donuts out of old tire and stack 'em... You might want to run a belt drive for less vibration. r -
