  1. Seems to me this is why PW and painting go hand in hand...

If periodic maintenance HAD been done more frequently, there would be little chance of mildew getting to a point where it was degenerating the paint. Especially if a housewash product was used with a wax rinse.

Advise client this could occur. As long as you pre-wet everything and apply bottom up and rinse top down there's not much more you can do.

  2. A couple years back, working at the rear of a new home, one of our amigos came flying over a fence and ran up asking tiene un trapo???

Jose was pretty excited but I had to say no sabe.

I didn't know that word. and he pulled at his shirt

I said camisa? No No and he ran off to their truck parked a distance away.

Pretty much had to learn minimal spanish, because you never know what will come up.

A spray man at the front of the house to paint the door had the tip come loose on the gun and blew a quick blast of paint all over the front porch and the helper kid was running to find rags.

I think it important that ALL workers, and not only the supervisor speak English.

  3. Now that I think of it, we had probs with a client this time last year.

They wanted to rush a job, and we certainly wanted the money, but just could not do the work because surfaces were too cold.

MOF, the situation has caused bad feelings to this day.

It was a flipper, and they felt a window of opportunity was missed, at the beginning of the housing bubble burst.

Some things are just beyond my control!

  4. Good to hear you are home with the family for Christmas, Kevin!

Yep... It's all a matter of perspective...

My wife took the Christmas day shift at work to let others spend time w family. One family she works with hopes to have their serviceman home from Iraq in a few weeks. We pray for them.

The shock of an imported plastic commercial holiday buying blast impacted us a number of years ago when we went to a wallymart store. But we enjoy seeing others enjoying the spree.

  5. Merry Christmas to all.

    ...pulled out an old scanner...

    Stay off main st usa!

traffic enforcement types REALLY started hitting the streets in force in the evenings!!

They must be trying to take home a big bag of goodies.

Must be ruining Christmas season for a lot of people.

    Avoid being one of them.

If you are attending a holiday party, get someone else to drive!

  6. I obviously have far too much time on my hands.

    Work is VERY slow.

We rent, borrow, buy and get library movies, so they are not necessarily new...

Quentin tarantino/robert rodriguez newest grindhouse/planet terror were absolute trash. Q is little more than a warped, twisted deviant and R can at least make films.

Not that I won't give a thumbs up for druggie movies...

Bug, with ashley judd was intense.

Crank with jason statham and amy smart was crazy.

    and we watch foreign films...

In July is a neato interesting flick.

Best of this batch is Hacking Democracy.

If you LIVE HERE, you should watch it !

  8. sfla,

Sounds to me like all you need is some kind of wheels, instead of the casters, to keep the spinning mechanism up off the paver surface... you got plenty of pump.

Maybe get either some go-kart wheels with a stout bolt for axle or maybe wheel barrow wheels... Pick the surface machine of your choice and take it to a welder and have him weld some forks on there in tricycle fashion so it's at a suitable level and go to town.

  9. Yup, doesn't take much to eat up a deck...

My pres gage was reading 1700 the other day when I was doing construction cleanup on concrete... 15% tip was fine for most the mess but held real close wouldn't budge adhesives walked all over the place, concrete splatter left for months, and some kind of epoxy stuff... DID leave chicken tracks, though.

And then there was the massive paint spill...

I'd give up my 5.6gpm @ 2500psi for a pump that would put out more gpm @ less pressure. REALLY want a hotbox.
