Jeremiah, Depends on what your going to use it for and how often you use it. Most of the time these nozzles are not used properly, causing damage. If you truly need this type of weapon, will it be used on a regular basis? If so price should not be a top concern. Give me an idea of use and I'll try to help you as much as possible.

Go to lowes get the contractor grade red garden hose. It is more expensive, but it has a lifetime warranty. When ever it developes a leak just take it back and they will give you a brand neww section. If you do buy this hose when you get home put a nozzle on the end and hook it up to you house, keep water pressure in it for a few hours to work out the kinks.

Really, we need more politics here? This forum has become so divided over the last 18-24 months. It has really gotten away from what it is really good at, contractors helping one another and sharing experinces. Can we also have a thread on religon? I'm a Christian. Do you want to know what I think of your religon? If so post your views on your GOD and I will respond. How about Race, theres a good thread. I'm white, what about you? Ethnic background? Pro-life or Pro-choice? Lets get it all out of the way, then maybe we can talk about power washing, roof cleaning, flatwork, gpm, psi,etc...

Ron, You want to review your recent posts over the last three months. While your intentions may have been good, the perception of others may not be. This board use to be great. It use to be a place to learn, share, and fellowship. This board is still good, and we still learn and share, but it could be and should be better. There is so much attacking and just negitive posting that it just brings down the entire board. You may (and others) want to reevaluate your motives and goals here, the message is not coming across as positive. It may be a case of bees to honey vs vinegar. Just my two cents.

Should pressure washing companies be licensed???
scpressure replied to Henry Bockman's question in Residential Pressure Washing
The government is not the answer to the problem of poor service. How many calls do we get asking for a price over the phone? The consumers must take responsibilty for who they invite to their home. There is that percentage of homeowners that choose a contractor based on just one thing the lowest price. I tell homeowners price shopping is fine when it comes to products like your favorite soda, if you like Coke where ever you buy it and regardless of the price you will get Coke. Service is a different story all together. If you were going out to eat for a special occasion would you choose the worst server so you could justify leaving a 10% tip or would you request the best server and feel very good leaving 20+% knowing that server enhanced your special night? When I get a vibe that a homeowner is only interested is the cheapest price I ask them "What are you looking for in a power washing contractor?" most of the time a puzzled look comes across their face. I break the akward silence with I'm sure price is one of your priorities, Do you want the contractor to be insured? Experinced? References? I recently Bid a house at $500.00 a couple days later I followed up with the homeowner and she told me that my price was twice the other guys. I ask her what company gave her the $250.00 bid? She told me well, its not a company its my secretary's husband and it's not like he could hurt anything so I'm just going to save $250.00. We all know there are millions of homeowners like that one. Why should we ask the government to protect them? They have the ability to protect themselves, by asking a few simple questions and doing some simple homework.- 163 replies

World peace. LOL just kidding. 8 gpm skid, mac daddy roof cleaning system.

Looks great. Every house dirty or not. At the very least homeowners will be exposed to your company and logo. You will get direct results from the dirty homes and indirect results (name recognition) from the clean homes.

John, I think what ever the industries trust factor was in your leadership two months ago has taken a big hit. You may want to step back, re-evaluate, and build some trust before trying to start a new org.

Need a little help please -
scpressure replied to netspider's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Dan, One of the most frustrating aspects of this business, is how to keep the equipment running in order to get the job done beyond the expectations of your client. You are in the early stages of trouble shooting equipment and I have complete confidence in you understanding, what the problem could be and how to fix it. Before you know it you will reward yourself driving away from a job, knowing your client had no idea how many obstacles you had to jump over and run through to exceed their expectations. While it is may be frustrating keeping the equipment running it is even more satisfying knowing you can and will get the job done. Most of the time, trouble shooting starts with the water supply and ends with what is coming out of the tip. The variables between those factors are not complicated (hose, engine, pump, hose, wand and tip). Here are my top ten tips on how to get the job done. 9. o-rings 1/4" and 3/8" 8.wrenches, atleast 2 adjustable 7.teflon tape 6.extra downstrime injector 5.quick connects 2 each male and female 4. 2 of every tip you may use 3. extra fuel gas and or diesal 2. hose 50-75' each supply and pressure 1. REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU BROUGHT TO THE JOB GET IT DONE, WITHOUT YOUR CLIENT KNOWING IT WAS ANYTHING BUT A PLEASURE TO SEVERE THEM. -

I would like some advice on roof washing equipment. I am ready to invest in equipment, education and marketing for roof cleaning. My short term goal is to do between 30-50 roof jobs in the first half of 2010. I need to know the pros and cons of different set-ups. Any advice you can lend me we be a great help. Thank you.

Larry, I have searched and read the old threads. What set-up do you use, and what are the pros and cons? thanks.

Help with pricing
scpressure replied to Visionzlandscapes's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Ken, This guy whom ever he is, is not interested in doing the right thing. All of his questions have to do with how much money he can take from people. In not one of his posts did he mention anything thing about learning how do deliver great service to a homeowner. If ten seasoned wood restoration contractors told him how much they charge, he would apply the highest price to his work regardless of his experience or desire to use products that will give the homeowner a true value. -
Help with pricing
scpressure replied to Visionzlandscapes's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Why did you come to this forum? Did you come here to find out the highest price you can charge a homeowner having zero experience and boat rinsing equipment. OK here is your answer $12.00 per sq/ft. Now go out and find a homeowner who is willing to say so what is the total for the job at that rate? Then come back here and ask Ken how to measure it. Your success in the wood restoration business is right around the corner, and the downfall of your grass cutting business is not likely. -
Coastal HydroPower, inc in please. Thanks Ron.

Early one morning I was pumping shc into empty(so i thought) 5gal buckets. About 3 seconds into the second bucket I heard air being forced from the top of the bucket followed by a stream of foam spuing everywhere, ceiling, my arms and face. This was cause by dried oxilic in the bottom of the bucket being rehydrated with shc, not a good combo.

You may have a leak somewhere. Maybe a bad o-ring.
