I normally might not say this, but based on your posts and others so far, it sounds like what you're really saying is: "I see dollar signs in my future if I can pull this off, but I've been caught with my pants down. It's been said before that I need more/better equipment than I currently have. Now I know that, but I'm desperate to impress these people, so screw all the above mentioned limitations and just give me someone/something for a quick resolution to my situation." Don't take it personally, but if business is so good right now, why not spend the cash and take care of the situation yourself AND improve your set-up for the future? Like I said, I'm not trying to argue, but the cart was ahead of the mule on this one in my most humble opinion. Whatever the case might be, Good Luck!

Views on Surface cleaners
Don Phelps replied to First Impressions's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I have a 20" Whirl-A-Way, 24" Whisper Wash Aqua Pro and a 30" Whisper Wash Big Guy. The first two are floaters and we probably use the 24" more than the other two. It's very manageable, yet provides a slighter larger cleaning radius than the 20. Other than the occasional o-ring or tip replacement, none of them have caused any problems. -
Looking for a used Deckster
Don Phelps replied to Jeff Robison's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Ken, Make sure they tear it down for ya if it's got over 200 hours on it! :lgbounces -
What would you consider acceptable as far as hours on a used machine?
Don Phelps replied to Clean Solutions's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I personally wouldn't buy one with more than 500 hrs on it, but it's a question that's relative to an individual's philosphy on purchasing used equipment/vehicles. I'm sure there are many that would find more/less hours acceptable. -
It's interesting to watch the collateral effect of the situation. I'm sure this will erck some of the hardcore right-wingers, but where's Uncle Sam??? Gonna blame it on the media? All of those that think the country is so wonderful, think back to the 1500's. That's when terrorism really started in America, and your ancestors weren't the ones being attacked. The problem can usually be found in the mirror. It's just another sign of the times for all of the hypocrites. Sorry, it's just my opinion, and I needed a good rant.....lol. I'm done!

My '01 3500 was gas. The thing with diesel for me is the fact that I'll probably never own one long enough to maximize it's engine life anyway. The wife and I usually try to get new vehicles every 5 years or less. The dually was purchased in '02. Many people will be downsizing soon. Gas prices probably won't have drastic drops like they used to. Just a sign of the times, I guess.

I hurt my back and spent 6 weeks sleeping on the floor. Didn't help! Came home with a bottle of Jim Beam one night and the wife flipped. She said "What are you doing?" I said "It's either drink or cry!" Next morning, got up and went to the Dr. and he said I had a bulging disc. With a lot of stretching and no real lifting in the past year, it's gotten better but I still feel it everyday. Growing old is a bitc#!

The plan would be for them to pay a small fee to me (to cover my expenses only) and make out a check to the Red Cross which I would collect and turn them all in at once to RC. To put them at more ease, they could simply write 'For Deposit Only' on the back top portion of their checks as an added measure of security. It would be a 'win-win-win' situation in that the Red Cross will get a donation, the customer will get a clean driveway/sidewalk and I would have the opportunity to make another business contact for possible future consideration.

Glad to hear it, Beth!

With two of the hurricanes effecting Orlando directly last year, it was about 2-3 months after everything finally settled down before there was any interest in PWing. With so much structural damage, there were many repairs/replacements happening initially and those alone took what seemed like forever due to the sheer number of homes and businesses effected and the lack of roofing materials available. It did eventually roll around to the cosmetic side of the situation and many started scheduling exterior cleaning. I'm considering doing something like possibly offering a sizable discount on concrete cleaning in return for a $25 donation to the Red Cross. Please post your comments and opinions on this idea. There needs to be as much support as possible generated for this disaster relief. Last year seemed like a nightmare here, but after seeing those pics of N.O. under water, it seems like much less of a disaster here.

Congratulations to all who enjoy spending money on gas. I do this part-time at this point and like it that way. :lgbow:

It's an absolute shame that people are going to lose their lives, but this is a Cat 5 hurricane that's headed toward a city shaped like a bowl, sitting below sea level. I just hope that for once, more people listen and take it as seriously as they need to. This is gonna be ugly!

Excellent job!

QC gun to wand or not?
Don Phelps replied to Neil_Asheville's question in Residential Pressure Washing
We use the stainless q/c's on our guns. We also bend all of our lances 20 degrees. -
I used both today while cleaning a pool enclosure. Applied the chem with the downstreamer and rinsed the higher parts of the frame with the M-5. They both have their uses.
