  1. Land of Nuts & Fruits

He has a child and cheats on his wife and gets a raw deal??? Interesting!
  2. Chem pump set-up - 150-200'

125 gallon tank on the trailer with 200 ft of 3/8 poly-braided hose and a ShurFlo attached to a group 27 deep cycle marine battery. Everything is on the trailer except for the hose and wand. Whether chem is being applied undiluted or otherwise doesn't matter as long as the ShurFlo has viton seals and santoprene valves. As long as the hose is primed at ground level, it will pump 200+ ft with no problem.
  3. Purple Power

    Gutter Shock
  4. Purple Power

It works OK on gutters too, in a pinch. Just be careful.....It can and will remove paint if applied too strong.
  5. Globalization

INTERNATIONAL THINKING Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization? Answer: Princess Diana's death. Question: How come? Answer: An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling) followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles; treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines. This is sent to ! you by an American, using Bill Gate's technology, and you're probably reading this on your computer, that use Taiwanese chips, and a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by Indian lorry-drivers, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen, and trucked to you by Mexican illegals..... That, my friends, is Globalization
  6. Citriclean & Emulsifier Plus

Whether it's citraclean or other house wash mixes, sodium metasilicate, sodium hypochlorite and some suds are the key ingredients. The same basic formula can be found at several different vendors. Pre-wetting certain surfaces can help too. Good luck!
  7. Here we go again Hurricane season!

    Check it out! http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-cp/history/WEBCUTTERS/Intrepid_52315.html
  8. Did they give you a discount for buying in bulk? :)
  9. Busy Time of the Year

The slowest 3 months that I have are in June, July and August. The kids are out of school in FL and their families tend to travel North on vacation during those months. December is actually one of my busiest months.
  10. Painting Exterior with Sprayer

I painted ours with an airless in Feb. and sprayed the body of the house first, without concerning myself with the overspray on the trim, since it would be painted as well. Then went back and did the trim with a brush and smaller roller for the finishing touch. Turned out great, but it's a must to do it on a windless day.
  11. Tender Plants and Roof Cleaning

You'll probably have a small amount of run-off from the shurflo, but watering and possibly tarping will help considerably on homes without gutters. If there is an absolute downpour or very steady rain, the concentrations of chlorine left will be negligible. However, the very brief shower or short drizzle can and will cause problems by re-activating the chlorine and creating run-off. In certain situations we'll tarp something off, but you're correct in the fact that tarps do create a concentrated area of run-off as well. This being said, we'll usually concentrate on the areas that the 'valleys' (creases) in the tarps have channeled the run-off to. Depending on what kind of plant we're covering and where it is in relation to the drip line, we'll leave one side of the tarp pulled to the outer top edge of the plant(s) and the remainder sloping down toward the area against the house to deflect the run-off that direction since there is usually very little to harm there. FYI.....Posting roof questions/comments in the 'Up On The Roof' forum will possibly bring more attention to them.
  12. Question for start

I've never understood why someone actually wants to work for $35-$50 a driveway when it cost the homeowner $70 to rent a machine w/o the surface cleaner and attempt it themselves then return the machine. My prices start at $65 for that very reason. The only reason it's not higher is because occasionally I'll run into a single car garage/driveway and it takes less than 30 minutes to do, front sidewalk and walkway to front door included. That being said, I have hot water and a choice of 3 different surface cleaners to use (20, 24, 30 inch). If they'll pay you $70, why do it for $35? Twice as much work and more expense for the same amount of money. Hey....As always, whatever works.
  13. What happened?

Looks like the aftermath of a sniper's scope on an insurgent's head to me! :lgbugeyes
  14. Both actually.....If you aren't generating any pressure by choking it, you're defeating the purpose of trying to rinse anything at any discernable distance. It works for me.
  15. I can choke mine (K-7), but you're correct. It's not nearly as much pressure as you can generate with a pressure actuated unloader.
  16. As Michael mentioned, it's great for rinsing plants, grass, roofs etc. Just choke the valve partially shut and start rinsing. You can also make yourself a rinse nozzle with a q/c and tip for the valve and skip the gun if weight is an issue.
  17. I thought Alan was the king of 3-way ball valves. :lgbounces
  18. O.K......Back to helping the gentleman with his ball valve question.
  19. I'm not sure whether you can afford mine or not, but here's a starter hot water rig for those that think they're ready to make the jump. It's a back-up of mine. http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3538
  20. The same reason that you might turn your A/C on while driving to the job, rather than rolling down the window. I'm done......Ever thought about getting a hot water machine or is it too much trouble too? :lgbow::lgbounces
  21. So, are you saying that you're lugging the ball valve around anyway and it's just not always on the hose? I have hot, by the way.
  22. If you're really that weak....LOL! Just joking....Do whatever works for you!
  23. Gimme a break! I suppose you could just stay home and have someone else do it. If it's not xjet hoses someone is whining about, it's a ball valve. Obviously summer is in full effect and the heat is taking it's toll. Maybe one day we can have stainless steel robots that do it all for us. :lgmoneyey
  24. That's what whip hoses are for.
  25. Interesting......Can you explain this, Philip?
