Hey Squirtgun, If this thing does what they think it might, you'll be in line for some action also. Fay Predicted To Rage Into Hurricane, Slam Florida Again - Orlando Weather News Story - WKMG Orlando

Our power just went out and came back on about 3-4 minutes later. Hope that's it. Otherwise it might turn into a long, hot night....and I don't mean that in a good way! :2eyes:

I just spoke with Mel (PWKid) down in Vero Beach. There was a tornado that touched down just North of him earlier this afternoon. 9 homes were deemed uninhabitable and a total of 51 damaged. No reports of fatalities yet, just the usual idiots trying to go surfing. He said they have had a ton of rain and wind and lost their internet service around 11-12 this morning. Other than that, they're doing OK. The feeder bands are moving Northwest, toward Orlando and Central Florida. It's been raining almost all day here and the winds have gradually increased throughout the day. We're also under a tornado watch until 1 AM tomorrow morning.

Very cool.....Have you seen the new Corona commercial with Kenny Chesney? I guess we should've seen that one coming. Last year was the 1st year Corona had a decline in sales in a long time. With Jimmy moving on and launching his Landshark Lager and Kenny trying to position himself to inherit a large part of the parrot head phan base when Mr. Buffett retires, it all makes sense.

Got the outdoor furniture secured, the umbrellas down and tied, and anything else that might otherwise go flying moved inside. Batteries, water, ipod and phones charged, all 3 cars gassed up and just got back from picking up some Hurricane Party supplies. We're ready for the 1st one of the year for us. Looks like we might get by with just Tropical Storm effects, but unfortunately that can mean tornadoes as well. The timeline for us will be tomorrow, mid-morning when winds and the bands of heavy rain roll in. These things are always exciting, sometimes in a bad way, other times not so bad. They're always tricky to predict and that usually creates anxiety for most.

We have a Pressure Pro 8 gpm cold unit, as well as a 115v 8 gpm hot water skid. Yesterday I was doing some maintenance on the hot water skid, then I hooked the water up to it and was 'attempting' to clean the driveway/sidewalks at our home when it decided to eat itself. It started squeeling and I immediately thought it was the belts because I had gotten some water on them. No luck, it was the bearings and it literally threw the rod through the bottom end with oil and metal all over the place. I bought the skid locally but I knew Russ would be able to offer up some knowledge on the whole thing. After hanging up and thinking about it for a few minutes, I called him back and asked him to see if Pressure Pros in Ft. Pierce, FL might be able to do an emergency motor replacement, since I needed the thing back on the road by tomorrow. Long story slightly shorter, he made a call, they agreed and I drove an hour and 45 minutes South this morning and dropped off the trailer. He also gave me a great price on a 24 hp motor! They got it done in about 3-4 hours while I was hanging out with Mel from Vero Under Pressure and 'the rest is history' as they say. This is how Mel and I spent the 3-4 hours. http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/up-roof-asphalt-tile-shake-cleaning/13979-vero-under-pressure-roof-cleaning-johns-island-florida.html#post137582

Be careful, his prices might start going up if he gets too much press....lol! -
If you could go anywhere in the world, on vacation for a week but no longer, where would you go? I'm interested in Australia, Ireland and Micronesia so far.

Thanks for the info, Rick. I've been checking several spots here. Caribbean Vacation Getaways | Caribbean Travel ? Places to Go | Tropical Island Vacations Wifey doesn't know it yet, but we're going SOMEWHERE! She's shown interest in an Alaskan cruise also, so we might do that.....Who knows? She's going to PR in the fall for a conference and I'm tagging along on that one for 3-4 days.....Could be fun.

Hey Rick, I remember your caribbean trip.....Have you ever been to Montserrat? I'm thinking about that one maybe for next spring.

I've been to Sweden and Denmark.....Both very cool (cold, actually...lol). If I were super rich, I'd have a home in Sweden for sure. Extremely nice, yet reserved people. I wasn't diggin' the whole northern thing with the sun going down at 10 PM and rising at 3 AM though.

Mine was a 1978 Honda Civic like this one, but silver. I was 6'3 and 170 lbs. It wasn't a pretty site, but funny when I look back on it.

If you were truly concerned about being green, you would drive a green donkey named Ford. :lgwave:

WTH does color have to do with quality? :lgwave: All 4 are good but it depends on what they'll be used for, much like trucks. Good thing your customers don't base their buying decisions on color as well. Copper and silver wouldn't be good for you. :lgbonk: Just slap some "Diesel Powerstroke" stickers on whatever you buy and you'll be happy!

We have a new smoker sitting on the deck in the backyard and I'm itching to try it out, but we've always grilled. Anybody got any advice or good recipes to share? Gonna do some ribs for sure and maybe a beef brisket sometime soon.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Thanks for all the previous replies folks, but this one has got the good stuff. I mentioned this earlier today on PT State, but one of these boards should consider having a forum about grilling/smoking (or cooking in general) for those that get into it. Food is a great common bond that we all share.

Rob is a great guy and I enjoyed visiting with him for the 3-4 hours that we spent together. I think I enjoyed it as much, if not more than he did. :lgwave: If you ever have any questions, feel free to call, pm or email me, Rob (or anyone else). I'll help if I can.
