I have work in midwest
Mike Cappa replied to patchesean's topic in Contractor Help Wanted - Job Leads
When I did them (mistake) it took me 1/2 hour to clean each location. From start to finish. I guess it depends on how your equipment is set up. You don't have to bring any water, I hooked up to fire hydrants. But, the travel time is a killer and will eat your profits and then some. If you notice this guy is on here every year trying to get someone to do this work. anyone who does it, realizes how much it is NOT worth and won't do it again so he has to find someone new. -

Mike Cappa replied to patchesean's topic in Contractor Help Wanted - Job Leads
this is a chain of very low paying Home Depot's. I feel sorry for anyone who does them. I did, and never will again. -
I have moved to vegas so give me a shout if you want to get a drink.

Deck Job, Cleveland OH area
Mike Cappa replied to PressurePros's topic in Contractor Help Wanted - Job Leads
I have a company that does an incredible job for a great price. Jon, hated Ohio and it was a toss up between here and going back to Philly. I decided to give it a shot here. So far I made the right choice. -

have you found anyone yet? if not, I just moved from there to vegas. I can give you a few names of companies that will do good work. let me know. mcappa1@cox.net -
the chemicals to clean those awnings shouldn't be too expensive at all. Unless you are using something different than I am thinking. You should be paying about 40 dollars for a 5 gallon pail of dilutable chemical. You can get about 200-300 awnings done with 5 gallons. hope you aren't paying too much more than that.

Does anyone stain concrete?
Mike Cappa replied to seymore's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I do, but have never done anything like that. I stain with solid colors. Wouldn't mind learning how to do the above type staining. -
x-jet in the trash
Mike Cappa replied to C & T Pressure Washing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I chucked my x jet as well. not because it didn't work, but because I found a faster, simpler method and I will never go back. Well, I still have the x jet, just don't use it anymore. -
WT Brown Sugar
Mike Cappa replied to CCHSNC's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Just playing devils advocate here, but...wouldn't you re-coup the cost of free samples either in your taxes, or if the product is well liked, when the contractor buys the product for use? I am not really making any statements, just playing devils advocate. -
Hotsy pressure washer
Mike Cappa replied to william stratton's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
In my opinion, Hotsy is the best pressure washer on the market. I have seen machines in the field that are over 20 years old and still going strong. With proper maintenance of course. Hotsy machines usually come with Hawk pumps and come with a 7 year warranty. I now work for a Hotsy/Landa (and soon Karcher) distributor. If you would like to give me a call to discuss the machine, feel free. Hotsy and Landa are territorial so this is not me trying to make a sale since I am in Ohio, not canada. If you go with a Hotsy machine from a local distributor you will also get top of the line service from who ever you buy from. Mike 440-653-3570 -
Water Reclaim and Disposal
Mike Cappa replied to Austin Under Pressure's topic in Chemicals & Safety
Alan, out of curiosity, if the water did not go through the filter you would need a haz mat cert to transport it, correct? Just because it went through the filter you no longer need the cert, even though the same crap is on your trailer, just in seperate compartments? Is this correct? I am just curious how it works. -
it was actually painful making that face. I was just kidding, I am not conceeded. I can't spell either, lol. I wouldn't post those pictures. It will give the wrong impression of me. what is TMI?

Increasing pump output
Mike Cappa replied to One Tough Pressure's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
belt drive pumps run at lower rpm's than direct drive. that is why they last so much longer than the same direct drive pump. If you speed up you pump, thus increasing the rpm's you are reducing the life of the pump. I don't see how there can be a "safe mode" -
rofl, you guys are cracking me up tonight. the first one is the mad one when you guys are ragging on me. I know, I posted some goofy pics. You should have seen how goofy the ones I deleted where. I didn't want to get anyone jealous with my long tongue thought, lol

he he

the question is, does he want a bypass to get steam or a bypass to run his pump cooler. ah haaa
-
:D

Okay, now you can see me. one is me when you guys are breaking my balls, the other is when you are cracking me up.

Ok, Rob, you won't get the same concentration of chems downstreaming compard to upstreaming. You get a higher concentration upstreaming. And for everyone talking about by-pass. I think some people are getting confused. I think some of you are talking about different types of a by-pass. Or maybe I am crazy, which is always an option, lol.
