  1. wear gloves, they're cheap. If I'm spraying, I'll cover up just about everything so I won't get stain all over me. I'd rather have dirty clothes than to spend an extra 1/2 hour trying rip the stain off my leg/arm hairs. A good pumice soap works the best.
  2. There should be a local welder/fabrication shop near your. See what they'll charge to make one up for you.
  3. Lazy Man Needs Deck Help

This is too funny. If you're that lazy, tear off your deck and put steps by your door. And to avoid mowing your lawn, spray it with round up once a year.
  4. Can anyone solve this?

I second that, 23 sections. What does a 7th grade math problem have anything to do with college chemistry?
  5. Your question looks more like, "this works for me" and not really a question for people to get in on. I use a computer.
  6. Some people...

how bout that wind? feels like it's -40 right now, step outside if you haven't and you'll know what I mean.
  7. Chemical containers

Dairy farms & car washes will give them away
  8. Ariz. starts its employer sanctions 'experiment'

What's sad? That mexican nationals cross AMERICAN borders to take over MY country? That is so sad that the press has to use children as pawns in their games. The mexican nationals knowingly crossed that border and spread thier seed knowing full and well it was illegal, but knew they'd get the benefits. I personally think it should be considered an act of war, millions of mexican nationals flying the mexican flag cross AMERICAN borders and nothing is done about it. I applaud Oklahoma because there are plenty of jobs that AMERICAN nationals will be able to get, AMERICAN nationals will get the health care, AMERICAN nationals will get a good education. This issue is bad where I live, I've always been able to get a part-time/full time job for the winter, but this winter I've gotten none. I've probably applied to over 50 places with 3 responses and of those I was in a list of 60 or more wanting the same job. Even factories are starting out at minimum wage, why? because foriegn illigals are crossing the border and taking those jobs and are content with the wages. They don't mind 3 families living in a doublewide and making frequent trips to the emergency room or exhausting community services meant for AMERICANS! I love life, but honestly, like every stinking foriegn national has a little baby that's about to die. give me a break!
  9. Chem Container Shelf for 5ers

I'd go with the upright 15 gallon containers. Nonetheless, that shelf does exist. It's in the dairy industry for milkhouses used to hold square 5 gallon containers off the floor to keep with code. I searched the web for a while and couldn't find them. Just look up your nearest dairy supplier and they'll probably have it or know what you're talking about and where to get it.
  10. Accountants

Oh... The $2,900 I saved would've been from the child tax credit the accountant would've missed which he didn't deduct for my wife's neice. And not to mention his fee.
  11. Accountants

Imagine if you will... January, northern Wisconsin 20 below outside. The sun is just coming up and there is a light snow, beautiful. Snuggled up in a warm blanket with my hot coffee at the table I start my taxes. 2 hours later and I just saved $2,900 by not going to an accountant...it seemed to make sense to me. I also claimed my mileage b/c I own my older vehicle... So, to conclude our journey I have some choices on what to do in this January day. Go ice fishing, work on tanning some deer hides, or help the neighbor with something. It's just so tough living in the most beautiful place on earth "The Northwoods".
  12. Accountants

If you don't know anything about taxes, then get an accountant. After the first or second year, you should be able to take what you've learned and look at the accountants work and apply it. Now some of you think that doing your own taxes is best left to a professional and you'll rot in prison if you even think about it. Accountants get the same information everyone else gets and all they do is read the instructions. It's real simple, they (IRS) numbered the questions and used Letters from the alphabet on each sheet so you wouldn't get lost. It only took me 2 hours last year. I cleared off the kitchen table, spread out my papers got out the calculator and went for it. If you're unsure about your work, you can have an accountant check it. Who's beat down with work in the middle of January any way?
  13. So easy a caveman can do it

Charlie's idea is great. You can also write notes down for future reference, how long it took, and even plan a faster way to get the job done.
  14. Sikens,

If you're selling your company and you'd like to keep on top of the competition in your area for your potential buyer, then you still need a shurflo or cart sprayer setup. A pump up should be for emergencies in case your equipment breaks down, but you still definately need it. John
  15. So you can hand a $2,000.00 check to the school and that's alright, but providing $2,000.00 in service free of charge is not deductible? Rob's Truck and rig and all his tools are worthless? Now...he can't deduct his hourly wage, but he can charge XX.xx an hour for the use of his tools and his milage. How much does it cost to rent a truck and a pw rig and all the tools to go with it? $80,$90,$100 an hour? How about $2,000.00 a job? I read the tax law on this one and you can find a way to deduct what you need to deduct.
  16. From page A-4 of IRS taxbook: "Examples of Qualified Charitable Organizations...Nonprofit schools...Federal, state, and local goverments if the gifts are solely for public purposes...Contributions can be in...volunteer work for the kinds of organizations described earlier. If you drove to and from the volunteer work, you can take the actual cost of gas and oil or 14 cents a mile...Add parking and tolls to the amount you claim under either method. But do not deduct any amounts that were repaid to you." Public schools are state, fedral, and local. The tax book explains everything. Page A-4 for directions and Form A/B line 16.
  17. First you need to write up a bill. It can be whatever amount you want it to be...as long as it looks realistic, not $30,000. I think you can also carry over the amount if you don't need that much deductions. Then you need to have them acknowledge the bill and have them write a letter that the described work was done and that the amount was waived for donation purposes. You'll need schedule A line 16 and the directions are on page A-4 of your tax book. It'll probably change for next year, but should be close.
  18. Deck nightmare

Exactly! You need to triple your bids, feel confident about yourself and your work, and learn to walk away from those people. I just had a recent "good friend" referal that wasn't happy with my high price. I'm not some snot nosed kid with a 1600 psi pw and a pump up. I took schooling, invested time/money, and educated myself via forums, books & courses. Hopefully you've done the same and you should be pricing & doing work like a college graduate, not a high school drop out. Just walk away from those people, a good name goes real far & you can't satisfy that crowd no matter what you do.
  19. Wood Tux Vs. ReadySeal

I would of been using bakers gray away if the guy that I talked too at bakers would've sent me the info and samples like he said he would. Shane really has some good lookin' results. Dang...
  20. Deckster Question: PLEASE HELP...

I don't have a deckster, but I do have a shurflo and it shouldn't be much different. The white motor is the pump. The left side is the inlet and the right side is the outlet. Looks to me like the inlet side has different qc's for water/stripper/oxalic/bleach/stain whatever soooo... in at left, out at right.
