  1. Oxidation on vinyl siding

I get the same $, without taking an hour per side. Not trying to get in a pissing match but there is no need for an extension wand or application with a pump up sprayer. If I hired someone who cleaned a house the way you do, I would think they had no idea what they are doing. No offense, but I do 2 story homes in 1/3 of the time, and every inch of the house sparkles. If you changed your methods and approach, you would be much more efficient and could make a lot more money. Think about it...
  2. Charlie - Beautiful work. Gotta be real proud with those results. Who spends the money for Ipe and lets it weather for 3+ years? Still looking for an Ipe in Indy...
  3. Bad Stripping Day

What do you mean 'double boosted'? What was your mix? Just curious because I am always weary of adding too much Prestone. When I am mixing it, I know I will be turning the deck into a Chia Pet. How did it do on the verticals? That is an impressive strip job...
  4. I was right there with you. Looks pretty good until the last picture. That is a big deck and a lot of work. Price it right or you will be swearing at yourself all the way through...
  5. That deck looks really dark. Stronger stripper and need to neutralize. Still appears very dirty...
  6. Have a brand new one, never used it since the day I bought it 4 years ago. If anyone needs one, let me know...
  7. Rick - I almost use WTW exclusively and spray it. I have found nothing that works in getting the stain in the cracks between boards other than spraying. We hit the floorboards about 3 wide, then backbrush with a floor mop (Scott sells them). WTW needs very little backbrushing if you spray evenly. I haven't had it leave lapmarks but I couldn't imagine trying to hand roll it on. JMO.
  8. Bye bye CWF

Nice work. Love seeing that. It reminds me of chocolate milk draining off the deck. What is up with the rain coat and gloves but jeans and tennis shoes to strip that deck?
  9. Am I missing something - I can't seem to find any where to order their products from their website... How do you order their products? Have to call? Thanks for the help...
  10. Dustin -

You have time for a phone call? I have a cement on brick problem at one of my commercial jobs and noticed that you have experience in cleaning this stuff.

Any help you could provide would be helpful.

    Thanks.

  11. Nice work Matt. On today's post, second deck from the end (small deck, grey house) - is that Behr? Have any idea? I cleaned one just like that yesterday - yours stripped beautifully. What stripper do you use?
  12. Makita 9227c. Try Amazon - got it in two days for about $190. Works great...
  13. Nice work Jon. Looks beautiful. I would have bartered that job for a day out on the boat...
  14. Seems like I get a lot of this. I have a chiropractor that would like me to restore her deck in exchange for her services. Never had back pain (yet) but it sounds interesting. I submitted the estimate - $2400 - before she threw the suggestion out, but was wondering if others would go for it? Any suggestions so I can make it worthwhile? How would you approach it so it is fair to the both of us? Dollar for dollar or X amount of office visits?
  15. My wife makes me strip stained clothes off in the garage before entering the house. Still trying to find a good soap that will take off the oil feeling from WTW when showering and the orange stain around my fingernails...
  16. Bartering

Yeah, I agree with you guys. I like straight-up cash. I was kind of taken back by the whole approach and told her I would think about it. She said she wants to go ahead with the work regardless, I just don't want to give her the impression that I could care less about her proposal or her line of work. The whole "what is fair" for the both of us thing is difficult especially since I don't need her services. Now if it was for a Vegas trip or something similar, I would be staining right now...
  17. Anyone know where to purchase 72" pretaped plastic sheeting? The only stuff I can find is the 24" or 36" high, made by 3M. Beginning to wonder if they make pretaped sheeting this large - for covering the siding when staining decks.
  18. We used the stuff that Rod recommended yesterday - it is awesome. Comes pretaped at the top only. We started with taping it up top, then stuck additional tape on the vinyl at the bottom, tucked the sheeting into that. Nice static cling against the house which eliminates it blowing around. They carry it at SW - about $17 a roll (8' X 75'). I tried it and then had them order me some additional rolls...
  19. done in a day

Jeff - I am not here to give you grief but you may want to rethink the Olympic on wet wood...
  20. done in a day

Nice work. What sealer is that?
  21. Not so happy

    Is that Brown Sugar?
  22. Just got a bargain on a trailer rig.

Length times width times the number of stories.
  23. New Here

How is that being back on? Just curious...
