Has anyone ever thought about some off the wall colors that Crayola should have? Like Bile Green or Red Death. Lets see who can come up with the most disgusting or outrageous name for a new crayon.:whoops:

I have in the past sent the sheet to everyone that has asked for it. I dont really remember who they are now. I also dont have the sheet on my computer anymore so I am unable to send it out now. As Beth has stated I have closed up shop and most of my files are on my laptop that I have put away and not using anymore. I know both Reed and Beth have gotten the sheet that i was sharing so maybe they can send it the people that did not get it from me.

I believe Paul uk was lookng for a picture of me using the repelling gear I have. I was washing a building and had to get to the top of the third story. This was the easiest way for. My extension pole was not long enough and also had electric wires on a pole to deal with to on one side of the building.

Nick, I used to use the dolly method and I have found that keeping it on the trailer works better for me. You are correct about the extra hose being out there but it just worked better for me doing this way.

Matt, I am glad that is working out great for you. My helper this past year came up with that idea and it worked out really great as you can see. Good luck

Jeff, I dont know if you have seen my quad but I do have a 48inch snow blade on it. I have moved up to 15 inches of snow down my whole driveway with out a problem. The drive took only 5 minutes to do. The only problem is the cost of the quad and the cost of the blade for it. Between the quad and the blade I have over 8k invested in it. Of course I had to have the bigggest and the best utility quad at that time of purchase. If I was you I would go buy a really nice snowblower instead.

I have decided its time to hang up my hat in this business. The last several years working 7 days a week and no family time has taken a toll on myself , my wife and kids. I stopped doing the thing I really enjoy like going out hunting, taking my son out riding our quads in the woods and even my volunteer time as a firefighter in my town. Having to work a full-time job and also run this business has sucked the life out of me and its not worth the extra money in my pocket to neglect my family priorities and well being. I have made alot of friends on the boards and I will miss alot of you (some more than others:o ). We all have learned alot from each other and thats what makes the boards great and I will miss it. All of my equipment will be sold to help pay off some of the business debt that has been carried, so look for more info later on this week for some really good deals on great equipment.

I am out of shape. I had to take a nap that day!!!!:whoops: My decision was made to get out completely and do no power washing stuff except for my own needs. I am keeping only one OLD washer and getting rid of everything else. I still have to take the time to go through stuff but I do have a member here coming for a visit to buy most of the big stuff (I hope!). As far as differences, thats what make these boards great when we can disagree on our practices and fight it to teeth and bone as long as its civil!:whoops: Most of the time its civil but it can get out of hand, but that just makes it very entertaining.

Why would I quit a GREAT paying job working for the phone company w/ fully paid benefits, 401k and pension??? No way would I dream of that. (been thought of doing that:) ) Thank you everybody for the kind words and encouragement. Today has been a great day so far. I went and saw Dannys' soccor game (I missed the first 3 allready), Chased Lyndsey around the yard for awhile and dusted off my bow for hunting season!!!!!

If you start with the bottom and first and work your way up, there is less of a chance of spotting on the deck. The chems being thrown up up on the roof first can actually leave spots on the wood below if you are not carefull. I have always work from the outside in and bottom up just as Reed has stated. p.s. I have spotted the wood before thats why I do this way now.:rolleyes:

Our next meeting will be 9/11/04 from 12pm till 3pm or later. We will have some outdoor demos that day. We are also having a rig contest. This Saturday we will have several vendors attending. Tom Vogle of ACR Products will be showing us how to do some basic troubleshooting on a powerwasher and repairs. He is also donating a 15 gallon pail of his 396 All-Purpose cleaner. Bob Williamson of Pressure-Tek will be showing off his Big Guy surface cleaner. Bob is also donating a gun/lance setup, 50' high pressure hose and a 5 gallon pail of his F-18. Beth and Rod will be bringing there brand new Sprinter van that Tom Vogle help set-up. They are also donating a box of defelting pads and a 10lb container of HD-80. They all will be doing demos of there equipment and other little goodies they have to offer!!!

JD, I just looked at the pump specs on the link you posted. Its rated for 12 volts not 20 volts. I think you misread the lable and saw the flow rate of 21gpm by mistake. I think you fried your pump. Try calling the place you bought it from and see if you can exchange it out. Good luck

If that is latex paint the hd-80 will have no problem removing that stuff. It will take the paint right off the trim of house pretty good too!!!:whoops: If you do this job I would wait untill after stripping it to decide on what to put back on it. You may have to go back with a solid color again. Sturgis did a great job of removing a previous finish on a deck, make sure you check that one out. http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2311 The big thing is its better to overprice a little to make sure you dont lose your shirt if you get this job. This is a big undertaking for any contractor to do. Its very time consuming and tedious work. Good luck

From The pictures I have seen of the before and after, you did a very good job at the removal of the old finish. Give yourself a nice pat on the back as alot of contractors would have walked away from a job like this one.:wave:

No problem at all. No need to apologize either. I have not used the cabot for awhile now and I do remember that What I did use the can said to prime. But your good to go if they dont say it on the can.:angel:

Herbie, My point is you need to follow the directions on the can. Sure you can get away with not priming and get good results. But if for some reason something happens like you get a bad batch of stain. The manufacture will look for some other reason not stand behind there warranty. If the can states to use a primer and you did not use one, then you look like an idiot to the customer and the manufacture walks away looking good still.

If you use the cabots I would use the problem solver primer and then the 2 coats of solid. Yes its more work. If you have a problem later and you did not follow the directions on the can to the T you are out of luck with any warranty with the company. I also agree with Tony on not going back to a semi after using a solid. The work it takes to get the solid off is not worth it and the chances are you will never get it all off.

Funny thing is I never had a problem using Cabots or at the time I used it Cuprinols (now Deckscapes). I have told the customer I will come out in the spring and do a light wash and maintenance coat on the deck. He seemed happy with that.
